nope, had good multiplayer tho
Rushed games are usually better if the devs are competent. That's why Tim Schafer stopped making decent games when people no longer told him to quit fucking around.
this guy gets it. the campaign wasn't great but the multiplayer was the best
Where did all the senior Bungie talent go?
I agree with everything but you last bullet point. The only good things about Halo 2 were the teaser trailer and the level they showed that's not even in the game.
How? Waiting 30 mins for the shit match making instead of using a normal server listing. Games only lasted 10 mins max and then you start the waiting all over again for the next wave of 12 year olds screaming nigger. Nothing on it even came close to capturing the magic of a 3 hour CTF Blood Gulch game.
>level they showed that's not even in the game
what?
3>2>1
as much as it pains me to say it
>this
>still the best in the series
It's not though, the multiplayer is the only redeemable quality from Halo 2 and that was only good after Bungie patched it.
I will never not be angry about this. This is when I stopped trusting Bungie.

Ironically, the glitches in Halo 2 were the most fun aspect of the game for me. There was a whole community dedicated to searching for and executing cool glitches.
I used to know all the superbounces on every map, and how to get out of bounds on every map.
Blame consoles. If Halo 2 had been a PC game, they wouldn't have run into the problem that 64MB of RAM isn't actually a lot.
burn in hell
>I used to know all the superbounces on every map, and how to get out of bounds on every map.
I don't understand why people loved jumping out of bounds in Halo 2, but if you can jump out of bounds in a modern game, it's "unfinished shit".
people with bad taste really piss me off
While consoles are to blame they shouldn't have lied and said it was gameplay and a level that was in the game when they haven't even started on the game yet at the time.
...
It was because Halo 2 was one of the most readily available online multiplayer console games. People could share these tricks/glitches with their friends and show off. Also the fact that most of the glitches didn't completely break the game, but just opened up some interesting dynamic (like new areas to explore). That's my theory as to why it was so popular in that game.
It was gameplay, and it was a level in the game. The problem was they were using a completely different game engine at that point. They forgot to check whether said game engine could ever feasibly work on the Xbox.
I wished they did and made a level that looked and played close to that level.
This was one of the biggest disappointments in my gaming life.
Multiplayer:
P - dual wielding
C - shitty maps, blood gulch ruined, weapons nerfed
single player
- replaced funny unique NPCs with B-list(and lower) celebrities. REALLY David fucking Cross? Michelle Rodriguez?
- Boss fights?
- stupid new gorilla alien species
- absolutely nothing that they showed in the trailer appeared in the game upon release
- games called halo, fight on earth yawn
Ehhhh, it was a fun party game, online opened the door. But the execution was god fucking awful, autoaim, lunge, bullet magnetism.
May I suggest to you SPv3 or SoTP?
ITT: losers who don't realize Halo 3 had the best, polished multiplayer version of classic Halo
just because it was your first game to play on XBL doesn't mean it's good.
We're all going to die, user. You failed to approximate when her death will happen.
>Best polished multiplayer version of classic halo
Just because it was your first halo doesn't mean its the best johnny come lately.
>Rushed
Same dev cycle as every other main Halo title
>bugged
Must have played a different game than all the other people out there
>cut content
For the time it launched it had more content than other similar games. Campaign length and mp maps both more than similar titles.
>Still the best
No. Good but not the best. Just a jack of all trades, while other Halo titles are kings in their own areas of story or gameplay or similar.
fantastic bait.
>implying pcs of the era didn't have 256m of ram and 128m vram on the high end at the time
It would be another year before we had 512m vram gpus and those were $500+. Still with most people using 256m-512m of ram. Barely enough to run windows plus a game like halo (or did you forget Halo 2 on Vista?)
