Just get the xbone controller poorfag.

get the wutang controller pleb

DS4 is much better, way more comfy and solidly built.

xbone

How much if a hassle is it to connect an Xbone controller to PC? Is it just bluetooth?

Yes it is
Overly expensive
Awesome but can't be found
Lol no

>solidly built

But the analogues peel themselves by normal use and triggers break. If anything the controllers feels cheap as fuck.

Also 4-5 hours of battery life, the lowest in the market.

bluetooth or get the dongle

the cross pad is shite but i had mine for like 8 years now

buy the 10€ adapter, what are you poor?

Nope, those was only issues on 2013 controllers.
And on PC you can dim or turn off the light for a 6+ hour battery life.

DS4 is easily #1 for PC just by having the option to connect it via bluetooth for when you play on a big TV as well as having a touchpad if you need a mouse for opening the game and changing windows settings.

But you would be using a DS4

Yes, the best controller on the market.

6 hours is still the lowest in the market.

You can use controller companion to control the mouse with the analogues every time there's not a game or Steam big picture open, it works fucking flawlessly, it detects it automatically.

Also you can connect the Xbone controller via bluetooth, but there's also a dongle that allows 4 controllers, automatic xinput and full compatibility with every fucking game on the go.

Yeah I've had my 360 controller for about 8 years as well and I finally replaced it with a steam controller.
The left analog stick was worn to the plastic and it floated to the left a lot.
Other than the floating left stick and shitty dpad, no complaints.

Go Xboxone, you won't regret it. best controller ever made. So comfy. The sticks feel good.
AND THE DAMN X BUTTON ISN'T RIGHT NEXT TO THE START BUTTON LIKE ON THE 360.

It can be the best when the Switch Pro, the Xbone and the Wii U Pro are better.

The DS4 is only used by people who only used the DS3 prior to it.

DS4 has the same Xinput compatibility just by using DS4Windows.

Once I got a PS4, I completely abandoned the 360 pad I was using on my PC.

Yes. The only issue is the dpad and I heard the later models were "fixed". The dpad isn't great, but not as unusable as people would have you believe. And it's like half the price of every other controller worth shit, at least the wired one.

just plug in via usb in. bam

I prefer the Xbox One controller. Its actually pretty big for my hands unlike the DS4 is really small and causes hand cramps akin to carpel tunnel

one of PDP's wired XB1 controllers with the removable microUSB cable is the best deal for the dollar-- it's only $30

the best feature is the fact that the microUSB port is recessed so that you cannot accidentally bent the cable too close to the controller, damaging your cable's plug or the port.

yes I fucking hate that the dpad is so shit though

It connects automatically because the driver is native

Using xbone controller and have zero complaints. That's my recommendation.

Wii U Pro controller is what I use now, used to use a 360 controller for everything but got tired of the wires. I have a DS4 as well but don't like it as much and the battery power for the Wii U controller is really long.

It's pretty easy to set up with bluetooth

Not anymore

>digital triggers

he said price to performance, how much does one of those cost?

If your on Windows 7 you might still have to download it, I had to but that might be because I have windows updates set to manual.

Regardless it still only takes a minute to get it from microsoft.

can't say I've ever once had a problem with hitting the start button by accident

>If your on Windows 7 you might still have to download it
Windows Live should automatically see it and download the driver if you don't have it

>$70
>Sold out everywhere
>Over $100 from scalpers
Yeah no fuck off.

Yeah it didn't for me but like I said DLing the driver manually is not a big deal.

i have big thumbs

>walmart had two of these at 25 bucks the other day
>go in the next day to buy one and they're all gone

Anyone have one of the cheap bootleg ones? I imagine they're comfy because of the same shape but I'm worried about shit buttons and battery.

ds4 has the shittest analog sticks ever thought of, using that shit on a pc needs extra driver and shit that you gotta run everytime you plug it in. Xbox controller is plug and play. plus better trigger by TEN FOLD

is the steam controller worth it? i want to replace my old xb controller and being able to use the steam controller on even mouse based games sounds cool

I bought this a week ago for PC gaming. It's basically an Xbox one controller clone. Build quality is good, triggers and buttons are nice but the bumpers could be a bit more 'clicky'. D pad is good.

Supports Xbox one, Xinput, DirectInput
Wireless
Rechargable with micro USB
12-15 hours use

I know it sounds like I'm shilling the product but for price-performance it's great. Xbox One controller + recharge kit + wireless adaptor is like $90

you can also turn off all the 'gaymer' lights

Is S version do nice ? Just ordered or still still same but with customized color design ?

>DS4 is easily #1 for PC just by having the option to connect it via bluetooth for when you play on a big TV as well as having a touchpad if you need a mouse for opening the game and changing windows settings.

this desu

>Is S version do nice ?

I have pic related and am quite happy with it.
Was less expensive than the wireless xbox one as well.

the squishy d-pad, plus the fact that at least on mine the d-pad is kind of fucked up and doesn't go "up" right and the analog stick top pads keep loosening themselves somehow even with replacements, are huge detractors

still my absolute preferred controller for anything on my pc, especially emulators - just wish I could afford an xbone pro mlg 360 slowscope phase it faggot 420 edition controller but it sounds like it might also have dpad issues

>couchcuck
Might as well be playing a console you faggot.

Plug in via the charger cable and it should automatically connect. You can also buy a wireless adapter from ebay, usually for pretty cheap and you can get the wireless going fine.

You can also connect a PS3 controller via a standard usb cable, but theres some system work arounds you have to go through and a 3rd party program you'll have to get. But the process isn't hard and should only take 15 minutes.

Have that one and the wired version, one poke on it got half loose and is really jiggly, sometimes the controller lags and doesnt give button inputs, especially once you get a couple meters distance from it. The wired version was pretty much the same without the lag issue, plug its cheaper so id really recommend that one. Its trigger got stuck though
Considering if I should buy the wired one again, it did survive many many hours

For ~$30 absolutely, if you are just playing typical 3D AAA trash.

For 2D/Retro gaming, you'll probably want something better.
