Did anyone here clear Drakengard 1? I'm trying to get Wisdom in Chapter 2 Verse 13, but I killed everything on the map and still didn't get the chest.

Music is better in my opinion and so is the gameplay by quite the wide margin, story is slightly worse but it's overall a better game and my favorite Taro game so far.

No real clue why the western release was delayed by so much. That aside, Automata may legitimately be my favorite game ever. It needs time to settle in that regard, but there wasn't a single moment in the entire 50 hours or so it took me to platinum it where I wasn't completely loving it. There are basically no major complaints I have with it either, beyond a couple of minor bugs.
As far as its quality relative to the original Nier, I enjoyed Automata more in most regards, but the characters were just a little bit weaker for me.

Sounds great, shame about the story not having as much impact as Nier though. Just have to hold on and not kick the bucket before then.

Can't tell you desu, could just be that it's easy to upgrade. Personally I used the Cypress Stick the whole game after I found it.

Story is pretty fucking depressing.

How many areas are there in the game? From the demos I've seen there's the ruined city, desert, and the factory from the PSN demo. Do they feel well designed, or are they kinda empty/a sense of copy paste? Is there any customisation at all, like outfits? Taunts?

Story is tragic, but the tone is very distinct from both Nier and Drakengard.
Which to me is a good thing, it's better for Taro not to become a one-trick-pony.

It's more like Nier out of those two but it's really it's own thing, and yes the gameplay is good, though there's a significant amount of shmup elements in this game so I hope you're alright with that.

OST coming march 28 with extra tracks.

This IS a Yoko Taro game, so you should expect to feel very depressed. However, this game has the happiest 'true' ending of all of his games.

IMO the NA voice actor nailed it on that scene, especially when he's screaming during the fight

It turned it from a mindfuck moment into a grief/despair/rage moment. I actually liked how Taro handled his character-- it would have been really easy to just make him fucking insane and evil and not sympathetic, but Taro managed it.

This scene afterwards was the heartbreaker
