Nah
Nah
Will they pretend like this shit ending didn't happen for System Shock 3?
I really hope there's no SHODAN. I know it's going to happen, but I really wish it wouldn't. Felt forced enough in 2, but now there isn't even any loose end like the jettisoned grove from 1.
The nah ending was a last second decision
No, they'll try to write around it, do the detriment of the final product.
>TFW can't join The Many or SHODAN
When the fuck did he say that? I just recently played thru the whole game just for that bit and it seems I fucking missed it.
It was a last second accident:
Ending wouldve been better if NAH was the line that triggered the bossfight instead of it leading to the soldier firing at a screen and somehow killing shodan
did you even play the game
at the very end. does he talk in every other instance?
ASMR
Did you even play 1? The hacker completely fucking obliterates SHODAN at the source. 2 would've been better if it were just about finding that jettisoned grove that spawned The Many. SHODAN adds literally nothing to the game but cheap fanservice and an easy explanation for the rushed ending.
did you even play the goddamn game?
Am I a contrarian for liking this ending? Shodan tried to kill you and when she's finally at your mercy she starts begging and making promises but both know that she will just try to kill you again, so the "nah" response is perfect in my eyes.
No, the ending was a fitting end to SHODAN.
She deserved death for trying to become god and alternate reality in "her" eyes. She was a horrible monster that needed to be killed.
I mean about there not being any loose ends when the ending of 2 shows siddons being possessed by shodan
And yes Ive played 1
Naw man, it was perfectly fitting. It was exactly the response Shodan deserved after acting all mighty for the entire game
should system shock 3 have choices throughout the game that leads you do different endings?
So, how did SHODAN infect the girl at the end?
Did she already have implants?
Sure why not.
are you dum?
if shodan wasnt in the game WHO WOULD HAVE TRANSMITTED THE DISTRESS BEACON THAT FAR FUCKING OUT IN DEEP SPACE?
The last survivors that were eventually going to get consumed?
that ho had been missing for most of the game (you find her logs) so she was most likely subject to experimentation by shodan, especially since she was one of the last surviving humangs aboard the ship
dumdum detected
what's it feel like to be dum?
>google actually gave me a sauce from this crop
I need to replay the game.
I skipped many of the logs because the damn game was fucking stressful.
A pretty accurate description of what happened.
SS2 has some decent mods.
i know what you mean i used to hide in corners while i listened to the audio logs
same thing when some of the trippy music came on
i waited until it stopped playing before i continued
i played this like 10 years ago and i still have vivid memories of it
I'm reading this right now and this coincidence is unbelievable.
In one of her logs i think she mentioned she got cybernetic treatment for a spider bite. That's how shodan infected her
so uh
what happens
To feel the greatest orgasm ever. She has someone shoot her in the head.
oh
I hope system sock 3 has a real "side with shodan" option
SS3 will be a disappointing.
>I actually got hard to that
So anyways, I've never played SS despite having it installed for many months now, any tips?
>im gonna kill the human that killed all my creations in my name and has been helping me this whole time
Was shodan autistic?
>nah
start playing it tonight in the dark with headphones
and get mouse mod
I'm also reading it right now. Pretty fun time.
Shodan was using him to defeat Xerxes.
So, she was smart in that regard. Why she didn't just sink a bunch of cybernetic treatments in and hack him is beyond me.
I got GOG version and readme.txt says it has mouse support added, so I guess I'm good to go.
That screenshot always makes me think hes really sad.
>implying it matters if SHODAN shows up or not
The franchise was already mishandled by Irrational, they couldn't finish 2 in time so they winged it. At this point anything they do with 3 is going to be good.
For 1, Enhanced edition is better for beginners, just play until you destroy the laser at least, everyone drops it before when they didnt even get used to the controls. Controls are wasd with z and c for leaning and rfc to stand/crouch/prone. Leaning is OP, but if an enemy is facing you they will fire very fast and accurately, so try to catch them off guard or circlestrafe around them. Logs in the first level are mostly background story, but then they all become vital to know what to do next or get equipment vital to progress.
If youre talking about 2, go to systemshock.org and follow the newbie modding guide but skip the "rebirth" mod. Community patch rebalances the game a bit so skip it if you want vanilla balance. Ss2tool is needed for compatibility, and 100% essential mods even for beginners are tacticool weapons, SHTUP, four hundred and music mod. Only tip is to press M and check the minimap box once you start playing and save ammo for the first 2 decks as much as you can
SS1 is a great time. My favorite of the Shock games.
At least try playing with the original controls at first. They take some getting used to, but the game was originally designed with them in mind so if you go mouselook it can really trivialize parts of the game. Cyberspace isn't all that bad, and Executive level is best level.

Yeah, I'm talking about SS1. Will note what you said for later use.
Original controls are so weird, it feels floaty.
oh yea someone else posted about this in an earlier ss thread
install Bassmidi soundfont audio drivers
it makes the music sound like the Mac version's music (exponentially better than the PC version)
why is there several open positions on a closed down studio?
