Thing is, Life is Strange is more of a VN than a game. There's no fucking fail state so it honestly might as well be with the time mechanic.
So it markets itself on an interactive story, right? If that's the "game's" strong suit, then the devs should give their all to make choices have as much impact as possible. If you can't even do that, your "game" is more suited to being a movie and there's no arguing it. If it has a set start and end with the player just pressing buttons as they appear on the screen to progress the scenes like a monkey, what's the point?
