I own an AMD CPU senpai. I want Ryzen to be good, but everyone hyped because of synthetic benchmarks is a retard.
I bought a i7-6700 for 300$ 2 weeks ago when i build a new pc to switch my 7 yr old toaster.
I'm not gonna sell it or buy a ryzen right away.
I will sit in the fire and see how things will turn out.

FX never had good single thread benchmarks, Ryzen does. What's come out so far indicates that at stock speed it's basically as good as any Intel in single thread.
Now factor in the new OC tool that lets you disable cores so you can get higher speeds on others and you'll get a CPU that will BTFO Intel in both single and multithread

If you disable say 6 cores you create a lot of headroom for having a huge OC on the remaining 2.
So let's say you play a game that doesn't multithread well. You disable 6 cores and bump up the remaining 2.
Disable 2 cores and get better overclocking on the other 4, disable 4 and you pretty much got a G3258 with AVX.

So what exactly is multithreading used for? I'm not good at computer but as far as I know, games aren't optimized for that mostly.
That's actually pretty cool. Intel was trying to do something like the big-little idea automatically in firmware, on newer boards only of course, but I think they ended up abandoning it or almost no one supports it. AMD delivers in an inbuilt manual way, and it's probably more relevant. Pretty good.
