Just finished watching the first and second ReBuild for the first time after having watched everthing else last week.

I don't really get why people hate the ReBuilds so much, I kinda get that it's not the same as the series+EoE but it's doing it's own thing without the extreme 2deep4u convoluted bs from the OG(Which was "fun" in its own regard)

Anyways, here's my prediction for what's gonna happen/what is happening, I have no prior knowledge of anything past these 2 movies.

I think there's multiple timelines or some sort of timeshifting thing going on. Something that explains why the sea is red in the ReBuilds and blue in the series, because the OG series happened and the ReBuilds are technically after the fact, maybe hundreds of years or maybe some sort of reset but with some things intact.

That would explain why everything is being retold but there are weird slight deviations, it would also explain the weird way Koaru always says AGAIN and the way he always seems to be referencing the Series+EoE (Maybe I'm just imagining this part).

- Anyways Mari seems out of place but I kinda like her (Maybe just my dick talking)

- Asuka is annoying but I kinda like that about her (Tsundere's are trash but I dunno, she seems aight)

- Rei has a personality all of a sudden which is odd, and makes me somewhat understand why people like her and waifu her (Which I really didn't get in the OG series where she was literally a nothing character)

- And true best girl Misato is like always pretty cool (I acknowledge that she's best girl but I like Asuka/Mari more for some reason(probably just design wise maybe))

I don't really get why people hate Shinji so much either, yeah he's kinda cowardly but he's really not that bad.

Oh my theory also kinda holds up on the whole Asuka having a different last name all of a sudden thing, I feel like that my theory sort of works with this idea, especially with the whole end of Eva thing.
