I haven't paid attention to this game for a long while. What the fuck happened to her artwork? That looks way shittier than the art they had last year. The actual model is fine but the inventory screen portrait looks like anus.

Her hair looks uggo and the horns offer nothing because they just follow the shape of her head. They might as well be hair clips. Also that's a horrifying choice of colors for her hair.

Like either color is fine, but the reddish brown and black completely clash. Also the green of her horn-tip-decorations (aside from making no sense) completely go against the color scheme of her body and outfit.

The overall design is fine but little things like that hurt the eyes and trash the entire image.

Having cute/attractive girls is a very important selling factor. Miriam isn't very cute and that art isn't flattering for her questionable design either.

Because they're comparitively cheap. But the thing is, they're also completely incomptent at 3D and Unreal engine.

They are a 3rd party company outsourcing, but they rarely make games out of their own volition. Safer money that way.

Compare her to Shanoa from OoE, which is a fair comparison seeing as they're similar art styles and both Castlevania games, it's not really a contest.

Yuji Natsume is Inti's lead artist, and his style is ANIME AS FUCK.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that fucking mess on her shoulders. If you see the back of it, it's not connected at all to her actual dress, it's completely unconnected from anything.

She just has this fucking weird half-poncho sleeve with a collar that covers the other shoulder too, and there's just one big solid flap draped over a single tit not connected to anything. It doesn't even help make cleavage.

If that's so it makes things even worse, since that failed really hard. The tattoos are story related but they really throw off her color palate, same for that shit half armor.

Maria was added as a character for smaller children. The idea being the big bro would get the game, and unlock Maria, and then if the kids wanted to play they'd give them Maria.

As is, they covered it up really ugly, in a way that manages to show a lot of skin without giving anything that stimulates the imagination. Just looks weird and like they fucked up their obvious fanservice, especially given the corset and how fucking low cut it is. The low cut also highlights bad anatomy, because the highest point on that dress is still a head's length down from her chin, which is crazy far down for how little it's showing (like seriously, compare where your own head's length from your chin takes you to your chest).

user, you have no idea how Japan works. Maria was designed for men. If anything, Richter was designed for women, specifically fujos.

This is what the west has backwards. All the men are focused on shirtless homoerotic men and they expect the girl character to be for girls.
