Sadly, no. This is a game where casters get stunlocked every couple seconds, and the AI doesn't cast even half the spells they are supposed to.

Her default outfit is terrible, yet none of the dlc costumes or her prologue clothes fit her character.

Nope, its just cosmetics/levels/healing items, that kinda stuff. No extra story DLC or anything like that yet. Dont think there will ever be one for this after Zestiria DLC fiasco.

That DLC was made to appease to Alishafags who demanded more Alisha but when they got it, they didn't want to pay for it. Considering how the anime did everything they wanted and it still didn't sell, and neither did her merchandise they might end up rightfully placing the blame on the character.

But, it's been almost half a year since it came out in Japan so I wouldn't bet on them releasing new story content for Berseria.

Rose is shit too, user, but Alisha is just as shit as she is. The anime and Alisha merchandise in general isn't doing well to the point that Bamco and Ufotable don't use her to advertise the anime despite it being all about her.

It helps a lot. There is a lot of parallel plots and carried over game mechanics that are much cooler after playing Zestiria, and one bossfight that is 100x better if you've played Zesty first.
It isn't that bad. It feels like a janky beta berseria, but it is still fun. Make sure to put alicia in sunglasses when you get to the plague town.

No, I've played it, I was just telling the truth. Alisha the character caused Bamco a lot of problems even after Bamco bent over backwards to give Alishafags everything they wanted, the item still fails financially.

Alisha DLC was shit there was no way that it was ever going to be good, anyone hoping that it was going to be good when it was just going to be about Alisha (whose boring and pointless) and Rose (whose just as shit) was fucking delusional. Even if they didn't push Rose in the DLC, it would have just been boring.

I like them both, but I just can't ship them.

The problem with Alisha is that there was already a goody-goody character in Zestiria that out-goody-goodied here on every level. And she never had any kind of personality clashes with Sorey or the others. She was just too agreeable of a person.

She is "Sorey but really indecisive", and that isn't exactly compelling next to the rest of the cast
Even the DLC has her -make her choice- by going "I'm going to be a princess AND a knight (and a doctor and a lawyer and an astronaut)" which doesn't change anything

It's not that Alisha is goody-goody, she's just bland. So even when they have Edna tease her it's not as funny as when Edna teases Mikleo or even Zaveid. She's too much of a goody-goody to have moments of autism like Sorey, nor do her story and character give the group a tough situation that they could really grow and learn from.

She's just there to be eyecandy and nothing more, and even then Lailah has a better body and the other girls are prettier. Hell Mikleo is prettier than she is.

Poor dude was talking about things mostly from the original versions of books that haven't been revised yet because he's old as fuck. He didn't think there'd be revisions and updates to the books he read, and he himself hasn't had the free time to read as often as he did back in the days of peace before shit went down.

Anyway, Eleanor basically stepped on both Eizen and Velvet's territories, whether she intended to or not, making her slightly annoying when you've just started traveling with her (which was probably the writer's intention).

I can't even say that she's like Sorey, Sorey was at least was down to Earth, and then his story was one that would force growth from him. Alisha not so much. Even the bullshit about her not understanding basic commerce was really weak.

So about the difficulty settings ins Berseria.

Alisha showing up for the second time made me go "Yay, I can actually have her use her weapons and armor that I've upgraded and stacked great abilities with!" because I often got Alisha equips by the dozen whenever I decided to grind.

Hard is very manageable, as enemy attack patterns are still very predictable (meaning, as long as you pay attention and dodge/defend when you need to, you won't ever have a problem) and Velvet is still OP with her Therionizing bonuses.

She can supply him with exquisite alcohol so they'd get along just fine.

I think that's a reaction that a lot of people had, not really caring about Alisha as a character but because they have a lot of her shit.

I myself was aware of the fact that she wasn't going to stick around (it was kind of advertised) so I didn't really upgrade her weaponry.

if you control Velvet nothing save a select few bosses is hard on any difficuty.

Although Chaos(highest unlockable difficulty) is full of bullet sponges and AI party members will drop like flies ruining your grade

Yeah I've had the biggest problem getting daggers and paper talismans while Alisha equips just keep on coming. At least I can sell them (despite how low-priced they usually are).

I thought Alisha would at least come back for the final dungeon to show her determination, loyalty and friendship to Sorey, but all I got was Sorey rushing full-speed towards a gay ending.

They should've just turned Mikleo into a girl. At least their destinies being intertwined and Mikleo's height complex, the moment Sorey shoots Mikleo as a bullet and so on would have had more significance and impact.

Zestiria really is the "Bad Decisions: the Game" of the Tales series.

Ultimately, Alisha is Eleanor in a cast full of Eleanors. The reason Eleanor stands out in Berseria is because her worldview is unique from and actually clashes with the rest of the party on many occasions and feeds into a character arc.

There were no character arcs in Zestiria. Except for based Zahveid's.

Would've been nice if Zestiria's connections with Berseria could be explored much further though. I was hoping the Zestiria anime and maybe a Berseria anime would help with that, but by the looks of the Zestiria anime we ain't getting shit.

Yeah making Mikleo a girl would have allowed the game to avoid all the bullshit with Alisha and Rose, because they'd have no reason to exist. Everything Alisha can do in the storyline, Sergei can do better. Both her and Rose aren't the heroine Mikleo is. Making Mikleo a girl also makes Sorey's goals more understandable. Strangely enough the only reason why Mikleo is a dude is because they wanted to not pair Sorey up with a girl.

Yes and no, I'm saying Alisha isn't a good character because she's bland and so is her story. You can have a cast filled with goody-two shoes and still have their beliefs shaken by the events that they're involved with. Alisha doesn't bring anything like that to the table, and in addition to that she has no chemistry with the rest of the cast, having a story that isn't related to anyone else but her and in fact hinders Sorey and not in a good way.

The problem with the Zestiria casts' stories, is that they got cut out because of Rose. Sorey's story was supposed to be more like Magilou's, Mikleo wanted to be a human, Lailah was supposed to have problems with guilt, Dezel was supposed to be Syomonne's foil, Zaveid and Sorey were supposed to have more of a realtionshp, and everyone knows what was probably cut from Edna's story. The problem with the Zestiria cast is Rose, she effectively got in the way of their character arcs.

This is why I love Star Ocean 2 the most as an RPG: Enix had the perfect balance between relationships and story (the latter of which they decided to ruin with their next game because they wanted to break the 4th wall).

The problem with Sorey isn't that he's gay unless you were trying to use him as a self insert, in which case you're the one at fault for doing it in the first place, or if you're a homophobe again your problem. It's the fact that his entire character arc got removed because of Rose's inclusion.

Because you could actually affect the outcome of the story and pair up characters that you want to see paired up. There's many different events and many different choices (as well as items) that may have an impact in the overall character's story. Plus, you can actually have the main girl of the story be your main character and see the whole story develop from her point of view.

Star Ocean 2 is a completely different type of game than Tales user, and even that had it's own canon

But Tales is almost never a choose your own girl self insert story. The characters and story are predetermined except for a few branches sometimes.

Technically Sorey still had a character arc, which was him slowly figuring out the same thing that took Zavheid a hard time to figure out: that you won't be able to save everyone, and that death is sometimes the only way to release someone from suffering. That was ok for character development.

What I didn't like was Sorey breaking his promise with Edna and killing Eizen when he DIDN'T exhaust all his options. He could've waited instead, and with the power of Maotelus, he would have at least been able to purify most of the malevolence on Eizen. Eizen being able to regain his sense of self, seeing how much the world change, seeing an old friend (Laphicet) and saying a few words to Edna before he passes on (unless he gets fully cured) would've made for a great development.

I also didn't like how many parts of the story have been handled, but other people have pointed out "what could've been" so many times before on these threads already.
