So I finally decided to play phantom hourglass after I bought it from my friend who bought it from eBay. All this Zelda switch hype got me excited to play it. But when I popped it into my new 3dsxl, I got this message. Wtf? What happened?

Phantom hourglass is a DS game. What you show in the picture is a 3DS. It is actually a different system.

Happened to me before where a firmware update locked out my apparently fake copy of advance wars DS.

DS games use flash memory not batteries. Your cart is probably faulty. You should've just gotten a Flashcart honestly, DS games are fucking overpriced.

I haven't checked. And idk where the power cable it for my old ds so if I can find the ds itself I have to see if it can last long enough to get past the main screen
