I voted without knowing what Horizon is. It's not that I'm trolling; it's that it's impossible that it's better than the best single player adventure game of all time.

Just finished the main story for HZD and to be honest, it's a nice and new story that kept on making me want to progress further to find out the end, plus the audio logs and text books around the game that add a bit extra to everything, gameplay was hard as fuck even on medium, but there are some smart ways to cheat the system, running behind walls and waiting for the enemies to just forget you exist, and pop up to do a headshot, and go back into hiding, It's a great game, I don't know why fuckers keep on comparing it to BOTW all the time, I got the game for free as part of a ps4 bundle but i think i would still buy it for full price for how good the story it is, even got me crying at the end scene

I haven't played either, although I'm planning on buying a switch and BotW when I have more time. HZD just looks like a generic open world game, competent in everything it does, and strong tech-wise, but not really innovating much. From what I've seen of BotW, it at the very least has several physics and gameplay elements that interest me.

I haven't played Horizon, but it never seemed interesting to me; I thought this way even before everyone began to tack on the Zelda vs Horizon debate.

I've only played Zelda, but I watched my friend play the first hour or two of Horizon. It looks way better (no shit), but the combat seemed like it was more fun and stealth seemed more useful. I'm currently borrowing a copy of Nier to get my PS4 open world fix, but I'll try to get my hands on Horizon soonish

That makes no sense, you can clearly see the gameplay of a game in any video and see how it plays regardless of whether or not you yourself are playing.
It's like saying I can't judge a movie because I saw it for free online and not in a theater.

I bought and beat both games, BOTW > Horizon although Horizon is actually an okay game and worth checking out if you've got a PS4.

I'm not that guy, and I agree with you to an extent, but there are times when a person can watch gameplay footage and tell if it's a game they are going to enjoy. I can watch Civ V gameplay and know that it's not something that would be fun to me for instance. I can also watch footage of animal crossing and know that I won't enjoy that either.

It's a finished product, and it looks like trash.

I thought Horizons shooting looked really boring in video too. Seemed repetitive, weightless and had no impact.

But in game it felt really good and setting up traps and swapping arrows to take down robots is fun as hell.

From the gameplay I've seen, yea, it plays like trash.
Guns have no weight, enemy reactions are muted, AI is retarded, the cover system is wonky (but that's a staple of ME games), and generally speaking it looks like the same piss poor effort we saw in DA:I.
Western games have been dropping the ball this year when it comes to gameplay, aside from maybe For Honor.
Shame it's P2P with awful netcode and a Ubisoft game that'll be dead a month from now.

You can't be this stupid. Games are designed to provoke a response from the player , you can get an idea but you can't critique & compare objectively.

It's like watching CS:GO tournament vs being the last guy alive having that feeling of fear & uncertainty as you're trying to guess where the other team is as you try and 5k and win the round. You can be like "CS:GO has only aiming down the crosshair whereas COD has that & down the sights aiming therefore from what I've seen it's better" but then you actually play it and you finally understand the intricacies.

Being sjw game is the least of Horizon's problems. There's literally nothing to do in the game other than finding collectibles that are pinpointed on the map and fighting robo dinos and evil white men, and the fighting isn't even interesting. You got a spear that has one basic attack and a few ranged weapons. The bow physics are pants on head retarded. Arrows fly infinite distance in a straight line until they disappear in the horizon (no pun). There's no stamina meter so you can just dodge roll infinite times and never get hit. The combat is piss easy even on the hardest difficulty.

It's an open world game but there's no exploration element to it because the map shows you everything you need to do and everywhere you need to go. The entire game is one big checklist. The biggest offender is that you can't interact with the world in any way other than killing some of the designated npcs.

Honestly, Horizon is one of the worst open world games ever made, if not the worst. More accurately, it's one of the worst games ever made, not just open world.

Sure, I love Titanfall 2, RE7 is great, EDF 4.1 is fun, looking forward to Nier, but I always look at the gameplay of these games before buying them.

horizons story is pretty interesting, terrifying, and fun. the whole game is about discovering the world of the ancients and learning about the machines. zelda's story is kinda a standard fantasy thing.

all the NPCs in horizon are fully voice and have good expressions. the NPCs are usually interesting characters in their own right. zelda's NPCs are mostly uninteresting text based quest givers, except for a hand full of waifus. waifus are important tho. so zelda wins the waifu catagory.

many different tpyes of enemies, and many different types of weapons, all with dramatic different effects and uses, and attacks. makes horizons combat fun. zelda's weapons break... all the fucking time... and there are only a half dozen different enemies? lame

zelda has better dungeons. the physics puzzles are a major advantage over horizon which only really has platforming, sorta, and combat dungeons.

overall i would give horizon a 90% and zelda a 85%.
