>trying to use the new xbox one bluetooth controller, with widows 10 and steam (gta 5).
xbox one doesnt use bluetooth, but a proprietary wireless connection if you have the dongle, it's plug and play, w10 will install the drivers automatically
Luis Murphy
my bad forgot to add a detail. the new xbox one s controller uses bluetooth youtube.com/watch?v=jdv5OUvc75Y and thats the one i have here.. the system is a laptop with internal bluetooth adapter, working with other bluetooth devices. yes it should be plug and play indeed, in fact its detected by windows (see pic)..but not by steam for some reason
If it works and you're happy, I'll give you my details
Noah Parker
trying that right now, will report back, thank you.
Chase Green
doubt this shit is going to help you. but prove me wrong.
Joshua Turner
You're welcome OP. If it works, I don't want a Steam card, but would really appreciate Atelier Firis. It might be too pricey for you, though. Thanks in advance and I hope it works. :)
the scptoolkit has a option for "install xbox controller driver" but its greyed out..tried to install the bluetooth driver and use it but nothing, steam still doesnt see it..it looks like its more about dualshock playstation controller
yes, but the controller doesnt appear under "detected controllers" like in this step on that guide (pic howtogeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/img_588297a17e8c7.png) so im kinda stuck there.. it should be native supported says steam beta client changelog..
Ian Collins
That's too bad. It's about the only thing which worked for me
Daniel Moore
Restart Steam, should fix it I think
Lucas Foster
i'd love to, the accessories app keeps saying "conenct a controller to get started" even if its connected and appears under bluetooth devices (as seen in the op pic). using a microusb cable does the same sadly..this is so weird.. im tempted to return it and get a wireless one (with the dongle) or a wired one..it should be "plug and play" lol
David Foster
Did you try starting the service? It may be greyed out because it's already installed
Jackson Smith
tried to restart steam, reboot the pc, rollback to non-beta client..everything i could think of..
it worked for you with the same controller? or a wired/wireless dongle one? if so i might go return it and get a working one if someone can confirm it works on their system
Joshua Reyes
yes did that with the service running.. also yes probably its says "hey there is already a xbox driver installed" so its greyed out.
Jace Collins
Leave the service running (don't close it) and try playing a game with controller support
Lucas Mitchell
Here you go, everything you need to set up your xbox one wireless on windows 10.
are you trying to get the controller to work with the games or are you trying to do custom button mapping?
Aiden Butler
just re did that again to be sure, nothing detected..
that was literally the first thing i tried to do, before discovering that it didnt work on steam/games
yes, nothing custom or modded, just trying to play steam games with the xbox one bluetooth controller. steam itself should be able be used with the controller in big picture mode but it doesnt see the xbox one controller
Hudson Cooper
but windows 10 does detect it right?
Jackson Morgan
Okay. Try to do something new! This seemed to have worked for a lot of people. Check it out and get back to me. :)
If you find a solution and it works, I'm still this person If it's too pricey just forget about it. Was glad to help. :)
Kevin Rivera
If you're already willing to pay money then just get xpadder.
Carson Morales
yes, the picture in the first post its my actual windows bluetooth screen, you can see the controller listed and connected.
thank you, not sure if already tried so i did it again, but probably because its not wired theres no such option (see pic attached).. that screen is following the one where you choose "update driver-->let me choose"
Nathan Carter
You're welcome. What is the "Have Disk" option for? I'm not very familiar with Windows 10, admittedly. Is that to locate something on you HD?
Jack Lewis
to add some details, steam support told me "run steam as admin" (same issue) and "open accessibility to other programs" regarding the bluetooth adapter (there is no such option, even in the bios). win 10 is fully updated after anniversary update.
Henry Cooper
its probably to browse a local folder/drive for the driver files, like if you have a cd or something with a bluetooth device
Blake Murphy
Trying browsing and if you have the Xbox One Controller driver, you can try installing that.
Just one more thing! Is your controller charged properly? Someone mentioned changing the energy settings of it
I tried searching but nothing came up much on your problem.
Just refund it and get a Xbox 360 or PS4 controller.
Juan Rodriguez
I had a similar problem with another controller, and everytime I had to go to that device list thingy, select the controller and click on update driver. Then I'd choose to pick from a list, and find the wireless xbox controller (it was at the bottom of the list). For some weird reason that used to work, but it was really annoying, so I just bought a new one in the end. Installing drivers any other way did not work
