Thinking about picking up pic related. Looks like the best game in the series to date since the Part one HD Remaster. Anyone here played it? Opinions?
Thinking about picking up pic related. Looks like the best game in the series to date since the Part one HD Remaster...
It's not even top 5 in the series.
Don't spend over $20. It'll be on sale before too long
It's okay. I've only ever played 4, so this was a bit different. It's basically trial and error. If you fuck up, it's fine because then you just death run to the objectives/items you need to complete whatever the puzzle at the time is.
There's a lot of jump scares which, judging by previous games I've watched, there really aren't a lot of. Definitely worth the pirate.
Pretty good. It is pretty jump scare heavy, but I feel it earns them, it's not like outlast where something just jumps out and goes boo while you're walking down an empty corridor.
I thought the first level in the main house where you're chased by Jack was the best part. It has tons of atmosphere and personality, Jack is far and away the best character in the game.
After that point it goes downhill really fast and really hard. The other stages and antagonists aren't very charming at all. It would be like if RE4 went straight from the village to the prison island.
RE 4 isn't a good basis for comparison. 4 ruined the whole series. They should have never went toward action heavy focus. RE is all about horror. That's why the series has sucked. This looks like the first good RE title since Nemesis/HD Remake
Its alright but every single area makes you wish it lasted longer.
>Just when you think the house is getting good
>you get to the trailer
>ok the next house will be great
>oh its over already
>ok lucas's part is-
>already over god damn
Opens strong but drops off pretty hard after you finish the Old House and it runs out of Evil Dead schlock to throw at you.
Great game
great game, but eveline is a fucking awful, horrible antagonist. fucking unoriginal, annoying ghost loli trope. literally written by the same guy who wrote F.E.A.R. it's a good game all in all tho.
>RE is all about horror
kek, been a RE fan for 19 years, re-played 1-3 just last week after ~15 years and it didn't scare me a single time. The only one who has a BIT of horror in it is the first half of RE1 (because the second one is already full-blown action). RE was never truly about horror ya dingus. Are you saying that the best thing about old REs wasn't the shitty B-movie feel, the characters, the voice acting and blowing heads off with a shotgun?
Also 4 is one of the best games of all time in itself, while 7 is just a huge meme for the youtube let's play audience. They said it's "back to the roots". My ass. It caters to new fans, 13 year old retards.
>a survival horror homage to shitty B tier horror movies
sounds like resident evil to me.
You just described ever RE game user.....
>""""""survival horror"""""
>by the last boss fight i had a thousand fucking bullets in each gun and a thousand more healing items on the chest, and i had killed A LOT of the zombies, only dodging them on the early part of the game
And that's valid for all first 3 REs, mainly 2 which is probably the easiest one.
Don't listen to what the cucked RE 4 to 6 fanboys say there just mad its no longer a shit action series anymore. its the closet to the classics in years and the best game for me of 2017 so far it has it flaws of course but the stuff it gets right it really gets right.
Play it if you want a legit survival horror game and a true RE game unlike 4 to 6
that's also valid for literally every other survival horror game known to man. your point?
I know right. It's like the action fags are on suicide watch now that RE can be scary for a change.
I really feel no gives RE7 credit for having pretty much no loud BOO jump scares with a loud orchestral sting,
Every jump scare felt organic in that the ingame sounds and things you saw made you jump, and not a shitty ear piercing orchestral sting.
They had so many opportunists to use it and thank god they were classy enouth not to use it.
>closest to the root
>return to classic
>no live action
>no smoking
Gonna be full shill here because i just loved how this game cleans the shittyness of the last games
The game have everything that makes RE1 good with some neat new stuff
Game have flaws but ithink they are overshadowed by the great sound design, history and voice acting
that's not shilling. does this godforsaken website even know what shilling is?
If like a game its shilling user...That's just how it works now on this shit site.
If you I meant....fuck it
Marge is one of the best boss fights of all time
>damage sponge
>summoning enemies
>good
it was freaky though, I'll give you that.
And it's in a really dark room so you can't see fuck all.
any boss that summons enemies is just bad design. the sound she made while she was doing it made me gag tho.
yeah it was fun
Good game, wanted it to be great but tye very beginning and end suck, so does the dlc practises wait until you can get a deal with all the dlc honestly
ok game
play it on madhouse tho, shit is infuriating
I remember playing through SH2, which was spoopy and tense, but because of a the broken melee system and every enemy falling down after 2 shots I ended the game with a million bullets, and only had like 3 gun kills the whole game.
To this website shilling = liking something popular and wanting to talk about it.
Played it at my friends place, game is just what you're looking for if you like spooky resource management games. It's a lot like the Evil Dead series of movies
Go for it. I'm a huge fan of the series, and this one was pretty good. The amount of scripted events and conversations make replays kind of annoying, but it's near perfect for the first two playthroughs. The enemies are kind of bullet sponges, but I personally felt it made killing them more satisfying, instead of frustrating.
Was okay, but nothing special
RE6 is still better
Yes. One of the best Resident Evil.
No way, fag.
- too short
- too easy
- stupid end game boss
- stupid replay value
dont waste your money
>I've never actually played Re7, but I saw the trailers.
>only played 4
>trying to recommend a Resident Evil game
It's a good game, but not worth the money for its length.
Evil little girl out of nowhere.
Changing Redfield's face and alliance with 0 explanation so far.
Starting to understand why people hate on games over petty shit.
Not him but Mercenaries was great, too bad the rest of the game sucked
