Despite what you currently think of it, what would you have done to make it better for you?

Despite what you currently think of it, what would you have done to make it better for you?

I would have loved to see some sort of random enemy generation

Even though there's several ways to increase your movement speed and you can use Stamina, movement is still too static for me, especially the climbing.

Maybe it's asking for too much in a game like this but I'd like some way to launch myself long distances at a high speed, like portable cubes usable with Magnesis/Stasis.

you can make a seesaw and have it launch you

There is that WebM everyone has seen a million times, but it's pretty clear that the game doesn't actually want you to do that

I want to explore her dungeon.

Remove flashbacks and just make the "memories" part of the fucking storyline. God that was a stupid decision. They will probably try to sell that as DLC to be honest this is fucking retarded.

I have yet to play the game but from watching it I think the score is weak. I would like it more with more iconic zelda music.

That's literally my only complaint from watching game play though, weapons do seem to break fast but it also seems quite easy to get more so it doesn't seem like a huge deal.

small hearts return as random items that heal
all weapons have more durability

optional realistic mode where you need to eat or you start losing hearts once hungry

It was done to remove linearity. If they were part of the main story, link would always need to be in the right place at the right time for the plot to progress and that goes against what the point of the game was

I think they did the best they possibly could have given the gameplay circumstances.

However I do hate that the flashbacks are all in super specific spots that are a chore to find. Finding my first flashback was the only point in the game I was frustrated enough to want to stop playing. It should have been something as simple as looking in a certain direction or being in roughly the correct area

Weapons more durable or more weapon inventory.
Not looking like shit, even for a Wii U game.

Hard to say aside from that. The last games I played until Zelda were Xenoblade Chronicles and Demon's Souls. Those just seem on entirely different level for me.

I'd have remove the voice acting

Hell, I'd rebuy the game if only they removed the voice acting

also lengthen the shrines a bit. 1 room is too little, especially the ones opened viaoverworld feats like Veiled Falls

you can easily find them by talking to the painting guy in the stalls nigger.
git gud

Stall guy? Where is that?

Think he means the stables. The painter guy you meet in Kakariko will pop up in certain stables and give you hints for some of the pictures (mayne have to do his side quest first before he stats appearing)

I love the game as is, but if you're returning to Zelda 1's original formula, you should have dungeons. The engine is amazing, I'd love to see them in the game with how you can complete everything.

>what would you have done to make it better for you

>actual dungeons
>no stamina
>no crafting autism
>no durability
>not a sandbox

No weapon degradation.

Make it so you can drop weapons, shields and bows from the quick-select menu. Fuck.

>Maybe it's asking for too much in a game like this

Morrowind literally did this. I don't see why it's too much.

I would have liked an actual Zelda game.

More item slots to start. Not a whole lot, but maybe 3 more for weapons and one more for bows and shields. I dont have any issue with the durability, in fact I think its the only game that implements it well, but I was constnatly drowning in weapons at the start until I upgraded the slots with korok seeds a whole lot. And even now I still get that "slots full" message, though not as often as before.

2-3 more enemy types would be nice too, like likes would be perfect with the durability but I can see why they didnt have any since in the open field you could just run away, they are much better in closed, cramped hallways and rooms. Same with redeads.

My complaints are pretty minor though, I honestly think its the best Zelda to date.

This, or at least a throw shield and bow option

A few more enemy types (Redeads, Leevers, peahats etc)

restrictions on how much you can eat at a time.

companions other than wolf Link

Seasons and Festivals (and a calendar app for the slate)

With any luck we'll get some updates to things that aren't completely fleshed out

it's not too horrible, mostly have to figure out the landmarks. Also some NPCs will tell you some of the locations.

So you want to play twilight princess?

Would have been better than BotW.

Performance improvement for wii u. Why can I fight a fucking GIGANTIC dragon in the mountains with a fairly stable framerate but going to to a village/stable drops into a jittery sub-20fps is fucking baffling or having a 1-2 second freeze when I kill a moblin some times. Also stamina needs to be better adjusted for dashing and jumping. Dashing is fucking ridiculous. It's like a 2 second dash with default stamina in a giant open world game. You need better movement options and the horse isn't practical a lot of times because of terrain types. Also jumping while climbing feels worthless. It just drains so much stamina to the point you'll likely only using it when you're almost at the top or an edge to stand on. They just need to tone down the fucking dragin on it a tad. I'm not asking for something crazy but shit at least make it more pleasant. Also I feel like weapon durability could be increased across the board a tad. I'm fine with breaking but when it happens in one or two battles that's a bit much. Just a slight overall boost to it would alleviate a bit of annoyance.

Those are really my only complaints.

...

Bring back a few more of the traditional items. Imagine exploring that world with a hookshot and Pegasus Boots.

SO MUCH

>Cut the world size in half
>Remove 60 of the shrines, preferably those without an associated shrine quest.
>Spirit orbs now only need 2 to improve yourself.
>Use that extra development time to make more enemies.
>Completely scrap Lizalfos elemental variants just have a regular type
>Completely scrap the durability system.
>Add in actual music to the overworld,
>If it's such a fucking issue just make it a long 30 minute ambient track that loops
>Get the people who made music the past 3D
Zelda games, not the fucking Animal Crossing composer.
>Completely scrap all of the dungeons
>New Dungeons are subterranean Temples with entrances found in the overworld.
>Traditional Zelda styled Dungeons, not a giant shrine
>Dual audio options, if not hire some theater actors for VA like Dark Souls does it
>After you eat an item you're booted out of the menu and forced to watch Link eat the item in game, like the Estus Drinking Animation
>Maybe include a hotkey to eat an item to prevent menu fuckery.
>Scrap the story, start from anew, the whole fucking thing is a mess.
>Unique movesets for certain weapons, the way Dark Souls does it. Doesn't have to be too complex, just a little bit unique.
>Directional attacks depending on Z target status and control stick position like other Zelda games
>Maybe some TP style hidden techniques for the Sword

Now it's a 7.5/10 instead of a 6/10.

>make the game worse in every way
>now give it a 7.5

REALLY
MAKES
YOU
THINK

>Use that extra development time to make more enemies

>implying designing levels based on consolidated mechanics and assets takes the same amount of time as designing and balancing enemies
>implying it's even the same team

just kill yourself

In what way is it worse?
Well then what the fuck was their excuse? Incompetence?

I liked TP more than BotW, but deep down I know modern Nintendo couldn't keep their shit together long enough to even reach that level of quality. MM is my favorite 3D Zelda to date and I think it captured everything that particular avenue of game design could and should be, at least to some extent.

Maybe make weapon durability a bit less aggressive.

spirit orbs are heart pieces you nong since when did you only need 2

tedious eating animations are annoying

jesus christ dude just go play dark souls if you want dark souls

i do agree on the dungeons not being too great

>spirit orbs are heart pieces you nong since when did you only need 2
They are a substitute to Heart Pieces, and it's the only way of making the game work with the amount of Hearts that you have. If It still required 4, then you'd need 120 shrines, which is unnecessary because the world has been cut in about half. If you cut the shrines in half, and take the best elements from each Shrine, they become less tedious, and that's more hypothetical "dev time" for other elements of the game.
>tedious eating animations are annoying
But if there's an animation that plays you can no longer cheese the whole game by just eating cooked food anytime you're about to die. Now you have to run off to a safe spot in the middle of combat and eat. It adds risk to the healing factor, and it now requires a bit of skill to pull off properly. This is something they actually did with Skyward Sword, yet never kept for god knows why.

My main gripes are weapon durability first. Regardless of fan damage control, the initial weapons are completely useless outside of the quick sword you find.

The other is the fuckin stamina gauge. Like for what purpose? Pacing? You cant even use that as an excuse for how pathetically bad it is. The point isnt that you can upgrade the shit either, it shouldnt be a thing at all. Limitations arent progression, they're just gameplay hinderances used as placeholders and ideas the devs DIDNT have.

the initial stamina meter is pathetic

Can't they just fix a lot of these in patches?

Honestly the only thing that really irritated me sometimes is the inventory.

Why are the food materials and parts materials in the same category?

I hope they will do better with the inventory in the next one.

And maybe make the special weapons you get from the Gurudo, Rito, etc. like the master sword and have it recharge.

That's very wishful thinking. Nintendo first party rarely patches shit unless it's dlc to make them money now.

>There is that WebM everyone has seen a million times
I don't think I've seen this WebM.

Because they are all crafted in the same spot

I wish Ganondorf's horse actually had stamina.
I also wish there was a Ganondorf set or something similar.
best husbando

Standardized weapon system.
Which would allow for variety in movesets, and make weapons more of a meaningful choice rather than just picking up whatever has the highest power.

2 to 4 more dungeons. The main story is super lacking.

Reduce size of the world by about 25% or increase links running, climbing and gliding speed by 25%. World traversal is super slow and annoying.

Would be nice if there were -some- Zelda staples. A hookshot would be great in the context of Breath of the Wild, and actually useful.

Also I'd like to actually be able to buy more than 5 or so arrows at a time. It's a massive pain in the ass.

>Despite what you currently think of it, what would you have done to make it better for you?

>Enemies that roam
Self explanatory. It would create interesting and dynamic situations
>More Shrine type experiences that aren't just one puzzle.
Why not have one that's three layers deep and has a couple combat challenges mixed in? I found ONE that was somewhat like this. They should be more common
>Remove voice acting
It's SO badly done in the English version.

I found one that had several rooms once. It was a really nice change of pace. It had several puzzles and a couple enemies too.

These types of posts trigger the living fuck out of me.

Such retarded complaints.

>These types of post trigger me

What? The game is too big. It tanks the performance and the graphical fidelity. If they reduced the game world they could actually improve performance.
>retarded complaints

Your complaints are just as retarded. I liked the shrines being short and sweet one step challenges.

>just picking up whatever has the highest power.

So you threw away the snipe bow?

I never got a snipe bow, I did use the triple and 5 shot bows because they're fucking ridiculous man.

A bit more enemy variety

Some redeads and the pineapples would have been neat.

Also I would love if the shrine powers would restore to full after you rest at an inn. As it is now there is almost no actual reason to sleep at an inn.

>It's SO badly done in the English version.
people keep saying this but maybe my standards for video game voice acting are just so low that I think it's totally fine

I feel the same. I wouldn't point out BotW as an example of voice acting done well, but I never thought it was awful.

I want my Zelda items. I want a hookshot. I want iron boots. I want a functional boomerang. I want keys in dungeons. I want the boss key "oh shit" moment. I want the 10 second animation of Link opening a chest followed by the "duh nuh nuh naaah".
I feel like these things are just staples of Zelda games, why are they absent from this one? You get all the runes up front so it feels more and more boring as time goes on.

Also where's the iconic Zelda music? Every Zelda game has its own iconic, catchy theme and this one just doesn't. It's just light piano here and there. It's definitely atmospheric, but I feel like I have no theme to associate this game with.

THEMED SHRINES PLEASE

Seriously there is no reason why shrines all have this boring technological look to them. They don't all have to have different themes, but it would be cool if there were some that were inside of trees and had a foresty look, or underwater shrines. Basically just make them the mini temples they should be.

Magic meter. There is no reason this game should not have used magic for the arrows or even spells with the cooking system it has in place. Would be simple to make potions or food to restore magic.

user, it is so fucking bad that I turned off Mipha's Grace so I wouldn't have to hear her anymore
I literally mute memories to avoid Zelda's horrid ear-raping voice

I would literally pay Nintendo more money to have the option to turn that shit off.

There simply is no overstating how bad it is.

>Gorons
>Race or rock eating beast people
>Sounds like a whiny teenager

There are some baffling decisions in Botw's voice acting department.

No way to feasible to do with the amount of shrines.

I would like the core set of runes to be used in mini-dungeons, which there might be 5-6 of. Similar to mini-dungeons in past games but maybe a little longer in length, and they would have actual dungeon items in them for actual themed dungeons. I would just prefer another attempt at this formula over going back to the old one

I prefer this boomerang to the old ones. They would use the boomerang the same in every single game, except TP where its just LOL WIND, where its an exact same switch puzzle you would use your bow except there is a wall in the way. Boomerangs make for boring ass puzzles.

No dungeon bow. No dungeon bomb. Oh its the bow dungeon, oh I am just going to be hitting switches. Oh its the bomb dungeon, I better look out for cracked walls and use the bomb for delayed switch puzzles.

The problem as you keep making more of the same formula Zelda games is they reuse shit constantly. It leads to shit like the Spinner. Super gimmick for a dungeon that isn't used anywhere else but that dungeon, and out of the dungeon in the overworld its just extremely minor.

It's not bad actors, but 100% of the voice direction is horseshit.

I wish that VA was here. He was posting last night. He literally voiced three characters in the game. I'd wonder what he has to say. I didn't have any issues with the ones he was involved with though, I'll say that right out.
