Is it playable and enjoyable on the Wii U or is it a slide show a handful of articles claim?
Breath of the wild WII U performance
it runs better on the wii u
Does it work well with the pro controller?
Is the pro controller comfortable while playing?
Well I've heard you flat out have to swap between using the pro-controller and touchpad gamepad because some sections REQUIRE the gyros.
I've found two shrines so far that require the gamepad, everything else can be done with the pro controller (which is way more comfortable)
I'm interested in hearing how WiiU players find the game too. I definitely don't want to buy a switch.
It has some annoying frame drops, but it's playable. Like people said, the Switch version isn't much better in that regard and sometimes worse when in docked mode, allegedly.
Got both
The only difference is frame rate drops. Unfortunately they get pretty bad on the wii u when you're in a village or if it's raining with a lot of grass and trees and shit around. Nothing game breaking to me at all, but it is certainly worse than on the switch
it's a shame, but not worth buying another barely improved console for
Runs great, senpai.
Having a blast. Can't drop that controller.
The frame rate does drop in grassy areas but you won't bother.
The game works well on the wii u, to anyone out there on the edge, get a wii u over switch if you NEED to play zelda, simply because it's cheaper and there isn't much difference in the versions. The wii u does lag out alot, and imo its kinda gamebreaking at times, remember to the sequence when you attack the elephant beast, he shoots ice at you and the section was generally awesome, but it was honesly almost completely ruined because of extreme fps drops so I wasn't able to break the ice he throws at me.
I think it's insane how anyone at all can release a console game where the framerate drops like this, it's not gamebreaking, but I really thought the plus of using a console was the fact that the game would run smoothly, but I guess that's no longer the case.
>Playing in the surreal world known as Loadiine BotW
>Loading times galore
>Cases where I go in and clear an area because none of the enemies have loaded and I never noticed
>Blow up an explosive barrel once near a ladder tower
>Nothing happens
>Start climbing up halfway to get the enemy up there
>Game decides to realize what happened and Link just collapses in place while the tower explodes in the background
I'm enjoying myself in the brief moments between loading times.
Thanks.
Load times are like 15 seconds max while fast traveling. Faster than any other open world game besides TW3 on an SSD.
I'm loading from a Micro SD card. One of these days I'll care enough to use the USB method, but there's not much game motivation.
Playing it on Wii U, the framerate tanks in some areas
>When there are multiple enemies on screen
>during big explosions
>When I walked in front of hyrule castle the framerate went down
But I don't know if these also exist on the Switch version or not. It controls fantastically on the Wii U pro controller, but as someone already mentioned there are sections that require the use of the gamepad, as the Wii U pro doesn't have gyro controls. I've only come across one shrine that forced this so far.
Hacked, then? I don't think you can run from Micro SD typically otherwise. Legit version has pretty fast load times even on disc.
thats would loadiine is for durr
Oh I didn't know that was the name for it, thought it was a typo
is this an issue if you install it onto the console or just on sdcard?
im going to be buying a wii u soon and will probably load CFW onto it so Im curious about this.
Should be much faster on any non-SD method, really.
aight. hoping throwing cfw on there isnt a pain in the ass. i did it with my psp back in the day and it was fairly simple.
