At some point AVGN was the only thing people went there for.
Also their purpose went away when everyone had a hold of high-quality trailers.
>he doesn't know
youtube was born and got better than potato quality, so there was no need to go to them to watch highish quality videos.
AVGN stopped his deal with them and other web personalities captured peoples' interests.
They underwent "new management" and got all of their awesome original shows pruned off the site.
They barely had anything worth going for anymore, especially since AVGN and Screwattack stopped uploading their videos to it, which were arguably the most popular stuff there. Besides, you know, the game trailers.
HEY i'm stuttering craig
Post worst lists.
youtube.com
I used this during the early Xbox 360 era of trailers before YouTube was a thing.
But YouTube was a thing in 05, the same year the 360 launched user.
It was probably lacking that it wasn't a viable platform yet.

I didn't get to play a lot of video games until I got into high school and got my own budget. Before that these were my jam. I loved these retrospectives so much. Whatever happened to the guy doing the voice?
What happened to him?
Well I'm glad he still has work.
>mario's fundamentals was a bad game
I want this fucking meme to end.
>Canned Invisible Walls
>AVGN broke off from Screwattack, so it was no longer a GT exclusive per their partnership
>Gutted the User Movies section
>Forums were a mess, infamous database errors plagued the site
>When they switched to a new in-house forum system it was buggy as shit and they never fully fixed it
>Spike began channel drift from a male-oriented cable network to a general audience action/reality channel which in turn lead them to can their video game and award programming including the VGAs and GT TV
>Viacom eventually sold them, then got sold by the people who bought them
Writing was on the wall
Screwattack died with Handsome Tom

Viacom went full jew and decided to redesign its websites to spend less in bandwidth (gametrailers was their top site so they decided to butcher it first)
After the redesign the site started loosing visitors really fucking fast, and to pour salt on the wound 90% of all the people who remained in the side used adblock so gametrailers continued to use insane ammounts of bandwidth while getting almost no money from ads
Then the site was sold to a bunch of jews who got the site for peanuts
went into hiding during the 2012 crisis
companies started using youtube
and then people whoever used gametrailers had adblock/noscripts enabled including myself
>At some point AVGN was the only thing people went there for.
I dont know, pop fiction gave the site a ton of traffic, at one point every guy in the video department worked on pop fiction exclusively, that's why they started doing 2 min reviews, when most GT reviews always were 8+ minutes
>used to watch gametrailers reviews constantly from like 2006 to 2008 by downloading their videos on iTunes
>didn't get a 7th gen console until 2010 but felt like I had played tons of games on it because I watched almost every video they made
It fucking sucks that Marcus Beer had to stop making annoyed gamer videos because of the SJW outcry after he went after Kotaku's patricia's shit
Viacom fucked it by refusing to recognize youtube as a legitimate platform as late as 2014. GT couldn't compete.
Then Defy bought it and slowly strangled the life out of it.
One the bright side, everyone who worked there during its final days became close friends and now make videos daily together. The only downside is that Ian is there.
Yup me too. Being a patron of EZA makes me feel a little less bad about helping killing Brandon's baby.
>What happened to him?
He took his annoyed gamer to youtube after being chased away by SJW
>The only downside is that Ian is there.
Fuck off, he is hot as fuck
I miss watching porn on this site from user uploads
>kids today will never know the greatness of TheGameHeroes
>Tom and his crew got burned out doing video podcasts just before video podcasts became huge
>you will never play video games with Jordan Doom
I believe he went to go work with the guy who left GT to start his own site that had a paywall
I think it's a shame because I personally thought that having his show and Bosman's worked by being polar opposites
Ian is the definition of low T. Stop being a gay.
I remember watching my first ashens video on the site back in 2006
she's a cute
I miss him so much
>kids today will never know the greatness of TheGameHeroes
TGH sucked desu. I watched every ep just because Tom was that likable, but it just felt so lazy and cheap. Plus that Mickey guy was terrible.
Hi Michael
Who /tabletopadventures/ here?
>Michael "The PS3 is way more powerful than PC" Patcher
I liked his show alright, but the man had no idea what the fuck he was talking about most of the time
You guys know Michael "The Vita will destroy the 3DS" Pachter still has a show on Shane's shit pay site? You can watch it for free on youtube
youtube.com
The Vita outlived the Wii U
Man, I loved invisible walls, that one episode where Shane and Marcus fought over MW2 and how Marcus would refuse to get the game after the shit Kotick said about taking the fun out of making vidya.
Or the episode where Shane didnt knew the nazis fought the soviets in WWII, or that one where Shane said New Vegas was shit because the map was mostly desert.
Or that time Shane got mad at the cast for liking Dark Souls, because he stopped playing after 1 hour because the skelletons kept killing him and no where in the game said where he needed to go
I hated Shane, but his stupidity really made Invisible Walls memorable, Im sad they will never make a reunion episode
>The Vita outlived the Wii U
Yes I love my vita, but it never had a chance against the 3DS
Is there a single good video game podcast
Not anymore
