Is this, specifically the backlit model, the best handheld ever made?

Is this, specifically the backlit model, the best handheld ever made?

>nice form factor; not too wide, folds up nicely
>amazing library
>last handheld made from Nintendium

>last handheld made from Nintendium
but pic related was released a year later...
a-HEM

no
too tiny

>no headphone jack
>need a dongle for headphones like it's a fucking iphone 7
Nah

I got a launch model and the top screen broke.

Can I pay someone to like refurbish my original Pikachu sp? His face is sorta fucked a little and it bothers me

>L/R buttons
>working

I also have a launch version. The top screen also broke and it mutes itself on low battery.

No? It can't play any recent games. Very outdated hardware.

Is Sup Forums dumb?

...

I prefer the Micro.

Fight me

ye

>nice form factor
Stopped reading right there. The form factor is shit.

I won't. Great taste. Too bad faceplates were so hard to find in my area.

You bet your ass it was, holy fuck the 6th gen was amazing

I prefer DSLite.

did you ever hold it for more than an hour? painful as fuck, specially if the game uses shoulder buttons.
I pick the PSP. You have all GBA library and shiton more with way better ergonomics. and an actual D-Pad

Same

>tfw I'll never have one with a GBA R4 version
>tfw I only played it once back in grade school when a friend let me try it

>Nintendium
This shit is for real. My GBC and SP still work perfectly.

Sturdy, good battery life, made of legendary material, fits in the pocket perfectly. 10/10 handheld.

This. I dropped my og DS down flights of stairs and that shit still worked. It got a couple of dead pixels after a couple of years but the DS was the perfect handheld.

VITA was the best console, but overall GBA is better.

i went through like 4 DS's over it's lifespan from 2004-2012

I had the launch GBA, my brother got the SP. I was majorly jealous of the backlight.

M'onica

Same, avoid any cheap amazon/ebay repro faceplate. I'd love to find an original plate. My silver is dinged up a bit and I think black on black would look nicer.

>splits in half
>best handheld

No it's shit. The best handheld is the vita on a hardware perspective. Double sticks, OLED screen. I don't see it lacking in any way.

The SP is the best pocketable game system.
Larger systems like the Vita are fine in scenarios where transporting them isn't an issue, but not so comfortable to carry around in your pants.

You can just make them. It's not really hard to do.

but you cant play pokemon crystal or wario 3 in that

Friendly reminder that a k101 can play your gba games AND emulate all your old GBC games

>tfw no GB Pocket form factor with the ability to load games from an SD card.

I mean you can get a GB Boy Colour for like 40 burgers and get an everdrive. But yeah I wish more people included pirate cartriges with their clone systems more often

>tfw my SP had L/R buttons that stopped working after a while

Its also the only way to play old GB and GBC with a backlight (mods don't count).

see

I got my DS on launch day and had that thing thrown into walls and had multiple cans of soda spilled on it. Still works like new.

I love the gb colour but I can´t get over the wrong ratio display.
why they don´t fucking make a revised version with proper ratio?

I have no idea, bro. That also really bugs me.

Maybe it's something to do with the patent specs on the regular game boy?

Way too fucking small to comfortably hold. Advance was good, SP was good too but I have no idea how anyone older than 6 was able to hold that thing for more than 5 minutes at a time.
>tfw the Switch controllers are literally smaller than the Micro
What is it with Nintendo making things for literal baby hands

Oh what the fuck I just realized I linked the wrong post. welp

>comparing the vertical length of the Switch to the horizontal length of the Micro

...

Yes, and that's just from me playing SMB3 exclusively on it for the last decade.

it was when I was a kid, but I recently tried to play a game on my old SP and it's just too damn small for my hands. The d-pad and buttons are still god tier though.

Adding a grip to the SP fixes ergonomics without having to mess with og gba backlight mods

I have no idea pal.
some light over here?

I don't understand

DS Lite is probably the best overall, but the SP is second.

>Disgustingly mushy buttons
>Hinge that madly flings fragments in every direction when opened or closed
Why do people like this piece of shit?

>My DS Lite is 10 years old now
>Still no hardware failures other than the bottom screen looking weird.

Also i guess its time to buy a new battery.
If im not wrong it used to last 10-12 hours.

And probably a charger too.
This one is buzzing but i guess its normal coming from a 10 year old charger.
