I loved how Panchea started. My biggest problem with DXHR was that the whole narrative of augs being a dangerous and disruptive social element was only ever talked about, and never really shown. The events at Panchea were too abrupt with not enough lead in, but I loved the horror set up and the game finally raising the stakes in the supposed aug debate.

And then I saw the animations for the augs, and all tension was lost.

square enix realised they had to ship 10 more final fantasies by the end of the week and had a major MAJOR budgetary shift to making hi-def chocobos with the writers' + animators' payrolls for DXHR, truly a tragic loss for the ending powerpoint industry deprived of up to and including 6 more slideshows after shooting the final boss in the chest.

Why is Mankind Divided so lame? I'm playing through it currently and it's so black and white in its setting and morality. I'm currently in Prague, and so far it's just a bunch of "every character who hates augs is an asshole plus police are evil." Like, I get what the developers are going for, but really now, if it came to light that in the real world anyone with a prosthetic body part could be hacked and turned into a killing machine, I'd be pretty fucking fearful of them too.
