Despite the order on the bestiary I think you're supposed to complete the city before Mantis Lords anyway. The boss there is way easier than them

There's a room to the right to the room above the Mantis Lords with a chest in it.

My guess is that you need all the charms to open this, cause I did pretty much everything except that and its still not open

Once you beat them all the other mantis's are no longer hostile, and one of them opens a door for you in the room to the right of the area lords are in.

Seems there are ghosts you definitely shouldn't hit with the nail. For example, there's a ghost in the Stone Temple that becomes a boss when talked to and gives out a good amount of Essence when beaten.

I have the ground pound, the crystal charge, the dream nail and I have cleared out the Deepnest (aside from the place that needs you to cross the dark lazers). I can't clear Crystal Peak and City of Tears because from what I gather you need the double jump or something? Do I have to go bellow the sewers.

just hit him when he's not doing the wave pound, dash under him when he jumps towards you for free hits
as well as smacking the rocks that fall from the ceiling at him
