How can you put Umineko on the same category as those games?
Fuck it's not even a game.
What did she mean by this?
Jokes on you, I never started Danganronpa
the anime felt pretty stupid IMO
you´d even be better off watching higurashi
btw have the creators of umi/higu made any new serieses or more shit quality fighting games / visual novels since these became a meme?
The edge that 999 has over danganronpa is the qt brown butt you see at the end of the game
I don't get how people just say its better but its really good
Ace Attorney is the most difficult of those.
>the anime
>read Uminek
>hey that was pretty damn good
>"hey user you should play Danganronpa"
>every single class trial, twist and turn are so fucking easy and predictable
Not only that, people act so fucking naive and unnatural in Danganronpa.
>read Umineko episodes 1-5
>hey that was pretty damn good
>episode 6
>well that was okay I guess
>episodes 7-8
>nope
Like they had some moments, but really it just went downhill from 4, maybe even 3.
EP7 Tea Party was pure kino.
Defend this, DR shitters.
>people think danganronpa is good
There was never a moment when the game presented something that I didn't easily figure out on my own well before it's reveal. Was never surprised once. 999 and most the AA games could keep me on my toes and keep me wondering most the games.
3 was great, 4 was almost completely garbage, but it picked up real fucking good as soon as Maria and Ange fucked off. I don't understand the reason why so many people dislike 6, 7 and 8. I can see people disliking the ending of 8 because it's basically "lalala I can't hear you everybody is alive!", but that's it. Do people just don't like the solution?
game ia average and the first game is the weakest of the series.
the endinga of the gamea are the beat parts
danganronpa v3 was amazing and took me for a ride
>AA below ZE
Fuck off pleb
The worst part about DR is the art
Seriously, the CGs are some of the most disgusting shit I've ever seen in video games.
11037
deep puzzle
>he didn't like tome 7
Kill yourself. So much shit taste
Apologize
This is accurate except for 999.
Overrated and not even a proper murder mystery, just a general puzzle game.
lord u
I prefer Danganronpa 2 over the entire AA franchise save AAI2 and AA3.
I also prefer Virtue's Last Reward over 999 and DR2.
999 isn't that good, neither are the nu-AA 3DS games.

christ the DR OSTs are weak tbqh
Seriously, playing DR after Umineko was a huge mistake. You can tell every culprit at the beginning of all cases except the last one.
>tfw AA is a shitty zombie franchise now
>tfw V3 was a fucking dud
>tfw ZTD killed ZE and ruined VLR
Too bad that ass of last year's anime, DR2 is pretty much now just pointless filler. Same thing with Another Episode being worthless filler too.
Any of you guys like Professor Layton?
And ZTD took a huge shit on VLR. That doesn't stop the latter from being a fine entry alone, same with DR2
Future > Box > Mask > Legacy > Village > Spectre
Looking forward to Lady Layton.
Did you like the Eternal Diva movie? And the crossover game?
Movie was fine.
Crossover game deserved to be better, but they tried their best. Weak in the Layton puzzle department, but a nice OST.
>MFW VLR shitters are still assblasted that their entire game is just sequel to ´´What if´´ non canon ending
Why are japs the only ones who make good murder mystery games anyway?
All westerns are shitty Sherlock Holmes adaptations, and get stuck on being hyper-realistic to the point of boredom.
I guess that's just western games in general though.

Embodiment of despair
The west has more focus on crime thriller murder mystery now. Stuff like The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo and The Killing.
those scandicucks cant keep getting away with it
>tfw the ds and psp era was the best era
>nothing in the future will ever come close
Japan gives their murder mystery games some charm and wackyness while the west makes them all SO GRIMDERP AND MATURE
Shit as the 2nd half of Umineko was, it really got me into analyzing murder mysterious and teaches you a lot "under the surface" stuff about them, so I appreciate it.
Crossovers only problem was that it had to simplify both parts to appeal to both audiences. Pure AA fans dislike it for Layton part this includes the twist, Layton fans dislike it for AA and dumb puzzles, but it feels like people who like both series found it fun, although dumbed down. Personally I liked it.
This desu, ZE was better at first but now they're around the same level of "stupid shit with some great parts".
Nips can't into roman alphabet
Compared to DR, I meant.
AA is definitely better than ZE now.
HOLY SHIT DOES IT SAYS LEON
>the tutorial case tells you who the killer is
Good thing that doesn't happen in AA at all, huh?
Umineko > AA3 > DR2 > VLR > AA1 > 999 > DR1 > AA2 > shit > Umineko Chiru > ZTD = DR3 anime
VLR > AAI2 > SDR2 > 999 > T&T > DD > SoJ > PW:AA > DRV3 > ZTD > PLvsAA > DR1 > AAI1 > DGS > JFA > AJ > DR3
Prove me wrong.
Some pretty shit tastes there, m8. Especially the part where you unironically think there's any worse AA game than AAI and think ZTD is better than any of the games you put afterwards.
Duel Destines is worse than Spirit of Justice and Ace Attorney 1.
>Chiru
>shit
t. permavirgin cold hard logic "FUCK FEELINGS" troglodyte who never experienced love
>999 > T&T
1st strike
>DD > SoJ
2nd strike
>SoJ > PW:AA
Aaaand you're out.
>you'll never live the clusterfucking funposting of Danganronpa 3 again
It was a fun ride
AAI1 was okay.
AJ and JFA were pure shit and DGS ends in a cliffhanger and overall as pretty bad cases, with the only good thing being the music.
ZTD was amazing up until MINDHACK man.
>every single class trial, twist and turn are so fucking easy and predictable
>the gravel in the swimsuit
>he never filled his socks with sand and beat the shit out of your friends with it
Nah.
The first three cases in AA1 are mediocre and the investigations are a huge borefest. Spirit of Justice has Rayfa being cute, but most of the cases are boring and Apollo's backstory goes full retard in the last chapter.
Dual Destinies' only good case is the DLC. The rest is pure shit.
I disagree.
It's one of the most solid AA games to date.
...
Sorry to hear about your chronic shit taste, then.
No problema.
Try using less buzzwords next time though.
>takes Phi an entire game to solve the anagram
>in ZTD, everyone magically solves anagrams just at a single glance
>Do I fit in yet?
t. actual permavirgin who thinks muh feels and moral lessons excuse bad writing and lack of good direction.
>Do I fit in yet?
Doesn't seem like it from the (You)s I'm getting.
Well memed though.
DR might have shit-tier storytelling, but the characters are pretty top notch. Much better and more developed than AA or ZE characters.
While ZE (used to) have amazing stories, the characters were rather weak and not that great.
It actually shows given Uchikoshi's method is to write the story first, and then create characters to fit the story, while Kodaka's method is create characters first, then make the story around them.
Name ONE (1) instance where Chiru had bad writing.
>tfw Umineko has no blatanly obvious case
>DR might have shit-tier storytelling, but the characters are pretty top notch.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Komaeda and Junko (porn) is the only good thing to come out of the franchise.
wtf i love sweetfish now
Sorry to break it to you, but AA characters are extremely one-dimensional and barely developed compared to DR characters.
dude i'm the best at making doujins lmao
dude i'm clairvoyant lmao
dude i'm literally made out of cardboard student council president lmao
>Umineko
My god damn fucking nigga.
dude I never did their FTEs lmao
You're just gonna dispute anything with "it makes sense because that's what the characters have been building up to!"
I'll just say that nearly the entirety of it (except stuff like Erika's duct tape and ep 7 tea party) was a boring slog of shit to read through with way too much focus on magic bullshit rather than giving real characters more screentime, and I was just disappointed all around in where everything went. Agree to disagree.
>9 persons
>PERSONS
>Orcsoft
New game when?
>mfw Umineko has been sitting in my desktop for over a year now and I still didn't touched it
Thanks NISA
Not him but
>they're good characters, it's just not even relevant to the main story enough to actually appear and basically amounts to nothing
You're basically saying it has the best (most varied, really) husbandos and waifus, which is true but doesn't make them well written.
Me to man Im soo close yet getting lazier as I start ep 6
dude burgers lmao
dude magic panties lmao
dude muh salary lmao
Pretty much this.
Character I like or want to fuck =/= well written character
Honestly you shouldn't do it lightly, it's a long read and if you wanna actually get some good enjoyment out of it you gotta really put in thought while reading.
Come on now, you know AA characters aren't limited to running gags. Meanwhile, a lot of DR's side cast has literally 2 or 3 personality trait and 0 development.
>Come on now, you know AA characters aren't limited to running gags.
Good joke.
R07 made Rose Gun Days and wrote the worst route for Rewrite since Seacats.
And again I ask, did you bother with their FTE? That's why they exist for a reason. They give development and background to the characters. They're far more thought and written than your average joke-spouting AA character.
That's alright, desu. A lot of people didn't like Chiru, and I can understand why. I personally loved it, even though, as you say, it really was a fucking slog at times. I think the payoff is worth the wait. EP7 is both the highpoint and the lowpoint of Umineko, imo.
But it really shows that when R07's editor died, the series took a whole different approach, and kinda suffered from it.
>DR might have shit-tier storytelling, but the characters are pretty top notch
Are you serious? The characters are definitely entertaining but not what I would call "top notch".
So you didn't read it.
OK.
daily reminder that NO moment in any of the listed franchises in the OP will EVER top this kino as fuck moment in Umineko
>you know AA characters aren't limited to running gags
Uh huh
>QT retard that usually only screams unintelligibly like 70% of the cast tries to kill everyone on purpose instead of on accident because she is sad
I uninstalled because I'd rather die than sit through another class trial.
Umineko shitfucked me hard every time I tried to guess something. The only time I actually guessed a thing right was the very last riddle Beatrice asked to Battler, which looking back at it was pretty easy to solve. It just baffles me how nobody ever mentioned about it in Ange's future, and that the island looked stupidly intact when she went to visit it, no signs of explosions.
>cherrypicking characters
This was a conversation about the original trilogy in any case. Everyone and their mother agrees that modern AA is a shambling corpse.
This was the tightest shit outside of Erika's duct tape.
