I finished a replay of BoF4 last month and fuck this guy, goddamn.

Pity BoF kinda died, would have loved to see a proper sequel or something in that world. Though I heard they're all in the same timeline and 4 is the very first one? Is there any merit to that?

Sort of. There's a lot of room for interpretation. It's fair top say that while none of the games are directly related, they all occur in the same universe.
For example, in BoF 3 there's a mural depicting the final battle from the first game and it's said to be a depiction of history.

Interesting. I had heard a theory that Ryu making the dragon aspects mortal is what eventually started the Dragon Clan in BoF1. And that Yuna eventually creates Myria.

Though I also heard 4 takes place in a different universe. I dunno. I just love it. youtube.com/watch?v=2pOVQIPnEiE

>torture
>sacrifices
>body mutilation
>nuclear hex weapons poisoning entire cities
>violent war
>weak-willed rulers pussying out and betraying their allies
>SS officer commencing mass child murder (though technically they are not children but whatever)
>one of the main characters getting nuked with the girl he loved and going 100% nuclear
>person who caused of half of the most brutal shit in the game gets a free pass and is never punished
How the hell they even stuffed so much brutal and creepy shit into a simple JRPG?

BoF4 takes place in a different universe than 1-3.

Momo mentions herself as being from another world entirely. It is not to say that perhaps some things occurred between universes, but 4 is clearly set to standalone in a place entirely different from 1-3.

Also 4 is the best one easily.

>BoF4 takes place in a different universe than 1-3.
You can easily tie them together though.
Yuna can easily be responsible for Myria's creation given how creepy her combat animations in BoF3 are.

>disdainful of the mortals
>a slight inclination towards pity on account of their limitations
>generally concerned more with his own affairs and plans to travel to the appointed place and time to be united with his other half
>becomes the target of a hex spell generated by the torture, suffering and murder of a woman who cared for him
>decides to go full nuclear, slaughtering everyone in his path and commands his servants to destroy the Fou empire
Face it. He did nothing wrong.

The most infuriating thing of them all is that he still gets away with everything even on the manga adaptation.

4 is theorized to the first of them all on the timeline

4 > 1 > 2 > 3

Then you have to explain how the dragon clans came to be a thing in the first BoF if at the end of 4, Ryu expels all the power of the gods (including dragons) from their world.

You have to explain why dragons are gods in 4 but merely a clan subjugated by a god in 3.

You also have to explain how Myria (who created the world and the races in it) was created by someone who lived on the planet she herself created.

Doesn't add up. 4 is in a separate universe.

I already said perhaps some things may have happened between universes temporally, but they do not take place on the same planet.

If only Soniel wasn't a backstabbing, power-hungry assole and stepped down to accept the true king since the very beginning, Fou could easily lead the entire world into prosperity again.

Going 100% nuclear came out extremely believable since he was already cracking badly and doubting both himself and the world.
>that moment when animal kills itself just to open a path to him

What if he just accepted her proposal and lived with her in some secluded place far away?

At least Soniel gets decapitated at the end.

Man they cut so much shit from IV.

There's entire logs of text that got cut because they didnt wanna translate Scias' scan ability.

The hot springs with Ryu

Ursula's bare ass. (sorry the sprite shows nothing)

I actually prefer how censored version handled it. By not showing what Fou-Lu did to him.
When i played the game for the first time i assumed that he put him through some unimaginable eastern torture before killing him as his rape face suggested.

Shame about other removed content though.

1, 2 and 3 come after Fou Lu wins.

Take that OoT split universe shit outta here. It ruined LoZ. I'm not gonna let it ruin BoF.

Also didn't they messed up with Nina suddenly falling in love with Cray?
Because in the manga she was all over Ruy.

You can't ruin what is already dead.

There's a few weird differences in the manga. I actually prefer her starting out liking Cray but then realizing Cray has the hots for her sister.

However I prefer the manga ending. The game is just too fucking sad for Fou Lou.

Fou-Lu getting some healing was unexpected to say the least.
Though i think that it was more merciful to let him just rest as a part of Ruy and not separate entity.

hehe, nice meme fag

She didn't suddenly fall in love with Cray.
She had a crush on him since she was small, but Cray loved her sister (who has mutated into a monstrosity that begs Cray to kill her).

Where be this mango?

Ah man just google Breath of Fire IV manga.

It's got a fan-lation. It's a good read.

Actually you know what. Here you go.

T t thanks.

It's a shame that 4's Nina was a really weak character.

Oh, so that's what fell next to him in the forest
I'd been fucking wondering about that for years

I like to think that was what sent him over
As soon as he realized the mortals' folly of using a weapon so devastating to themselves to try and destroy him, along with the fact that they used Mami to do it, he went over the edge and decided to slaughter them all
That psychotic laugh right before he passed out is a pretty good tell

He was simply surprised that mortals managed to amass such power after getting hit by Carronade. The thing that made him go nuclear is Mami's bell.

This is thing thing
I know that Fou-lu was scripted to be the antagonist and that he was supposed to be the foil to your party. You were supposed to reject his ideologies and choose not to join with him.

But every time he asked a question, I couldn't disagree with him.
When he said "Art the mortals not malicious?" and showed the images of the Carronade, I couldn't argue.
When he said "Art they not treacherous?" and showed Cray before his planned execution, I couldn't argue.
When he said "Art the mortals not monstrous?" and showed Rasso torturing woman and children, I couldn't argue.

I know that joining with him was supposed to be the 'bad' ending but there's not a doubt in my mind it was the correct one.
