Saw the official sega PS2 one for even more.
What's so good about this controller?
...
>muh fightan' gaymes meme.
face button layout and I think the dpad were both loved by many
It's supposed to have a great d-pad and generally be the best gamepad for fighting games
Fits VERY well in your hands, great face button layout, and a god-tier D-pad.
man, that part was pretty depressing, and I'm not even an Asuka fag.
it's the ultimate 2D game controller.
>ps4 won't allow sega saturn mayflash adapter
fuck this gayearth
i had to settle with the hori gamepad, which isn't too bad but it does not compare with the saturn pad
the saturn dpad is like the best thing ever
no this is
god-tier ergonomic design
not even a segafag. it really is/was one of the comfiest and most logical designs
I had one of those. Lasted about 2 years before the buttons started to not work because of how it's designed. They put this large rubbery cover over the buttons and they eventually crack from use. The dpad while okay, doesn't compare to the real saturn pad either.
Bought it while it was still $25, but was still somewhat disappointed since it worked wonders while it lasted and my saturn pad is still kicking after all these years.
It's pretty comfortable. Nice ergonomics for holding and I don't get cramps easily. The 8 way dpad is unique and versatile can easily used for both 2d and 3d games, although it's obviously best for 2d. The 6 face buttons are great for fighters as well.
it's allright, but i still prefer the saturn gamepad
6 face buttons with 2 shoulders
God tier 8-way D-Pad
Lightweight, perfect form factor
Console just so happened to contain countless arcade ports, shmups and fightan games
Outside of arbitrary shit like turbo and rumble, it is the perfect controller for 2-D and fightan.
Perfect*
**************for 2D games only
...
>No analog
It's shit by modern standards.
Great. the shitposters have arrived.
>buffalo USB
>Shitposting
>make a controller based on the super nintendo controller but dont make any improvements on it
lol yeah, you are shitposting buddy.
Is that the Japanese version of the controller? How good is the USA version?
why is her crt widescreen?
OP is talking fighting games.
doing the brutality in mk3 was marvelous, still remember scorpions'
xxb zzcz xxax
anything close the new ones brutalities in mkx, they are shit
any controller with a dpad like that is a piece of shit
Saturn is my second favorite Sega System.
I get that arcade ports were a big deal back in the day, but the originals play better on emulators now than the ports do on actual hardware.
>Perfect*
>**************for 2D games only
It's hard to find any 3D games worth playing desu. I can think of 1 (one) in the past 7 (seven) years: Fallout: New Vegas.
Where can I purchase a Sega CRT?
is the saturn the most underrated console of all time?
Look up 16:9 CRT'sl. I've got a Samsung model from like 2006, don't know if they existed in 1995.
Heavy fuckers.
Japs were ahead of the curve
memes
Got you covered bro.
...
>hikari is forgotten about in rebuild
fuck anno
The stick and triggers are pretty bad on this desu
Ew
...
gotta make more room for mari, goy
>Hardcore plateformer
Might wanna fix the text under the Saturn controller, user.
Xbox One cannot be god tier, because it hurt too many people's hands and wrists. Mine, included. Never had a problem using any other controller. Only the Xbox One pad.
>DS4
>God Tier
It's OK at best, the D-pad is one of the worst i've ever used, the buttons are bad and the battery is terrible, in part because of the retarded light on the back
>dualsuck 4
>god tier
FUCK
NO
AWW
HELL
NAW BREH
SONY ALWAYS WINS BABY
There's a few reasons.
>d-pad is really, really nice, hits diagonals reliably and all
>it's nice in the hand, not too small even though it's not particularly big
>six face button layout (actually, I don't like this, mostly because it's a pain to hit certain button combos, much more than four face buttons+four triggers, I'd much rather have two good R buttons if I'm playing Street Fighter on pad vs Z/C )
the L/R buttons on the Saturn controller really, really, really fucking suck though
honestly, this is the biggest issue with the Saturn (and hell, the DC) these days
the machine is worth it for Bulk Slash alone though, hot damn
for the original US pad:
>the external case is wildly different
>the more angular shape is less comfy, but I do like the increased size
>most of the internals and plastics are almost the same in build quality
>the d-pad is fucked with enough that it's noticeably worse -- same mechanism, but the awful shape gimps it hard, dunno if you can swap a JP style d-pad into it, haven't looked into it/tried
>the L/R buttons suck even more
I swear by it when playing Virtual On on the Saturn, though (since I don't have a pair of twinsticks). I dunno, I just like using it more vs my JP pad there.
but only there
the US second model pad is the same as the JP version
DS4 only works trough wireless Bluetooth right?
normal micro usb
and it works as generic usb joystick
no drivers needed
>the L/R buttons on the Saturn controller really, really, really fucking suck though
yeah, that's my only real complaint sadly
they are really really really really feather sensitive so i accidentally press them every now and then just by having my fingers against them
I might buy one then.
DS4 has shit battery and unnecessary touchpad, plus d-pad is not as good
they are really practical. but being honest DS3 is better as gamepad
How easy is it to input fighting commands on the Japanese Saturn controller? Like, the moves that involve rolling your thumb? High accuracy rate for that?
This shit was the best for Ultimatimate Mortal Kombat 3, attempts to play it on snes-like controllers after felt like playing FPS on gamepads.
Extremely good.
Playing KOF '98 with a Saturn pad is a joy (it's a real shame the machine never did get '98, I'm using mine in MAME with a mayflash adapter).
What games are on the floor?
...
DS3's pretty cheap in build quality though, and way too small
>god tier d-pad
That shitty disc d-pad breaks easily, Playstation and Nintendo have the best d-pads in their controllers imo.
I can't even find them on eBay half the time
Any good controller to emulate Genesis and N64? So far im using the x360 controller for everything and works great, feels great and is compatible with everything.
Only one I can see is a PuyoTsu knockoff
The original controllers.
A challenger approaches.
>No analog
I'm not seeing a problem.
That begs the question...
Why don't modern console controllers add two more face buttons?
