They're getting better. MGR ran okay but it was locked to 1080p and 60fps with 30fps cutscenes and like 20gb FMV data. It was a rather shit port. But Korra at least was a lot better.

Nier Automata isn't optimized well for consoles so it'll probably run like shit on PC too but we'll see.

DXMD performance was ok once you turned off MSAA and that one soft shadow option.

Alright, so I never played Nier or Drakenguard. What is this game like? I keep wanting to compare it to MGR, DMC, or Bayonetta, but it really doesn't look like that, and people say it's very RPG-like in addition to the action elements. Will I have fun with this game you guys think?

Platinum PC ports are fine. They're not mind blowing, but you can get really good performance even on toasters.

Don't expect a huge array of graphical settings to tweak, NieR will play fine.

Well actually, recommended is mostly always the best PC they have in the office that can run everything maxed. Also, companies like to bloat PC recommendations so toasters don't complain they can't run it. So basically, it's normal for most recommended stuff to be overbloated.

There are a lot of PC ports that really do run worse than the console versions, though. It's not just about settings, it's that the game looks and runs worse than the console counterpart for no reason. However, Platinum doesn't have a history of this so I don't know what everyone is worried about. Denuvo doesn't do shit to performance either, MGS5 and Mad Max had it.

I can't confirm them because I stopped even bothering to try to play them, but isn't it the case with at least half the Ubiosoft games released now? And Arkham Knight too. It's just upsetting that I find myself surprised over good ports instead of simply disappointed with bad ones. It's how common the bad ports are now.

Arkham knight is the only one I can think of recently that was really unplayable on PC compared to consoles, otherwise there really isn't anything, but it's fun to laugh at console players who act like they are all completely trash and can't even be played.

Arkham knight runs decently NOW, at launch it was factually unplayable in PC unless you had absolutely top tier hardware to compensate for it, don't try to down play it, it was awful. Still only one game 2 years ago.

It ran well, but had like zero customization you'd expect in PC games. The fact I had to use another application to hide my mouse was also shit, and sometimes the resolution would just fuck up randomly when going to a menu because I have a 16:10 monitor despite being set to 16:9.
