Will the Switch be able to replace the Vita as the weeaboo machine of choice?
Will the Switch be able to replace the Vita as the weeaboo machine of choice?
Probably, since it does everything the vita does, only at a better resolution and TV output included. Also, region free aswell
No, too much censorship.
It depends on how willing Nintendo is to have weebshit on their machine. Somehow it's hard to see something like Monster Monpiece be approved by Nintendo.
>Also, region free aswell
You mean like the vita.
>no backtouch
>tfw there will never be another game where you fap the console to capture monster girls
You have to remember that Nintendo was a pioneering publisher of JRPG's. Every trope of JRPG's we're familar with goes back to the SNES RPG lineup for the most part. Heck, other than 1st party Nintendo games, the best selling games on the SNES were mostly RPG's
>censored weebshit
No thanks
3ds games are shit.
Switch games will also be shit.
only NDS is good
yeah back in the 90s
I dont see it
They where also all heavily censored and had shitty translations in general.
Oh. and somehow the industry has changed over these 30 years.
no
it will be the same shit as always
>first year: hopeful looking lineup, a few quality 3rd party devs
>2nd year on: 80% of the third party games get cancelled, nintendo refuses to work with any others
enjoy your mario/zelda machine as usual
The 3DS has plenty of JRPG's
That's what I meant
Backtouch is a gimmick
If the Switch sells well, yes. Can't stick to the Vita forever and most PS4 games have to rely on the western market.
Nintendo is more nazi than Sony so probably not,
No.
Nintendo hates smaller third-parties. They charge rip-off prices and take too much percentage of revenues. Also they hate lewd games.
No Nintendo handheld will ever be what Vita is. Nintendo hates non-kiddy shit too much for that to happen.
It's region free, it's a Nintendo handheld, do the math.
They were okay with this.
shit JRPG right? NDS JRPG are better than those.
This. I don't even understand this thread. The 3DS is just as much of a weeb system as the Vita.
It already has, Sony isn't gonna release another handheld.
clean your shitty eyes.
This.
>Backtouch is a gimmick
Like everything Nintendo after the Gamecube so it should fit right in.
this
Maybe not quite as much weeb shit on the 3DS but still a decent amount.
Now you can use the IR sensor thing pointed at your dick to actually masturbate to control the game
The 3DS had all sorts of weeb shit. Weeb shit sells better on it because development is cheaper and nobody buys weeb shit on consoles anymore compared to the PS1 days.
>They where also all heavily censored and had shitty translations in general.
Kind of irrelevant to the point I made
>Oh. and somehow the industry has changed over these 30 years.
Gamecube had a fair share of RPG's. Wii had a few. But mostly Nintendo's RPG publishing has been concentrated on their handhelds. The DS & 3DS library is pretty much identical in character to the SNES where the best games are usually 1st party Nintendo IP's and anime RPG's. The 64 lost RPG's because many of Nintendo's third parties moved over to Sony because of Nintendo's choice to stick with cartridges
Anyone denying 3DS has JRPGs is basically just a braindead idiot. A simple Google search would tell you that much.
I'm waiting until the handheld on version of the Switch.
Not quite true. PS3 still had plenty of weeb shit, but most of it was available on PS4 and Vita.
JRPG's are made for fairly cheap so it's all a matter of install base. That's why Sony gets most of it and Nintendo's handhelds get more of it now, because their install base is much bigger. The Switch however is apparently extremely easy to develop and port low-end games over, so it's all a matter of whether the Switch builds up an install base that Japanese RPG developers feel it's worth it porting or exclusively developing games for it.
if you want to play JRPG then don't buy Nintendo shit. Why? Look at all those shit tier JRPG game beside 1st party in their library for the past decade.
Etrian Odyssey Untold is good although they are just remakes of NDS games so whatever.
Yes. For me pic related is the best thing about it.
I agree, but backtouch isn't a feature that'll make a developer go "hmmm, i should probably release this on the Vita because it's a key feature to my game"
>Voez
Is that game any good?
Vita region free on PSN is a hassle and requires another memory card, or you deleting everything off your current memory card. Fuck that
It's got like 100 songs and it's a rhythm game.
It plays like a rhythm game. It's what you would expect.
Not seeing nintendo store being any better.
That is cool as fuck
I hope so, as long as the the 3DS devs move to the Switch I will be happy.
You mean how you simply change your language settings, buy your game, and it appears even when you change your language settings back?
Pretty damn better user.
Aside from the fact that it doesn't save your credit card info, it's pretty easy to use. Much more so than the Wii U's convoluted store. All it requires is to create a Japanese account, which again is very easy.
Even knowing a little bit of Japanese can get you through the menus without any trouble.
You just have to have a new email register to a japanese eshop account and you're good.
It even keeps the games on your home screen when you go back to english.
t. Bought Disgaea 5 and it's in English
>I'm a Pokemon/Fire Emblem fag
The stores appear to be combined across region too, unlike PSN.
When I go into the Japanese store, the games I already bought from the western store are still marked as "Already owned", although there are games there unavailable in our store because they haven't released yet like Disgaea and PPT. But you can buy Disgaea from the JP store and play it in English.
It's hard to say just yet but I assume if you imported a game and it gets translated a year after the Japanese release, you would be able to start playing the game in English for no additional cost, unlike PSN. I'm quite excited for the Switch just because of how it handles regions and languages.
You just have to make a Japanese account and that's it.
The games even show up on your US account and you can play them on that account too.
No
beside Pokemon and Fire Emblem what the fuck are you gonna play on Nintendo product??Mario?
Xenobla-
it's shit
Your webm doesn't show any system features that haven't existed for a few console generations already. If you think every game is going to come with the same languages in every region, you're in for a nasty surprise.
Well, looks like it's time to play in Japanese and note all the little changes
If Octopath Traveler is any indication, Nintendo would be just fine if a bunch of Japanese RPG developers just made 3DS style games with higher resolution and put them on the eShop.
Yes absolutely. Where the fuck else are they gonna go? The PC games market is dead there. Japs don't buy home consoles. It's Switch or mobile.
Not sure, Nintendo really should have allowed 3ds games to be playable on Switch even if only through digital means.
PC
I'm playing Monster fucking Monpiece right now. It's more fun than I thought it'd be.
But now it has front touch, so it's even better.
Shin Megami Tensei and pretty much anything else from Fatlus.
I hope Namco gets around to making another Baten Kaitos though
Which console does that already?
Sony is region free but requires you to buy the JP and NA versions separately and keeps DLC separated too.
>The PC games market is dead there.
>Tales has moved to PC
>Neptunia has moved to PC
>Musou has moved to PC
>Atelier has moved to PC
>Disgaea has moved to PC
PC weebs are finally getting up to PS3 levels
>Disgaea 5
>Senran Kagura guy going nuts over the HD rumble
It's already happening.
*only
The problem with that is that it would put the 3DS out to pasture.
The Gameboy Advance was originally going to have its own successor but because the DS was backwards compatible and because most developers had moved onto that system, the Gameboy lineup was put to rest. Same with the 3DS.
It does seem though that some games are going to be made available on both consoles, like Fire Emblem Warriors.
>moved to PC
they are just ports, dumbass.
all those games will continue to be on consoles and then ported to PC.
nah
I hope so, I really just want Etrian Odyssey on the Switch though.
You can't even use subs with the dub of your choice in this piece of shit game though, and the rest could be done since the PS3.
Dude.
That's how I actually see this console going. Vita weeb 3rd party catalgoue but more play options (TV, handheld) and actual first party support. Then again, Nintendo might be jerks about censorship so it's still up in the air a bit.
you know the vita has a touchscreen right?
Delete this
>All those weeb ass games for Vita
>Farming Simulator 18
kek
>Doesn't want Japanese text and Japanese audio
Maybe I mistook the part where OP was directing this thread at weebs?
I don't, actually. I thought it only had that weird ass back panel.
Disgaea 5 bombed really, really hard so I wouldn't expect more stuff from NIS for a while unless if it does amazing in the west.
Marvelous likes Nintendo so there will definitely be stuff like harvest moon and rune factory on there. Probably a Senran Kagura game too.
I have no clue how Disgaea has a cult following. I can't get into it for the life of me.
Yes it is, but the easiest way to play it is to take off the joycons and use your thumbs like a phone game.
The front is multitouch yes.
Maybe if they fix stuff like the shit left joycon, improve cooling, come up with a dock that doesn't fuck up your screen, and not put the charger on the bottom of the console when they have a hardware revision then it might work out. Though I don't see many of the risquer games making their way to nintendo, to me it seems like if you just want to just fucking go all out weird then you'd have to go with sony.
Plus I like it when games come to the vita. Vita is practically a port bridge for pc and ps4 at this point. I really don't see games on nintendo hardware making it off of nintendo hardware. Hell I don't really see them getting ported from one console to the next very often either. If they ported half of the decent 3ds games to wiiu, double screen and all then the wiiu might have actually survived.
I'm definitely holding off on the switch for a while, I really want to see if only a handful of the switches are just defective or if they just gave out sooner rather than later. I'd be damned if I were to but a switch just as more and more of them started to scream at people before dying.
The PS3 has distinct versions of games that differ between region. If you buy the English version of a game you only have that version. To get both English and Japanese for all but a few games you need to buy both versions separate.
The Switch allows you to play a game in any supported language regardless of the country you bought the game from.
>people always talk about how awesome Vita was and that it was wasted potential
>Nintendo listened and gave you what you all wanted
>Instead, everyone just makes fun of it
Weeb games don't sell well on Nintendo compared to Sony. Nintendo consumers mostly buy first party only.
Senran Kagura, Tales games, and Vanillaware abandoned Nintendo for that very reason.
Ok. Well, now you can touch it and jerk it off, so there's that.
>Nintendo
>3rd parties
Nintendo has insane royalty costs.
>Senran Kagura, Tales games, and Vanillaware abandoned Nintendo for that very reason.
good for nintendo though. especially tales games, the're pathetic
>It's a "Vitacucks try to make their brick out to be a better handheld than the 3DS" episode
>people constantly make fun of the vita
>nintendo makes a new vita
>expected people to not make fun of it in some form or another
But this is only true for Zelda, because they made the game have that function. Other weeb games will remain censored even when changed to Jap version.
Does this mean that when a Jap Switch changes from Jap to English, it will keep it uncensored with English text?
Vita owners, what are you playing right now and what future Vita games are you looking forward too?
Why not have a sequence where you seperate the the Joy-Con, hold it vertically and vigorously move it up and down?
You could even try to use the HD Rumble to simulate your fingers sliding over something firm.
What are you trying to do user, stop
so what do you want to tell with that picture?
>left joycon
Fixed by day one patch
>dock scratches screen
It doesn't
>Other weeb games will remain censored even when changed to Jap version.
Do you have a source for that? Because it sounds like bullshit.
All the games I own are fully playable in either English or Japanese at least. Voez and Zelda have even more options than that.
It's too soon to say it bombed. The userbase is not there yet, and most people are buying the thing to play Zelda, even in Japan. Give it time and it'll end up selling decently.
Bomberman has changing language support in the game (though it also changes the menus like BotW does).
i dont know why people are pretending that the nintendo switch is trying to compete with xbox and playstation, it's going to live/die on its ability to succeed the nds and 3ds's legacy as a god tier handheld.
