-swap out the touchscreen for a 720p 3d screen

-swap out the touchscreen for a 720p 3d screen
- make the controls non-detachable & replace left buttons with d-pad
- just supply a joycon controller for TV mode
- Tv mode = 2d = frees up extra power to boost the game to 1080p

guys i fixed the nintendo switch

+battery life will be longer because nintendo sacrificed battery for detachable controllers

>swap out the touchscreen for a 720p 3d screen
Why? What benefit does 3D have over touchscreen?
>make the controls non-detachable & replace left buttons with D Pad
>just supply a joycon controller for TV mode
So make it more expensive?

>guys i fixed the nintendo switch
This sounds like a worse console with less opportunities and features

>+battery life will be longer because nintendo sacrificed battery for detachable controllers
Source? How did they do that? the 3DS has the same battery life and it doesn't have detachable anything.

you know the controllers have their own battery in them right?

you do know it's probably cheaper to make touchscreens these days, right? whoever nintendo is buying these panels from probably don't even make non touchscreens at that size anymore.
and you're joking about the 3d right? 3d has been a joke among the masses for years

good job you fuckin' ruined it

All you've done is make it more inconvenient to use.
>Make controls non-detachable and add an extra controller
All this does is make one of those two controllers useless if you're using the other.

>tv mode = 2D so extra power can boost the game to 1080p
The switch does this anyway? All adding the 3D would do is potentially make it run worse in handheld mode when its turned on.

>Battery life would be longer
No it wouldn't because the batteries are IN THE CONTROLLERS, not the Switch itself

3D means worse viewing angles so it would clash with their portable splitscreen scenario. It would also force games to look much more shittier than now if you want 720p 3D in handheld mode or make the console more expensive cause of more expensive cause you need more power for it to look the same as now. Hell even the 3D screen would add to the price. Also the switch is capable to output 1080p on TV mode just not for Zelda.

I don't know where you people come from that think screens and extra controllers are free and just add shit together without thinking if it will work for the system.

>swap out the touchscreen for a 720p 3d screen
Why? 3d screens is a dead gimmick

>-swap out the touchscreen for a 720p 3d screen
Really, faggot? You want 3d over the possibility of another OSU/EBA?

- make the controls non-detachable & replace left buttons with d-pad
- just supply a joycon controller for TV mode
Yeah, let's give out more controllers, making the price go up.

- Tv mode = 2d = frees up extra power to boost the game to 1080p
It already up the power when docked.

Holy shit, I know OP is usually a faggot, but this one got the faggot trophy for the day.

I came here you to call you a fucking retard you trisomy-21 cretin

It needs to use micro USB as well. USB C sucks because it's not as popular as micro USB.

I have a much better idea:
- Get rid of the whole screen and hybrid aspect
- Make it based on standard x86+GPGPU with the latest cheap tech, which means it'll easily blow by every current console and be easy to dev for
- Make an awesome, non-gimmicky controller
- Stop being assholes to 3rd party devs
- Fire all of NoA/Treehouse and get a new set of pure quality localizers who aren't shit and don't do any political crap
- Focus on just innovating with Nintendo's own awesome IPs with all the power available and money saved
- Launch it for $350

There I fixed the Nintendo Switch.

>Dev costs skyrocket
>Every game has to sell 8 million to break even
>Nintendo is stuck releasing the same uninspired crap as the rest of the industry

Thanks user, glad we made you CEO of Nintendo.

USB C is superior in every fucking way, and since it's the new industry standard popularity is just a passing issue. For something with a 5+ year target lifespan using micro usb shit would be retarded. One of the only things Nintendo got right.

>>Dev costs skyrocket
Odd way to write "Dev costs plummet" user. Or did you think that standardized good hardware is MORE expensive then trying to code something specific for a specific gimmick and have to spend way more on optimizing to get the same results? You clearly do not do any software development.

You do realize that the PS4 is a lot CHEAPER and easier to dev for then the Wii U right? That the PC is even cheaper and easier, despite more power then both? God damn I sure hope you're just pretending to be the biggest techno retard on this board.

- Make controls fixed, making them removable is just a gimmick.
- Add additional hardware to the dock so that it can increase rendering power whilst docked.
- Remove the controls entirely and just have a USB gamepad.
- Remove the screen entirely, as most people just want to play it on a real screen, not a phone screen.
- Fix the tablet to the dock entirely, as there's no point removing it at that point.

Fixed.

>Fire all of NoA/Treehouse and get a new set of pure quality localizers who aren't shit and don't do any political crap
And where do you suggest they find an entire branch's worth of unemployed quality localizers without any sort of political biases, user? Import the hard working fairy people from the magical land of Makebelieve Doesntexist?

>decent localizers are expensive or hard to find
L-lol? You do realize that this is a thing for software and media in general not just vidya and has been forever?

Most of the budget goes into asset creation. You don't magically get a photorealistic human model with perfect animations just because you're working on PC.

On the other hand, every dev and their mum's cousin's dog has been claiming just how surprisingly easy it is to develop for the Switch. Some games have seen ports entering a mostly functional state within a week or two's time. That's insane.

fpbp

If good localizers were so easy to get, wouldn't NoA have them already?
They don't because good UNEMPLOYED localizers don't exist, at least not for long, because they're quickly scooped up by a vast number of eager companies competing for good people, so unless you make it so working for Nintendo is way more appealing than any other company, or go on a great crusade to Sony's Santa Monica studios to pillage them of their best Japanese speaking employees, there's no way to mass-replace an entire division with "good localizers"

>guys i fixed the nintendo switch

>-swap out the touchscreen for a 720p 3d screen

So you made a tablet with built in controls and playable on TV but doesn't even have basic tablet functionality. And gutted the out of the box multiplayer play (no one's going to lug around the Switch, and an extra controller to play outside away from a TV)

Congrats on killing the few features it has.

-If the control input was part of the overall housing, they could fit more battery. It is known that they downgraded the main battery because the two sides of the console come off. It's irrelevant that the joycons can now power themselves because its the screen and processing that eats up the battery and needs more power.

-The 3d on the 3ds is great and would look amazing at a higher resolution, the touchscreen is played out at this point. No glasses 720p with the new 3ds's stable eye tracking would knock people's socks off.
Look at the 3ds, did the touchscreen ever get used for anything other than a map/inventory?it's redundant.

- it actually works out cheaper having it in one unit and supplying a little joycon like controller. It can sit in the dock. When you use tv mode you can pick the controller up from the dock at the same time as you dock the switch device. It's extremely convenient.

>Look at the 3ds, did the touchscreen ever get used for anything other than a map/inventory?

Did the 3D ever get used for anything helpful at all? Some games even opted to have 3D disabled entirely. The touch screen was much better utilized in the console than the 3D was, because in the end the 3D added nothing to the games.

>- make the controls non-detachable & replace left buttons with d-pad
>- just supply a joycon controller for TV mode
>Yeah, let's give out more controllers, making the price go up.

at the minute you're getting two controllers already... the number of controllers remains the same

The switch doesn't have a touch screen you asshead

>something objectively useful like touch is overplayed and redundant
>a feature that nobody used and only served to waste battery and power will 'knock people's socks off' even though it didn't the first time
You're trying REALLY hard to justify your retarded points but it isn't working.

how bout this
>nintendo goes third party, releases multiplatforn
fixed nintendo as a whole

it didn't the first time because the original 3ds didn't have eye tracking, so the 3d effect was very unstable

>Most of the budget goes into marketing
ftfy

>3d screen

>did the touchscreen ever get used for anything
Let's see:
>touchscreen
inventory management, typing, drawing, aiming, selecting units or items, minigames, gameplay actions (cooking mama, etc.)
>3D
depth, turned off most of the time

My god, you're right, OP!

>Sega

Marketing budgets exploded because dev costs got so high that every game absolutely had to sell gangbusters. This shit is not debatable. Even Playtonic ran into this and their game basically came prepackaged with the engine.

gamasutra.com/view/news/289181/YookaLaylee_devs_7_biggest_game_design_changes_since_the_N64_era.php

sega what?

>with the new 3ds's stable eye tracking
I hope you're accounting for both the price and size of the camera you're going to have to put on the Switch now.

Humongous

>swap out the touchscreen for a dead feature most everyone would just turn off. Said feature no one wants will also increase the cost of the unit

I'm glad you're not in charge of designing hardware for Nintendo.

>It's another retard who thinks yet another gaming centric PC masquerading as a gaming console on the market is the best course of action for Nintendo to take
