>Love for traps so strong that they made him the main villain
What game does this?
Vanilla KH2. Brotherhood is the Final Mix.
Envy wasn't really the main villain though.
FMA > Brotherhood
>Filler Show > A Good show
>Good and unique story > generic nurutu shounen
Kingdom Hearts
Remember a time putting FMA on your top 5 was considered a troll post?
>in no order
>Trigun
>Cowboy Bepop
>FMA
>FLCL
>NGE
>Death Note
>generic
yeah, keep it nice and vague.
Sorry m8 but brotherhood is generic and boring as fuck
>FMA 2003
One of the best games ever with a newer dudebro adaptation that gets all the love from normalfags?
>FMA
>in any way good
Fuck everyone who consider this great or even good.
It was boring as fuck but I thought there was some merit to all the hype so I watched it all the way trough. What a fucking waste of time.
Halo
Except the one that veered off was the second version. Seriously, the cut scenes in halo 2 were better directed in the virtual one than the remaster
FMA 2003 > brotherpleb
fuck off and go watch your edgy fanfic
just because they punched a god to death?
haha what happened?
>DUDE, ACTION!
>LMAO
>Sup Forums is this much woke
>better animation
>better action
>better story
lmaoing at your generic shounen
Great game and defninitely worth a playthrough, but was surpassed in almost every way by its modern remake
Has to be Starfox.
From SNES to N64 to be precise since the N64 version incorporated some elements that were planned for SF2 but never made it to the first one, yet, it reused most story elements from the first version, acting as a remake but having enough differences to separate them, both good but at their own style.
The original expansions to F.E.A.R.
lmao, nigga
>le 2003 FMA is good meme
Please kill you are selves. Anything FMA is trash
The English translation of PSX Persona 1?
>FMA Homunculi are the remnants of the dead brought back through human transmutation. Must be defeated by finding their remains. Some of them are conflicted, seeking their own identities.
>Brotherhood Homunculi are just offshoots of the big bad. They have no sense of self or internal conflict. You beat them by killing them extra hard with your shonen powers.
>FMA villain was a colleague of Hohenheim who abuses her powers because she's afraid of death. The Elrics, who are in this mess because of their own fears of death, must confront the literal consequences of their father's sins, as well as their own.
>Brotherhood's villain is some kind of demon clone thing who wants to be god for some reason.
>FMA's villain is ultimately undone by her own hubris, her own creation devouring her in revenge for Lust's death, both humanizing him and providing satisfying payback for the villain.
>Brotherhood's villain is beaten in a big, stupid, muh power of friendship shonen brawl with the entire cast.
No comparison, really.
>you are selves
fuck you
fucking this.
while you aren't wrong, the conspiracy in brotherhood makes more sense, were in the 2003 version dante was having the military do bad things because it might on the off chance make some mooks butthurt enough to try human transmutation
>Dante
>A good villain
The Dwarf in the Flask was infinitely better.
this, the fucking power of friendship killed brotherhood for me.
It's all fucking garbage, fuck you and your shit taste
Brotherhood's villain was beaten by his own hubris though, he LITERALLY thought he was bigger than God and suffered for it, and failed to take Hoenheim into account because he thought he wasn't even a threat.
Nice picking and choosing.
its totes a actual point when you provide in greater deal the FMA stuff than the brother hood.
FMA is garbage edgy poorly animated and terribly written. nothing about it is any good.
> The have no sense of self or internal conflict.
Yeah you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.
I'll agree with that. Although, you must admit that Pride as Fuhrer Bradley makes way more sense than Bradley as Wrath. Mustang using Bradley's own skull for flint to burn him to death in revenge for Hughes was fucking amazing and way better than evil shota.
Anyone know of any other anime/mang/books that go over the modern military applications of wizards? I can't ever seem to find enough of this shit.
>its totes a actual
I generally agree with you but get the fuck out.
>FMAfags
LITERALLY Dark Souls 2
people swear by the game even though it's complete garbage, just like the show
>in revenge for Hughes
But Envy killed Hughes not Bradley
Roy vs. Lust>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Roy vs Bradley
I'd also like to add that the episode where Lust trains that doctor to use the fake philosopher's stone, starts to fall in love with him, and then kills him out of fear of her past life was pure kino.
yeah its true we all know it.
Eh, I felt the same way, but this fight in particular made me feel otherwise.
I'd say it works making bradley wrath, the issue is pride in brotherhood was pretty weak, and wrath in 2003 was also weak. (though, the gimmick that wrath in 2003 could do alchemy by using eds limbs was pretty cool)
Anyway, dub bradley is best bradley desu
youtube.com
again, great insightful nuanced criticisms there. really makes me think.
check out cross ange ;)
>ken vs. alex
fuck yeah
2003>Brotherhood
>totes
What did he mean by this?
brotherhood's animation is very good and better on average (scenes like Edward vs Greed are rare) but definitely prefer the tone and characterization of 2003
anyway it's mopey dystopia is characteristic of the late 90s to early 00s
this animation is a work of art
I really liked more the approach of 2003 over brotherhood.
People always cry >muh manga everytime someone mentions it but i liked the darker tone of the first series more.
>2003
>better character ark for ed and al, because it needed more filler they focused more on their struggles together then the world at large
>better score, probably one of the best anime orchestral scores of all time
>animation is more consistent, brotherhood is well animated in the second half, but the first half is a rush job that expects you saw the 2003 version
>way more hard hitting side stories, nina and hughs were gut wrencting, mainly because they got more focus
>I'd say 2003 had more "teeth" in a way, brotherhood tries to show how bad war is but it feels very subdued, 2003 in the later half gets really in your face with what war is like and it hits home better
>the homunculi are conceptually more interesting in my eyes, and were better characterized
>brotherhood
>the overall plot and conspiracy makes far more sense, and feels planned from the start, if you watch it then the 2003 version it really feels like they had to make some shit on the spot when the manga material ran out
>I actually really like the dwarf in the flask, but all the homunculi save greed just feel a lot weaker
>I like how hoenhiem was handled here better, he never got much focus in the first series and then got a really lame death in the movie
>I think the background characters actually were done a bit better (roy, riza, ect.) in the second half of the show
>the animation in the second half looks a lot better then the first series, but again the first half is a rush job
You cant tell me the who 2 worlds and Nazi bullshit was a good idea. Every aspect of that was pants on head retarded.
how about we agree that they're both pretty good
It's well animated, but this is way more interesting if you ask me: youtube.com
>Dat dialogue
>Dem voyeuristic camera angles
>Dat part where he kills his own son
>Dat internal consistency with the rules of Alchemy
>Dat conclusion
Fucking this, 2003 FMA was the only anime I watched in full and loved every second of it. I gave up on Brotherhood after about 5 episodes, even though I did read the manga.
>Better story
like dude sloth is your mom and here's 8 episodes of shou tucker coming back
>not liking bear man shou and his little nina clones.
I like them both, but FMA's anime leading into a movie for the real finale was bullshit.
Overall, adaptations that eventually make up their own story due to getting passed the source material can do a lot worse, and '03 did surpass the source material in some ways, like tone and drama at some points.
Go back to Sup Forums faggot.
Why does Sup Forums love Brotherhood so much?
The ending worked perfectly well without the movie. It was a bit sadder, but still offered closure. Probably even better than with the movie to be honest.
Truth
2003 is more gritty and realistic. It toned down the shonen-y shit from the manga.
When was this? Why does Ed have 2 arms. I haven't watched it in a while so I've forgotten most of the plot.
IM GONNA GO WATCH BLOOD C IRONICALLY AND YOU CANT STOP ME
