Remember when Nintendo's consoles were known for being sturdy and hard to break? What changed over the years?
Nintendium
They purposely made the switch break easily for publicity, that's why it's doing good.
the wii ruined everything
it put gimmicks over gameplay
it put crap over graphics
it put sleek design over sturdy design
Didn't the DS lite come some time before it? I remember that system having weak hinges that snapped pretty easily. It also felt like a case of them prioritizing sleekness over sturdiness, especially when you compare it to the original fat DS.
The Wii is pretty sturdy nigger
>disk drive destroys itself
No, it really isn't.
The disc drive was awful. After a year my system sounded like a jet engine. And then the spring or whatever in the SD card slot broke, so that was pretty much useless.
Fat one was even worse senpai
the answer is simple user
Starting with the Wii, Nintendo stopped manufacturing their systems in Japan and outsourced production to China - ever since then it's been cheap, flimsy build quality, weak hinges, and dead pixels (on their portables).
Never outsource to Chinks, they will always do the worst possible job since they will always be the lowest bidder
at least it didn´t look like an apple botleg device. yet.
>Gimmicks over gameplay
The Wii was literally gameplay with gimmicks. Then the Wii U was gameplay and now the Switch is gameplay. At least cry about the graphics you shitty shitposter.
Gamecubes the best nintendo console.
...
They fixed the weak hinges later on iirc
tfw I own 5 GCs because it was cheaper to buy a whole console than controllers seperately.
You mean back when the internals of electronic devices like these were simple and less delicate?
Yeah, retard. Consoles, handhelds will never be as sturdy again simply because of how advanced technology is now.
>my gamecube stopped working
Didn't know they built time machines in 2008
That might have been the case for most of the Wii's first party titles, but the rest of the systems library made it feel developers were focusing on the gimmicky side of the Wii rather than actually making decent (or functional) titles.
The Wii had potential, but Nintendo going full blown casual and third party publishers shitting out shovelware ruined it.
But I thought the XBOX was bigger. Did you all lie to me, niggers?
The gamecube had the best game libraries of all time
SNES, Neo Geo, and PS2 were all better
>my launch gamecube is still working
Even when you consider that technology has become way more advanced over the years, surely that can't be an excuse for their systems looking and feeling way more flimsy than they used to be.
Mine too
>Wii
>it put sleek design over sturdy design
Did you forget about the PS2 and its redesigns?
Do you own a Switch?
I've got one and I don't see what's flimsy about it.
Now the dock, yes, that one is flimsy. But the Switch itself is not.
>I have no fucking clue what I am talking about
Three words: Disc Read Error.
At risk of triggering "B-B-B-UT SONY!!!" replies, what percent of PS2 sales do you think were just replacements for the crappy drive in that?
Yeah buddy, if you believe they could make the Switch as sturdy as a Game "literal brick" boy nowadays, be my guest.
>implying the technology wasn't advance back then
I do own a Switch, and thankfully I haven't experienced any of the issues that people keep bringing up in the video's that keep getting spammed here. Still though, the fact that there's been this many incidents this far into the launch period means that there's definitely some issues with the Switch that need ironing out.
Guaranteed there's gonna be a few defective consoles at launch, and the Switch might as well be considered an experimental platform given that it's a console/handheld hybrid, but I don't remember the Wii U having anywhere near this many issues at launch despite it pretty much being the first of its kind.
You're not wrong, but the problem is mostly systematic in that if you're not making your shit in china you're not making a profit. You could have niggers and white trash build them out under much higher management and quality standards in the US, but you end up with only a marginally better product and no money. Same with nips.
>the Switch might as well be considered an experimental platform given that it's a console/handheld hybrid
rare photo of a nintedium ingot before use in factory
It is though
I remember both the launch 360 and PS3 having tons of problems.
This is a problem with every console not just Nintendo or the Switch
>I very occasionally get that red screen that says "the disc cannot be read"
Does this make a psp into a console?
The dock is just an hdmi adapter
I miss that little thing.
I know, I mentioned that in my post
>used to get this
>clean console
>works flawlessly and runs quieter
i need to clean my shit more often
>Drop weight on Gamecube
>Withstands it
>Drop weight on Xbox
>Xbox chucks the weight back in the casters face
Fuck me the original was massive.
>You can play PSP games on a TV
W-why have I never heard of this!?!
I had a Wii and was always a Nintendo fanboy, and that shit had so much shovelware waggleshit that it was disgusting. Even the Smash game on it was fucking dogshit compared to either of the previous ones, and also 4 once that came around.
I spilled fluid on my Wii U gamepad several times and it works perfectly, if you get a PS4 controller wet it's finished
Same here and I play Melee on it daily
>What changed over the years?
Jews
pic related
>Then the Wii U was gameplay and now the Switch is downgraded gameplay.
ftfy
I'm done buying Nintendo products. I quit when the Wii and DS showed me that Nintendo doesn't care about delivering a lasting, high quality product anymore. Underpowered gimmick consoles and handhelds with shitty hinges are where I draw the line.
THEY'RE RIPPING US OFF IN TRADE
Damn you, mine burned out eventually. Disc drive stopped spinning
>What changed over the years?
Planned obsolescence, cheap manufacturing. Nintendo is well aware its fanbase will continue to blow their monthly tugboats on Amiibos and replacement hardware.
A GC is indeed the most recent piece of Nintendo hardware I own, and that's mostly for Smash Melee.
i knew it was going to be this before i clicked
>about delivering a lasting, high quality product anymore
Yeah, let's buy a long lasting high quality PS3 / 360 instead, kek.
Also what's a RRoD / YLoD for 300, Alex.
Hey if technology advanced for game hardware it means it also is more advance in materials and construction wich should mean better quality and sturdyness, dont excuse them you´re not earning money from it, demand better quality stop being a braindead fanboy ffs
You just have to realign the laser. There's a screw somewhere on the assembly that you can rotate to adjust the setting. Shouldn't be hard to Google a guide on it.
>nintenbabies are so assblasted by the truth that they'll accuse you of owning a competitor's product for daring to point out how shit Nintendo's hardware is
Hey man, it's not my fault if Nintendo's quality standards are so low that they release a system with a failure rate that rivals the Xbox 360. Go get mad at Nintendo, not me.
I gave mine to my brother when I got a DS.
He managed to break it within a week, somehow.
>they release a system with a failure rate that rivals
You were talking about the Wii + DS remember? Not the Scratch.
Wii + DS were the only actual high quality, ultra low failure rate consoles back then. Everything else was rubbish.
Nintendo is now catching on and to my surprise tons of people buy into that overpriced literal crap just like with the Piss4. I really can't believe how stupid millennials are.
I was talking about every system since the Wii/DS. Nice try though. My Gameboy from 1992 still works perfectly fine. My DS from 2005 has a broken hinge. Nintendo has been making progressively lower quality products ever since. The truth hurts.
Got mine and Super Mario Sunshine for Christmas in 2002. Still kicking.
>that comment from Minecraft Jonnie Jonnie
lmao
