As was I. Ranger is a playable character in Q3A you doof, and he looked a hell of a lot better there than he does in Q:C.

That's disappointing. I would have checked myself but I don't have Q3A or QL installed right now so fuck it. Could've sworn I heard a classic HUH in one of the Q:C trailers but that might've been my imagination.

It might mean a return of public interest in 90s-style shooters with an actual skill ceiling IF it's done right.

Zenimax-Bethesda's marketing power is huge. They could serve the masses the shit on a plate that was Fallout 4 and make them like it, so hopefully their influence can make Quake Arena's formula popular again.

I mostly hope that has better bots to play against when the game inevitably dies after three months.

I have no illusions that this is going to collapse just like Q4, considering Q4 (once it had a few patches) became objectively better than Q3A and QL and people still refused to pick it up because it was slightly different.

As much as I'd love for it to be a Heretic/Hexen reference, that symbol is not exclusive to that series and is used in real life too.

It's a circle jump and one strafe. Primarily your circle jump has to be good enough.

Keep trying; it took me about 8 hours of constant practice before I was able to be even 20% consistent.

Believe me I want it too, it's my favorite series, Hexen in particular, I'm just being realistic so I'm not disappointed later. If there's in-game dialog from the player characters and it is a reference then we'll know for sure.

It's also worth noting that Heretic/Hexen is not owned by id and they've never referenced the series in any game they've made, unlike Raven when they did Wolf2009.

At this point they've pretty much doled out everything that we were shown at the Con. We got to see all the new characters that have been revealed so far, and all of the footage in the most recent trailers. If the game somehow looks slow in the trailers that's because it's a trailer, watching fatality and draqu and all those guys actually put the game in motion made me a believer.

As a side note, if you side-by-side the weapon stats on their website with current QL weapons, they're basically the same. They buffed the LG back to 7 per tick, though, which is pretty great. It seems like they're really focused on using the feel of the original holy trinity of rockets, LG, and rail as the anchor to balance the game around.

By the time 7th or 8th overtime came around my bladder nearly exploded. They actually give out free beer at the finals parties.

The champs had varying amounts of base health. I think Ranger was the basis, and everyone else varied from there (Visor with more, Anarki with less).

These little additions are the kind of things I remember coming up with for Turok: Rage Wars sequel I always hoped for.
