Why do people dislike this game now?
Why do people dislike this game now?
the zelda cycle
It hasnt aged well.
>It hasnt aged well.
>frogposter
Opinion discarded.
It's too much like a video game.
Because that faggot animator made a video a few years ago saying it was overrated, so all of the shitter underageb& that watch his shit and browse Sup Forums mimic his opinion without actually playing the game
to be contrarian faggots. it will go down in history as a masterpiece, and will be recognized as such 500 years from now and beyond.
Contrarianism, OoT is one of the most important and influential games ever made whether you like it or not.
It's boring.
The only thing about OoT that hasn't aged well are the graphics, and even that's debatable.
The reason why people don't like OoT is because faggots like OP keep trying to shove it down our throats by constantly posting about it on Sup Forums
>now
I never even really liked it as a kid, only played it cause it was popular.
Too video gamey
I thought it was shit when I played the same game for the 3rd time and saw the flaws.
As a kid
no one cares about ff tactics tho
There were loads of games that were more influential, I still like OOT and I don't get why Sup Forums collectively seems to dislike it. It has some flaws like a low FPS (which was normal back then), a long tutorial, and Hyrule Field feels empty, but it's still like a 7 or a 7.5/10 game imo
Do they? It's a pretty good game
It's a good game, but let's not beat around the bush, it has some flaws.
>unskippable cutscenes (I don't care if you think it's not alot, it's a flaw and should not be)
>doesn't run at 60 FPS
>way too casual with no difficulty modes or replayability in mind
>useless garbage sidequests like the happy mask or the running man
>hyrule field has nothing in it but worthless grottos filled with rupees that you'll be swarming in by the endgame
>enemies are retarded and too easily baited into being killed instantly, like wolfos
>only a few of the dungeons are well thought out, like the water temple, because it actually invokes a central theme and makes you think of where you are spacially, as opposed to other dungeons which are piss easy and designed to be beaten in a few minutes
>horse riding is a lame gimmick
Just a few issues I found.
Keep in mind that a lot of the people that trash it now are teens or early twenty millennial scum that didn't play it when it first came out and grew up playing 7th gen garbage. I think most people that played it back in the day still fondly remember it, and probably have it in their top ten list somewhere. Outside of the whole age thing, it's just your usual contrarianism that you see everywhere on Sup Forums.
Sup Forums is le edgy contrarian center
nintendo is pretty shit now but you can't deny the impact this game had.
Not at all. People are finally beginning to acknowledge its greatness again
Too fun. Can't have that
>>way too casual with no difficulty modes or replayability in mind
This is pretty unfair. Why would they, at the beginning of 3D games, make an extremely hard 3D game? It'd only make people dislike the game since it's punishing you for not being experienced in a mode for video games that had only just started existing.
contrarianism/hipsterism
>a few years ago
no way that shit came out in like 2011 or 2012
>2014
what the fuck
Egoraptor said it sucked so it's shit
i do
i want A3 for my 3DS
i played it when it was new and i thought it was crap. was super glad i had the PSX and could play FF7 instead
That's a fair assessment for the N64 release, but they had the perfect opportunity to fix that in the 3DS remake, but all they added was some poorly made boss rush garbage that doesn't even make the bosses harder to compensate. So I still count it as a flaw against the original as well because, with the 3DS version, it shows that it was intentional that they didn't add in a hard mode. The absolute worst part is that gimping yourself doesn't make the game harder either. At 3 hearts you can still massacre everything in the game, including ganon himself who can be stunned from no less than 4 of your weapons, be it arrows, light arrows, deku nuts,
or hookshots. And this is the amazing "final boss"? Honeslty, he's only hyped up because of the atmosphere surrounding it, which isn't bad, but he needs more substance instead of being purely style.
The 3DS remake included the Master Quest it was just locked behind the original game.
Because Sup Forums is a faggy cancerous board where people circle jerk about how they dont like games even though its a videogame board. Then someone new comes too the board and they need someone else to tell them what their opinion should be and all they see is dumb faggots talking about how shit every video game is, and then the cycle continues.
Part of Zelda is the story and not the challenge. I'd be glad for a more challenging Zelda game but as you said, the final boss was "amazing" because of the atmosphere and what led up to it.
I'm okay with that, though I will gladly take a challenge mode.
The master quest wasn't much more than a jumbling of puzzles and rooms, but it did nothing for enemy AI or making the combat more satisfying. And that was really the underlying issue. I have trouble wanting to go back and play it because the draw of the game was really the story, and once I know that it doesn't have the same power on a second playthrough.
I am not very fond of a game whose strongpoint is the atmosphere and the story. If you stripped those out, can the gameplay hold up under scrutiny? Probably, but not very well.
Because they've never played it. Generally, the biggest complaint from people is that the graphics don't hold up. Even that could be subjective.
Because Dark Souls proved that Zelda was always trash.
Step aside, Nintendo. Based From will take it from here.
What hasn't aged well? I completed OOT 3D for the first time last December and thought it was amazing.
OOT 3D was pretty much the closest to perfection I've seen in game form, the only thing I can think bad about it is that I wish the designers mixed up the dungeon items a little bit more. By the time you become adult Link it becomes predictable that you get X item in the dungeon and X item is the main item you use for that dungeon and against that dungeon's boss. For that reason I actually think the very end of OOT where you are in Ganon's castle and you have all those different rooms based on the dungeons but requiring you to an expanded selection of items is the best part of the game. If the whole game was like that it would be literally perfect.
A Link to the Past has much nicer graphics. HD tvs weren't around yet for the N64 so it was even worse looking back then.
It sucks , its it cane out
Boring af
>I don't get why Sup Forums collectively seems to dislike it.
what bizarro world Sup Forums do you browse?
It aged like a fine wine. Everything the game did right amazes me more today than it did when I was a kid.
full of padding in place of real content, like seriously what is the fucking point of trash like the hover boots
Played OOT on release, and replayed like once around GC launch, and took until a few months ago to get around to OOT3DS. Its a good game but I feel like there is nothing to do except go into another dungeon. It just feels like you dungeon crawl way too hard and the side quests/activities aren't worth it. Looking back at this after playing every Zelda game, this was the game that really started dungeon items/themes and they never really expanded the idea after MM masks versus items.
On the other hand, I played MM for the first time with MM3DS at the same time and felt it was a much stronger game overall. Cut the dungeons down by half while filling the world with useful masks and the overworld was less tedious to travel. Great Bay sucked but the dungeons were all pretty good otherwise.
>They've never played it!
OCARINA
OF FUCKING TIME
>They've never played it~!
WHAT
I feel like the open world gets used up in the first half of the game, the second have feels so uninspired since most of the dungeons are in previously traversed locations
>time travel
>everything looks exactly the same except zora's domain is frozen and hyrule town is dead
wooow
it came out 19 years ago dawg, I bet half of Sup Forums didn't even play it
I don't dislike it.
It's just "okay."
that's because the "seven years in the future" shit was just a coma dream Link was under when Ganon came in and fucked him up for opening the Door of Time, leading to the Hero's Defeat timeline
Nintendo needs to bury their own games in order to make BotW look slightly better.
I never thought it was 10000/10 and I bought it when it came out. A guy at work the other day told me I was just parroting Egoraptor and that bothers me.
...
Miyazaki should know a thing about deep lore
>miyazaki
this old fuck is the guy who made the souls games?
Is half of Sup Forums posting in this thread?
Yes, but now he's going back to movies.
