Just got my first paycheck at my new job

Just got my first paycheck at my new job.

Was gonna buy a Switch to celebrate, but the freezing issues have me second guessing(all the other issues don't bother me)

Should I hold off? I really want MK8D next month, I didn't get a WiiU and really want a good local multi-player game.

The warranty should cover anything really bad with it, right?

I heard the number with dead pixels is being blown out of proportion?

Wait til summer when the release some more games OP

i'm waiting for the switch myself

the launch of brand new hardware can easily suck you into the hype but waiting for more complete and fine tuned models will save you headaches down the line

congrats on the new job user

almost every issue is overblown but you should still wait until holiday

I might, I can't wait longer than that because Splatoon and I wanna play every splatfest though.

Honestly just buy a tablet, itll be stronger than the switch and have internet browser.

Hell, even the sequel of the Zelda mobile clone already looks better than BOTW

>asking Sup Forums for advice on anything new

Go ahead and wait until mk8 when theres a few more games available, and issues such as freezing should warrant a return, and are in the vast minority anyway

I'm waiting for the Switch Deluxe/New Switch/Switch Lite/Switch U or whatever they'll call it

does this guy have giant hands or is the controller that small

Thank you user.

I have an iPad Air 1 I got cheap.

I want Mario Kart and Splatoon a lot.

Zelda and Disgaea 5C too.

while every console Does have its fair share of flaws, the only real defect this console has is the sync issue with the left joycon and even then it can be totally preventable if you know what causes it.

however this is Sup Forums and everyone here is overblowing the problems which is normal for Sup Forums so if you really want it then get it. games actually do look great on the switch

You're a moron if you buy a console in the first year, without exception.

What causes it? Holding it wrong?

Oh shit. Splatoon 2 is going to make me buy this console.
Goddamn.

being distant to the console and having people or your own hand in between the controller and the console, I play fairly close to the switch so I have zero issues, but some people do play far away from their console.

>implying you'll even be able to order one before the first Splatfest comes out

All the splatfests in Splatoon 2 would be over by the time you say it's OK to buy.

Why the fuck are you spending your first cheque on console?? Put it in the war chest. Build you fucking saving. Then buy a switch later

It's like the poor enjoy being poor.

I didn't even realize there were freezing issues

I personally haven't had any issues except a fucking scratch on my screen. Id say if you really wanna play zelda (its fucking great) and don't already have a wii u I would just get this

OP just hold off a couple of months. All you're going to play is zelda then forget about it.
plus its overpriced as shit right now

I live in the UK.
Getting a Switch will be no problem for me.
Hell, we had no stock on launch day, in most places, but my brother got one on Monday he ordered online from Tesco.

Im personally trying to wait for a nice deal on it but I know Im probably not going to make it by the time Mario comes out. And that game is probably going to get delayed.

I'd give it a few months or longer and wait for some hardware revisions.

I got a bit over $2700 this month, I can afford some Vidya.

>buying any console at launch

Switches are REEEEEEing, refusing to start games.

PS4's would randomly eject discs by themselves and had pulsing blue light of death.

I'll play Infinite MK8D next month.

Then Disgaea, and in Summer Splatoon.

>Switches are REEEEing
youtube.com/watch?v=f8kV1qV2UcY

>not just waiting until this Christmas for a bundle

That or the even smarter decision of

>not just waiting until the Switch XL/revision releases a year or two from now

It's really not worth it at this point either way.

>Nintendo release the "New Switch" when Tegra P1 launches

MUH SPLATFESTS

>just got a new job and paycheck
>decides to spend it on video games

Stop wanting to open your wallet for toys you don't need and save your money, you idiot.

Unless you live at home wait for your probation to end.

Or give into all your darkest desires. I don't care.

Well I have no interest in playing online on this thing. Paid online on a Nintendo console is just not a good decision.

I'm anticipating the hack of Nintendo servers when so many people are now going to be putting in their CC/DC info into it. It's going to be an unmitigated disaster. If Sony couldn't handle it? Yeah, Nintendo is like a small toddler at online infrastructure defense.

You'd have to be a fool to input such info into their systems. It won't be until this Christmas until it happens though.

So many mommy and daddies credit info so little time.

The fact you were already planning to buy a new gaming console, a Switch nonetheless, before noticing the issues definitely proves you're bad with money.

Hold off for now. Everything is fine so far with mine save one big issue. Whenever the controllers are disconnected from the unit while in the dock, the wifi signal goes to absolute shit. I'm talking it can't even find my router that's less than 20 feet away.

>Sold some old shit at Gamestop because there are no other stores online.
>Cut the cost of a Switch by 60%
>Gamestop has sold out of Switches to the point that it doesn't even have them on their website right now
>My local GS doesn't even know when they're getting another shipment in

Welp, sucks to be me.

Get BoTW for the Wii u, no issues except more framedrops in towns.

Also get a Pro Controller if you don't have one, U gamepad is annoying.

>because there are no other stores online.

Correction: because there are no other stores near me.

You know what they say about big hands...

You were planning on spending money on vidya with your first paycheck. It's obvious you don't listen to good advice so why bother asking?

>Just got my first paycheck at my new job.
Then save it for food and bills, retard!

I'm waiting to see if maybe they could make a splatoon special edition. Zelda will always be there to me to play, so eh. I just reall dislike both colors available right now.

At the very least wait until they ship the switch with a revised dock that doesn't scratch the screen. We at least know that has gotta be in the works.

Didn't Spawn Wave found a solution for that? It doesn't look that hard to do.

Want some advice? Put it in an RRSP instead

Honestly user, I'd just save the money. I treated myself with a $40 purchase my first paycheck when I got a real job. Better off saving your first few paychecks before doing any big spending.

>mfw the Wii U never dropped in price

Goddamn that thing is going to be a collectors dream. That's just plain rare.

yeah, just solder a small cable to improve the joycons range, I wont do it though, since I don't have those issues cause I play close enough to the switch that nothing has ever happened.

I know 3 people with a switch, including myself. No issues.

I'm pretty sure that shit is super overblown. If there are games you want to play, go for it.

I've had no problems with my Switch so far but I can totally understand wanting to wait.

as someone who bought one on launch: wait.

Zelda spoilers aren't a huge deal since it's more about exploring and making your own fun. Story stuff is an interesting twist on the same formula but you're still not missing much.

wait till the second wave of Switches, hopefully they'll fix issues with the joycons and docks by the time spla2n and E3 announcements.

If that's what you're worried about, just buy prepaid cards.
That's what you should be doing for all game systems anyway, after all the issues with PSN and Steam.

All my bills including food come to less than $1000 a month.

I was just gonna use a screen protector.

im using a screen protector and its fine.

>buying videos games with your first earnings
I con't care how poor or rich you are, that's still a dumb thing to do. Especially with a new product that has a significant amount of consumer backlash.

I'm not worried about it at all and I don't own it yet.

I'm just stating facts.

There's going to be a whole lot of kid's parents out there scared about their credit card info about say 3 months into any major online-necessary multiplayer game and sadly they're not informed enough of this.

Sharks to the blood. I'd be damned if I actually paid to play online on a Nintendo console. At least Sony cleaned up their act. Nintendo has yet to even be tested.

Why would you want a Switch XL? The thing is way huge for a handheld anyway.

There are freezing issues?

What?

I've been playing mine all day for the last 3 days and haven't hit anything.

enlighten me.

Well, it's kinda big for a handheld and way too underpowered for a console.

I recon they'll do a more powerful version down the line that still works as a big handheld tablet but just a big guy 4 U.

Then release a cheaper more portable version of the original without dock. I mean come on now. It makes the most sense.

People like you who make these threads are usually bad with their money and already made up their minds. With all the big problems the Switch has, you still have some urge to throw your money away. This thread is worthless.

I don't doubt we get a reissue but it'll be in 3 years, not one.

And I really don't think they'll get much bigger.

Pretty sure its overblown.
My zelda machine havent froze once yet

Just get it user. I tried to hold on until Christmas but couldn't resist, and it's pretty good, just make sure to read all the PSAs on r/nintendswitch

>Zelda mobile clone
What's the name?

Honestly, it's worth it if you like Nintendo games, all the games it offers are unique.

As for the switch, avoid at all costs.

amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00WNLID12/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new

>I heard the number with dead pixels is being blown out of proportion?
If it's more than 0 it's going to bother you
As it should

They need to rethink then.

Three years is a bit much. Two maybe. Hit Microsoft and Sony right in between. Three years could possibly coincide with a PS5 upset and they'll probably have pure backward compatibility with PS4 which will destroy everything.

They need to get this thing off the floor and surging like the Wii did.

The thing is already pretty powerful for a handheld though. I could see them release a new dock with extra power at some point instead, for better home console performance.

I'm contemplating getting the extended battery too, it's also 50% less from Nintendo than Amazon.

Just go buy a WiiU on craigslist. Not only will come with more, better, games but you can mod it and it will all come at a fraction of the cost.

Issues are overblown, but at least wait until MK 8 Deluxe if you're not fine with Zelda and Fast RMX for almost 2 months.

Go buy it user, i havent had a single issue with the Switch yet. Its an amazing system.

Im in the UK and i cant find one anywhere. Its sold out even online.

you're an amazing system

Save your paycheck and buy yourself a small vacation OP, Switch ain't getting shit til Holiday Season anyways.
Alternatively, invest in a 3D Printer and some sewing products to fix the hardware design fuckups, keep your console alive longer, and make it look more fashionable than that dull fucking gray.

>got my first paycheck
>i'm going to blow a portion of it on a broken video game console with no games

You're never going to make it in the workforce, Op.

>posting a picture some girl from reddit took

heres some good advice. If you want a switch to play mario kart 8, then wait till the game comes out and decide than. By then more info about te hardware would have been brought up and possibly smoothed over. Plus supply should be stabilized by than, where it wont be ridiculously hard to get a switch.

Never buy a console at launch.

What would you get on the occasion, then?

I have no idea, I probably would not consider my first paycheck all that special.

>not saving it because it looks cute
>not saving it for reference to prevent ugly fucking scratches on the screen without applying a protector
Uhhhhh are you brain damaged my guy?
