Why the fuck can't Nintendo keep these things in stock?
dumb question
Owners, report in. What are your experiences so far? Pros? Cons? Recommendations? I want to know if this thing is a "wait and see" or a "buy it now".

>Console rife with quality control issues and zero worthwhile exclusives
It'll be worth picking up two years from now after it has games and a hardware revision or two.
Got it day one, So far my experience has been positive. The biggest gripes so far is the barebones OS (but it is super slick and not slow like the Wii U) and that the joy-cons are sort of hard to take out. Otherwise it's ding everything as promised. played Zelda on TV, handheld, and table-top. All looks good.
Played some jap games, some poyo poyo (?) vs Tetris and DragonQuest heroes demos.
The OS will no doubt be improved, the joy-con thing is because I'm neurotic about the screen that I don't want to touch.
Handheld with Joycons feels very sturdy, nothing like those people claimed felt flimsy.
Forgot to add, DragonQuest Heroes looks nice considering it's more or less a portable but it is not optimized well at all. Some areas are steady 30 fps but you get these really really bad fps drops.
Such a sexy console. Put a glass screen protector. Should be called Apple Switch.
Can you confirm if you can play SNES games online with friends? I keep hearing this rumor
What SNES games? I wasn't aware anything was released.
The SNES games on the virtual console?
Yes they are adding online capabilities to classic games from what I read on their website.
I'm hearing a lot of tales of FPS drops on launch titles. Is it a huge issue or just on a few games so far?
Glad your experience has been positive. IRL, I have a friend who got one on launch. He showed it to me at the gym, it was pretty amazing to see him take it out of his bag and just turn it on right there and show me Zelda. It really wowed me, which is part of the reason I'm looking for opinions. Hunting one down is going to be a chore.
>quality control issues
I've heard rumors but I remember the launch of the PS2 and the PS3 and the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One and the PS4 and hardware issues are not really unheard of.
I received one of the first 100 PS2's manufactured for North America. Surprise, it Red Screened with "Disc Read Error" on Christmas morning playing Madden.
It must not be released yet because I don't see any of that on my Switch. I'll post to confirm once it happens I guess.

Doesn't this plastic tablet have like 4 titles including 12 switch and shovel knight?
I have seen a lot of console UI errors. Everything usually switches around well but it doesn't really hold up unless you take extremely good care of it.
In short it is almost unreasonably undurable. but that is just hearsay from some of my friends.
Got two of them day one, one for me, one for my brother.
My general experience has been extremely positive. The joycons feel good, the screen looks really nice, and I can play it for 4+ hours every day.
It's a little heavy, and the button/joystick layout is not perfect. I did run into the issue when the console is docked, the left joycon just disconnects randomly. That's made it so I never dock it.
That's a bummer. But I play on hopefully getting a pro controller if I'm ever going to play a game where docking makes a difference.
Being able to play Zelda on handheld is incredible. I take it with me all the time. I can't stop thinking about the game, and I still have so much left to do in it.
That being said, I wouldn't have gotten a switch except for the fact that I work at walmart and knew I could get a guaranteed pre-order (as well as a collector's edition zelda). I would have instead waited until at least Mario Odyssey came out before getting one. Hopefully kinks would have been worked out, or at the very least you'd have a lineup worth risking $300 on.
Also fuck those joycon straps. Those are absolute pieces of shit
>I'm hearing a lot of tales of FPS drops on launch titles.
So far I've played Zelda and FAST racing RMX. FAST is constant 1080p 60fps. Zelda does have some fps issues however, but they're not game breaking or anything.
My friend got Bomberman, the game just isn't optimized well, some issues there. I am Setsuna runs well.
Not sure, Need to get some games, or just wait and see for some new releases.
>owners report in
>left joycon just disconnects randomly. That's made it so I never dock it.
Do the system update if you haven't already and disconnect the joycon and reconnect them. I haven't had any issues, but that's what I've heard works.
Tried it, doesn't work.
The discount is nice too. Walmart didn't charge taxes for some reason.
It is a dumb question because Nintendo has done this enough times that you should know the answer. By being perpetually out of stock, they create the impression that there is a huge demand for the console. It creates hype and Nintendo loses nothing because if a potential buyer doesn't find one in stock, then he'll just buy one at the next available opportunity.
This isn't just unique to Nintendo. PS3s were frequently out of stock when it was newer despite the ridiculous price tag and the lack of games apart from MGS4.
Strange, hopefully that gets sorted out.
What are the odds of a console + game bundle coming out for the holidays? Or even an improved version of the Switch? I don't want to buy one and have a superior version come out a few months later.
thats omega force for you though, they can't optimize for shit, regardless of platform.
its impossible to have it stand and charge at the same time
joycons on the tablet are very uncomfortable
i really want to play it while laying down but lel battery life
So far my only con is the joy cons in the holder for them isnt the best. I got a pro controller and I love the system so far. The library is non existent right now, but the console itself has a ton of potential. Been going around playing snipperclips with friends in tabletop mode, especially with the carry case the thing is very portable.
I should test to see if my brother's left joycon works or not.
I've played it a few times at my buddies place. BOTW has hella frame dips. Game looks sharper and plays better when not docked though? Small scuffs on bottom right of the gamepad from docking. I was going to buy him some ikea floorstrips and bring them over this weekend as a gift. Controller feels like, oddly heavy, poorly balanced for holding with one hand. It's just unwieldy imo. I will probably get a switch come christmas or whenever the "switch2" comes out where they fix a bunch of bullshit. I already went through the screen scratching 3DS shit and my new 3ds came broken out of the box and after like 4 rmas I gave up on nintendo being competent.
I just want to play monster hunter on my tv.
I like how quick it boots up and loads a game and I'm playing in no time. Absolute complete opposite of the Wii U. Wii U had a god damn load screen for every little thing.
Why the fuck would you buy a nogames console?
>those satisfying noises as you click the buttons and launch into your game
Fuck this console could be really really nice.
>3 fucking layers of thermal paste
No wonder it overheats
I love using the joycons in each hand without the controller dock. Right analogue doesnt bother me at all, but I am dissapointed with the lack of a proper dpad
It's the goat handheld.
It really is. I haven't touched anything ever since.
Any of you fuckers know when Target is getting their next shipment in? I was sure this one secret hidden one I know of would have them stocked after the second shipment but these hillbilly scalpers camping this shit out.
*else
Nintenfags always got Iwata's cock shoved so far up their asses
Nigga just wait like the problems are real.
Can the Pro Controller be scalped for big money? I got the last one at Target on Friday, but I've just been playing handheld mode, so I'm probably going to sell it soon. It seems the only advantage is a real D-pad
Sell it now. Big shipment of everything coming April
So, Blaster Master from the JP eShop is in English, so it's multi.
Why the fuck are they holding it back for EU and US then?
Your deflection is never going to work
I don't doubt that, but I was probably going to wait until the next wave of people hunting down Pro Controllers. There's a chance something might come out that would require me to use the Pro (namely, USF2), so I may wait till the Switch U comes out and doesn't allow vanilla Switch Pro controllers or something
They hate gaijins
worse is them holding back Disgaea 5, which has already been out in EU and US for ages on other platforms.
