It's called review embargo, it exists so that sites that do reviews can experience the game in order for them to tell the end consumer wether a product ir worth buying or not.

No. If anything the only time it is, is during the third dungeon where you're investigating the Mafia. But its way of going about that doesn't feel similar to P4 at all.
P5 feels more like an Oceans film or (obviously) a Lupin story, or some other thief based fiction, and it keeps that up pretty much the whole way through.

Romanceable Main Party:
Anne is a very energetic and lively girl, but she feels strongly about a lot of things and holds grudges. She doesn't like it when you pry to deeply and tends to keep to herself even until things start to come crashing down on her.
Makoto is a responsible, "high-class," and motherly student council president, and expects the best from everyone.
Futaba is an incredibly socially anxious, and depressed NEET due to a previous event in her life. She doesn't want to stay like that however, and is ambitious when it comes to changing and improving herself.
Haru is the daughter of the owner of a major international fast food corporation, and is incredibly sheltered and forced to live her life in a way that benefits her father's business. She's got a very kind heart and can't stand to see injustices or people being treated unfairly.

Romanceable Side Characters:
Hifumi is a girl who plays Shogi (Japanese Chess) in her local church. She just wants to enjoy her hobbies, but her mother has other plans. She's quiet and reserved, but she gets incredibly energetic while playing Shogi, to the point of being a chuuni.
Takemi runs a small medical clinic, and is regarded as a rather experimental and unethical doctor. She takes you in as her "guinea pig" to test experimental medicines for her.
Ichiko is a journalist that has a severe drinking problem and spends pretty much every night at the bar getting drunk. She loathes her job and the people in it, but she does have a serious interest in journalism.
Chihaya runs a fortune telling stand in Shinjuku, and is scamming people out of their money by making them buy into bullshit superstitions. After becoming a victim to these you start to help her change her ways and stop scamming people.
Sadayo is your homeroom teacher, and moonlights as a "home cleaning maid" because she needs the money. You end up keeping her job a secret, but still keep calling her to your house.

I'm well aware. I loathe it to bits, so many of the UI elements just look downright abysmal. I'm not defending it, but I doubt any reviewers will even notice it, let alone factor it into their score.

The font isn't bad by itself, but it's a terrible pick that looks incredibly out of place in the game. The Japanese font is very comic book-esque, and the font they've picked for the English version just plain doesn't look like what should be in a comic book speech bubble and clashes with the rest of the visuals.
The real problem lies in the actual UI elements, things like the deadline counter, battle UI, persona fusion menus, and too many others look like amateur rush jobs done in Paint.

Well from a buisness perspective, the entire world is a large market than just Japan. Japanese game companies that pander only to Japan and pull crap like this are just making stupid buisness decisions that end up hurting their bottom line.

They do sell in both territories, but it's not ATLUS Japan's responsibility to worry about the western localizations. That's ATLUS USA's responsibility. All the delays are entirely on their heads.

Also, ATLUS isn't as rich as Nintendo or Squeenix, and simultaneous releases requires a lot of money, manpower and planning. Hell, many Japanese companies are so poor that they can't even begin to take territories outside of Japan into account until an actual western company offers to localize their product for them.

In P1, it was probably Nanjo. In Innocent Sin, it was Jun. In Eternal Punishment, it was Ulala. In P3, it was Yukari, but if you were playing the female protagonist's route in P3P, it was Aigis by default. In P4, it was Kanji, though Yosuke was up there.
