Tfw to dumb two be th idea guy

>tfw to dumb two be th idea guy

How do I get around this?
>can't draw so can't make the art
>can't figure out FL Studio so can't make the music
>can't come up with good names so I can't write the story
>can program but not a genius and butcher old code to fit the needs of the new program but then someone will accuse me of stealing code

What do?

idea guys are only recruited from the most elite students at video game high school

Pic related, here's like 8hrs of fucking about for an NPC chef dude

Practice is the key, enter the next Ludum Dare or another game jam, the time constraints help a lot in actually making something and delivering it.

I've done it and whilst my games weren't great I was able to improve a lot each time.

With highlighting

You could be a QA tester and make 8 dollars an hour for the rest of your life

step 1: change your thinking
step 2: do shit until it works
successful people don't become successful by thinking they're shit at everything. Now don't go on an ego trip thinking you're great either. Even if you make something great.

protip : good names aren't made from nothing. you can use words that describe a personality trait or if you want good fantasy names, you can check real names from countries like turkey or iran for example. there are incredible names you haven't heard of and couldn't come up with

>To dumb two be th idea guy

Since when has that stopped anyone? Take a look at Bioshock Infinite for example.

I'd like to since I hate finding issues in games. I did some pro bono beta testing but the issue is that QA, I imagine, doesn't have many openings.

I try to be realistic and see were my weaknesses are. It just seems like there's a lot of them. I mean I could try to make a team down the line but I just wish I had more talent in those fields.

>>can't figure out FL Studio so can't make the music
So you can compose, but just can't figure out FL Studio? Why not use a different program, or watch/read tutorials. It's pretty easy to make something basic in FL Studio.

>tfw idea guy and a writer but have to learn to program because I'm not dumb enough to let someone else make my game
I've no idea where to get money to pay the artists though and learning to draw myself is gonna take y e a r s

Get better at something

I can read sheet music and play piano but I've never written an actual song.

My issue is that I don't really know how to be like "oh this drum beat compliments the melody" or "hmm this chord would be good here".
Or like the order to start is. Like I feel like I should build the beat first and layer on top of that but I can't match it well so I build a little melody first and then I can't match the beat to it.

Another issue is soundfonts. Like I can't figure out what instrument I want to use where since very often there's either too many, or the sounds I get don't match what I want if I go down an octave or up an octave.

It's all so complicated and I put it aside so I can get better at programming a skeleton of a game, but then I have the issue of needing the art assets.

It has a lot of openings, it's very easy to get a QA job. My company has hundreds

Make a fun game with okay art and kickstart it, and use the cash to hire competent artists.

My dream at least.

>want to be the artist
>learning to draw is too hard

>tfw idea guy
>tfw also can art
>tfw also can music
>tfw also can story
>tfw also can programming
>tfw can't into character design
>tfw stuck on creating a protagonist

Become a QA tester, endure hell for years and climb the ranks

>idea guy with shit ideas
>stuck on C# and not sure how to proceed
>attempted drawing, couldn't fix my symbol drawing so gave up for now
>did some shitty music related stuff when I was 15, haven't made another attempt ever since
Could be worse, I guess.

>school hosted gamejam
>had a ton of fun, got second place
>want to participate in more gamejams
>don't want to spend time on art but still have something that looks good
>none of the artists I know want to take part in gamejams unless they're compensated for it

fucking cunts the whole lot

>change your thinking
How do you make something so complex so easy sounding

What kinda game?
If RPG just make silent protagonist. It's the easiest out.
