Comfy PS4 thread II

Had some good discussion yesterday, anyone happen to grab the Rez physical from iam8bit? I heard their shopping process isn't that great but would like to get that game physically.

Also any suggestions for games? Anyone grab HZD and doesn't hate it?

I just beat dark souls 3. It was ok, but I immediately wanted to play bloodborne again, so I'm playing through that instead of doing a second dark souls 3 playthrough. after that, I'm probably going to play darksiders 2. I beat darksiders 1 a few weeks back and enjoyed it, so I picked up dsiders 2 on the cheap.

Disc Jam might be the best ps+ game since rocket league. Easy to play but just needs a few more game modes. So much fun.

>Had some good discussion yesterday, anyone happen to grab the Rez physical from iam8bit? I heard their shopping process isn't that great but would like to get that game physically.
No, I'm not in the US, so no physical Rez for me.

I wanna see how comfy DQ Builders is during a mother fucking blizzard.

Is it like minecraft?

Yes it is. But there's a narrative and you have objective. It's better than minecraft in my opinion. What I really wanna do is remote play it on my vita under my blankets. I think I just convinced myself to do that.

Speaking of vita, is it worth getting just for remote play? Or emulators? I heard the originals screen is better. I have a 3ds also for reference.

Like a story mode? Is it good for someone who hasn't played a DQ game?

They don't ship international?

Also anyone have thoughts on nex machina? Resogun got a pro boost and 4k upgrade recently.

I'd advise against it. I bought one on a whim when it was on sale a few years back. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it got me into Persona. P4G lasted me over 80 hours which sorta made the purchase okay. If you like jrpgs though get one. I'm gonn aplay the FF series for the first time on it later this year. Starting with 4. I can't comment on emulators because my shit isn't hacked. I have the old vita too and I heard the same thing about the older screen being better.

I like the vita screen way more than the 3ds one. Too bad its library is kinda lacking.

Never played a single DQ game before builders. In fact it got me to try DQ8, which made me fall in love with the series. I definitely plan on checking out more DQ games now and in the future. Like DQ11 for one.

I wouldn't get a vita for remote play, but I would get a vita for the fucking enormous library of games it has and emulators now. Quite literally the best handheld made.

>tfw want Yakuza 0 and Horizon
>tfw just bought Gundam Breaker 3 again (already have it on vita)
>tfw not sure if I should spend the money on them now or wait until I can get them for like 20 or 30 bucks each
FUG

Fair enough. I had a modded n3ds that I sold today because I never played it. Maybe I'll get one at a later time but I'd rather save the money and get nier instead. I don't travel much anymore anyways.

HZD is fucking fabulous, don't listen to Sup Forums at all
Vita is a dead console, but even so it has a huge library of great games. Even if you exclude all the weebshit/fanserive, you're left with most of the best indies, PSP/PSone ports, PS2 remasters, exclusives that eventually got ported (Tearaway, Gravity Rush), and cross buy/play stuff. The same reason people like the Switch is exactly why the Vita is a great console. Price can be intimidating but it's worth it if you play a variety of games.

Also it's the only system that has the trifecta of Muramasa, Dragon's Crown, and Odin Sphere.

>They don't ship international?
Might be, but I don't think it's worth paying $20 more for a 500 MB game just to have it on disc.
I love physical copies, but I have limits too.
If it appears on the usual store shelves, I grab it for sure.

Is there a way to get GR1 cheap physical?

Ps4 slim or pro? Slim is cheaper and thinking about it.

>all the PS Now threads
I hope there's another sale on The Old Hunters soon

I don't know what happened, I was planning on buying this game in October or November and seemingly overnight it shot up from $20 to $80.

I'm enjoying Horizon a lot. Also playing Nier: Automata. Bought Yakuza as well but I won't start it until after I'm done with these games and Persona 5.

Just live in Europe, walk into a store and buy it for 20 €.

What are the best themes, and best 4k ones for that matter?

Not for anything user, but a modded 3ds is a better thing to have than nier, traveling or not. I rarely travel with the 3ds but it's a nice thing to have. Plus you can get nier for like $20 in a few
months.

Slim. All games on the pro have to run on the slim. The slim is cheaper, and unless you have a 4k tv the pro doesn't have much of an advantage. Unless I'm mistaken few games make use of its power to have stable framerates. Most just go for graphics.

Horizon and Zelda both seem like great games for this blizzard. Too bad my friend didn't give me my Wii U back in time.

I dont have a 4k tv, well im getting that one i guess.
I hope im making a good decision getting it for Nier: automata, Persona 5, bloodborne and maybe kingdom hearts collection if interested.

Do you have a 4k tv? Pros boost mode is great.

Took anons advice and got the pro today, it is so sexy I love it.

Sorry didn't see this on time but the boost is worth it alone l find. 4k are getting cheaper now but the slim is still good.

Anyone else what is Odin sphere like and what is it comparable to?

Also how is ultimate MVC3? I loved 1 and 2 on DC

I'm gonna pick it up once I am done with Resident Evil. Family Video is saving me so much money, although I almost feel bad since RE7 is actually very high quality imo.

>Anyone else what is Odin sphere like and what is it comparable to?
Ever play Dragon's Crown? It's like that kinda. If you've not played it then it's an rpg beat em up? Is that the right name for the genre? Think Golden Axe in a way.

You transition from screen to screen beating shit up, finding hidden rooms and bosses, crafting potions to do damage and help you survive. You're also responsible for your own health. You need to craft and cook meals to increase you health as the game goes on.
There's a talent tree which gives you new moves(though some you need to beat option hidden bosses for) and upgrade them as well. It's insanely fun. I got a little burnt out on the game because it can get very repetitive. But I went back and finished it up. It's honestly one of the best games on the system. Also good and easy to remote play it. Comfy as fuck in that regard.

I totally forgot about that place and Redbox. What's the rental prices and selection at FV?

like $7 for 5 nights on new games. Forget what it is for 1 and 5.

Can modded PS3's be played online yet?

Just got Nier: Automata in the post today and spent the whole day off playing it.

That plus the incoming blizzard made it ultra comfy. Debating on whether to pick between Yakuza 0, Guilty Gear or Bloodbourne for the next game to pick up.

Also have a PS Plus free trial going and considering picking up Claire since it's on sale.

How is nier so far?

It's pretty solid so far, but one thing that's stood out to me is the soundtrack. Huge point is how certain segments seamlessly segue from one another based on the area you're in. Since I'm a bit on the casual side, I have it on Normal, but even then, it's a bit on the easy side.

it really fucking is

Yeah games like that are always easy as shit even on normal. Gotta go with the harder ones always.

Despite that, it's always fucking satisfying to get those combos. It takes me back to play DMC3 in middle school in a way.

Sounds great. Any other games you'd recommend out there?

It is great. There's a demo for it so you can try before you buy. Same for DQ Builders. Fell in love with that game through the demo.

Also are you asking for PS4 exclusives or just games in general?

Nobody who owns a PS4 cares about exclusives.
Only people not owning one do.

Anyone for mvc please help.

Also thoughts on romance of the three kingdoms 13?

>playing on max difficulty
>getting hit by those fucking jump predictions

Installing fallout 4 right now. Jesus this takes forever

put it in rest mode and give it about twenty minutes

have no clue why it's like this, but it works

Are you actually playing that game? Yeesh, wii us arent that expensive. Just get zelda.

that's weird

i'm already on 80% now, so

whats a good way to start a stealth build?

MvC not worth it IMO. Terrible netplay, ps3 version bugs and barebones singleplayer content. If it's an option, get it on steam or xone, ps4 version is fucked sadly

only had my PS4 for two weeks but love it. pic related is my modest collection - I have Doom, Star Ocean, World of FF and Digimon on the way too.

Currently playing Ratchet and Clank which is a 10/10 for me. didn't play the original

Have fun doing a billion fetch quests for Preston. I know I said comfy when I made the thread but that game is really boring, your time is worth more than playing that user.

no clue, I just got my PS4 yesterday and only have two games (Uncharted 4 and Nier: Automatamato)

Get GR2 after you finish the original, Kat needs more love!

The new Final Fantasy any good?

Also saw they're putting out a remaster for XII, which has me a bit interested since I never finished the original and don't have a PS2 anymore (the fat fuck died on me years ago)

How come EU spines are all more or less the same format? It's kind of nice. USA is all over the place.

My bad wrong picture

>Final Fantasy any good?
It has its moment especially if you weren't expecting anything from it, but it's too big of a mess in all departments and I'm still buttblasted about all the wasted oportunities this game could've reached.

FFXII is top3 in the series, imo, huge amount of content

Heard nothing but "average" from people who played it. It's not turn based but it might be worth a cheap pickup.

EU here, it's still a mess

Yeah, I tend to wait for most Square Enix stuff to go down in price since they put out stuff that can be a bit middling in quality, with some exceptions.

Plus I can't be assed to pay 50 bucks for Final Fantasy when there's so many other games out there that are better.

Is the order as bad as everyone says?

It's nothing like Zelda.

Graphics as good as advertised?

I only own a PS4 for MLB The Show, but there have been some more exclusive games that make me feel better I have one.

Everything not exclusive to PS4 I play on PC.

Anyone know where I can pick up a cheap ps4? I mainly just want to use it for remote play, so I don't really care about the pro / HD size. Something around $100 - $175 ideally

PS4 Pro's boost mode makes every game run a lot better so far, HDR is so fucking good.

I'm the guy you quoted

I liked it. wasn't amazing, but it had a nice enough setting, fun weapons and it looked great.

Story was a bit boring (if that's something you are interested in) and has qte sections too.

yes. surprisingly so. the game just blows you away in everything except for character interactions and dialogue

I grabbed Horizon Zero Dawn. PC Gamer primarily, so I pick up exclusives primarily. I am very tired of the open world meme, but so far, Horizon Zero Dawn has been pretty fun. So far being about 5 hours in, it may get old, but the combat is excellent, movement and controls are tight, graphics are good. It does nothing super innovative, so don't let shills tell you it's GOAT, but it's a pretty decent game so far IMO

What are some problems you have with the PS4?

Half the time when I boot it up it can't connect to the Internet until it's been on for a few minutes.

Seconding this. HDR is where it's at. If you can afford it, get an OLED. Otherwise Samsung ks8000 series has super low latency. Don't cheap out on a 4k because either it won't have HDR or it won't be properly supported and have high lag/no proper game mode.

Letgo/Facebook marketplace on mobile and offer up to a lesser extent. Also Craigslist.

Bought a Pro with god of war and the box in like new shape for $275 a month ago. Might be hard with people getting refunds back but try to shoot under there. Facebook you can haggle a bit.

If you haven't bought anything on there before meet at a GameStop preferably, so you can test it out and also not risk getting robbed. I told them I wanted to test it out and wanted to pick up a bunch of used games after. I let them test the reader, online etc then left. Best Buy you can also test up at geek squad if they're nice (and better store in general)

The controller has shitty battery and a lightbar that you can't turn off. That would give back a ton of life. Also a touchpad while interesting serves no real purpose.

I'll look up LetGo, but not facebook. I haven't had a facebook since the myspace wars. I checked around Craigslist, but everybody was gouging the fuck out of their systems around where I am. I may just wait for a black friday sale and pick up an old fat PS4 if nothing pops up.

Letgo works best I find. Offerup seems more ghetto but I've found stuff there in good deals. Can just make a burner FB to use the marketplace. My mom uses that bit instead of CL exclusively now.

I picked it up despite Sup Forums's shitposting, was actually genuinely surprised by it.

I don't care for the light bar either, but both of my 2 year old controllers last 10+ hours. 12+ when new. I think that's pretty good.

The disc drive is rarely loud whenever I play Yakuza 0

Yes.

>HDR is so fucking good
No.

Thank god I don't need to buy a PS4 any more.

>would rather pay for PS4 games at 1080i and possible input lag

PS4 Pro requires a really expensive TV. Just wait till a price drop.

You're still playing under the Playstation brand.

>thinks that a screenshot on a LDR display can show the difference.

Some games tend to crash and updates are kinda annoying.

My Pro turns into a jet everytime I open a map in HZD. But the game (and the whole console) is so good I'm ok with that

The one thing Guerrilla has always done very well is graphics.
