Why couldn't he let go?

because BEAR AND BULL
He was spooked.
You can convince him to let go
Also Dead Money was the best DLC, it was just on point in every way
A New Vegas Thread by any other name...
But this one actually has a topic and isn't a general.
Tell me about Ulysses. Why does he wear the mask?
Character is silly looking.
Does anyone actually believe what Ulysses said about Tunnelers? Everything else he said was either completely insane or just plain bullshit. Why trust him on that one thing?
I killed them all.
I don't take him at face value when he says that, he's just out to piss off the Courier so he'll say anything to get that result. I also don't agree with Avellone either.
Ulysses was right, Fallout has to end, New Vegas is the best we're going to get out of it.
>I also don't agree with Avellone either.
He says, as he gobbles down more and more shit like Fallout 4 that Bethesda keeps putting out.
He keeps them out of the Mojave if he's spared
Avellone wants everything to go back to post-apocalyptic, for all progress to stop and the wasteland regress. Another war for resources sounds way more interesting.
>sided with NCR whole game
>HURR DURR SO YOU'RE WITH HOUSE HUH?
>new game, side with Independence
>HURR DURR SO YOU LIKE THE NCR HUH?!?
I fucking hate this game sometimes
DETROPER
Why did nuking the Long 15 or Dry Wells cause the soldiers there become Marked Men instead of regular ghouls?
A very good question. It's a major plothole, noe of many LS has.
Does he even have a speech laid out for you if you go independent? Every time I've went independent he just yelled at me for siding with House.
Was House dead when you started?
He could not let go because he saw the dead faces of his old tribe.
In the eye's of the white leg's who thought he should lead them.
He has some kind of PTSD
You need a mod iirc
yeah
i always do lonesome road after completing the main game and the other DLCs
If you roleplayed that his accusations were wholly or at least partially true, then he was a cynical romantic in a world that only rewards the former. He saw the blinding potential in the Divide, and believed he had to avenge its spirit after it was destroyed. I personally headcanoned that the brutal training of the legion made him obsessive over what he may have seen as a second chance for himself as well, and its destruction shifted his obsession onto the person who destroyed it.
If you roleplay a courier who didn't destroy the divide, he's a batshit insane legionary with the keys to a nuke.
As far as I could tell, the Mojave would actually be one of the safest places from the tunnelers.
Soft sand actually isn't very conducive to tunneling as it collapses too easily, and they showed obvious disdain for bright and open areas, which is almost the entire desert.
They might be a danger in the ruins of D.C or the Commonwealth, but even if they escaped the Mojave would probably be fine.
storms ripped off their skin
>and its destruction shifted his obsession onto the person who destroyed it
Nigger I didn't destroy shit, I delivered a package. It's what couriers do, deliver shit from one place to the other. Couriers are not even supposed to check what it is that they are delivering, that's not how it works, Ulysses is a courier himself for fucks sake, he should know how it works.
He should look for the guy who send the package, not me. I didn't do shit.
You did.
Doesn't make sense. Turning into a marked man is something that's only supposed to happen in the Divide. Why did the detonation of a nuke turn those soldiers into Marked Men as opposed to regular ghouls?
That's how they were created in the Divide.
There are no storms on Long 15/Dry Wells.
>And... and then... they tried to honor me - not the Legion. They brought me before the campfire one night, showed me how they changed themselves, how they wore their hair now. It was like my entire dead tribe in the firelight, teeth grinning red in the dark - eager corpses, blood-covered ghosts. They... had taken my braids, the way of the Twisted Hairs, as if it showed they were like me, of me... while every knot in their braids spoke of raping, violence - and ignorance of what the knots meant. They thought to show respect... defiled it. Lost myself in trying to read the braids they wove, when I remembered they had put no meaning in it. They had no history of what it meant.
Ulysses' problem was that he always saw meaning where there was none. He thinks that when the courier destroyed the divide, he was sending a message - but there was no meaning, no message. It was an accident.
Pretty sure a nuclear blast is enough to rip a man's skin off
Because he's a terrible character that's just a soapbox for avallone to complain about how fallout needs to go back to being a post-apocalyptic world in ruins, and this was important enough for him that he was willing to torpedo most of the role-playing potential of NV to do it.
I sided with house and he thought I sided with NCR, because I did some quests for them.
>you were supposed to rummage through the package you were delivering, especially one that's pre-war technology with no authorization or skills implying you not fucking it up
IIRC, the Twisted Hairs actually had a written language based on braids.
In that case most pre-war ghouls would be marked ones, while they are pretty much exclusive to the Divide.
Is there an uglier, more annoying, more pretentious piece of shit game than this one? Every time I see one of these images in the catalog a blinding rage consumes me and I instantly feel the urge to sage it and tell you to fuck off back to /vg/.
Sage, and fuck off back to .
No I didn't, fuck you. I just deliver mail. Get the adress of the fucker who sent it.
Because his unique face is actually a unplayable mask they made to covered his actual face. That's why he wears the breathing mask (otherwise you'd see he has no lip sync) and he doesn't blink.
He's a big bull
Why you mad tho?
The whole point of his character is that he argues that that very excuse isn't applicable. When you gather under a symbol, perform a deed, or anything, there is a reasoning behind it. Ulysses saw the price that was paid when someone carried a message in ignorance, and he speaks against it. His entire point, like a lot of Avellone's writng, is based around not bad or wrong, but to consider and try to see a greater depth of why you do what you do. Accident isn't acceptable, as neither are their braids, because there is an intent behind it, and if you don't even attempt to perceive and heighten it, the greater things will be lost to the filth spawned in the lesser ones.
But you did. You delivered a package. Had markings that matched those in the Divide. Not all... but enough.
that's what i'm saying. the white legs put no thought into their braids, yet when ulysses read them he saw atrocities. the courier put no thought into their package, yet it destroyed the divide. There's a paralell between the courier's history and Ulysses', but he never makes that connection.
He didn't complete Dead Money.
No, The Courier did in fact destroy The Divide. Of course, you forgot that, because...You know, bullet to the head and all.
>dumb nigger with a mask
The destruction of the Divide mindbroke him because he just cannot accept that fucking horrible things can happen for no reason at all with no malice intended.
Thus he cooks up that bigass conspiracy theory and blames you for fucking everything up. He cannot dissociate his thoughts from symbolism; he is always trying to rationalize things that just happen by chance. He is entirely ruled by spooks.
I would have liked it better if they left out the part about them describing how Ulysses saw your name specifically on the manifest. Instead of Ulysses targeting the player specifically I would have preferred him to just be absolutely mad and doing whatever he can to lure any courier he finds into the Divide as a deathtrap. Though you can call him a cunt that has the wrong guy I suppose.
He does but the way the game decides it is on your rep. So you could be going impendent but Ulysses will still think your helping the legion because you have the most rep with them.
It's fucking stupid but I think there's a mod to fix it, where he'll base it off how far you are in a each factions quest.
THE BULL AND THE BEAR
>But you did
No, I did not destroy the Divide.
>You delivered a package
Yes. Which does not make me resposible for whatever happened because of the thing inside.
That's retarded. It's like saying guns kill, not people. Guns don't fucking kill, people who pull the trigger do. I was the trigger, the sender of the package was the one pulling it.
>Had markings that matched those in the Divide. Not all... but enough.
So? I'm just delivering mail. It could be fucking birthsday cake for all I care. Couriers don't check the insides of the packages they carry, not how it works.
No, Ulysses confirms you were not aware what you are carrying and throws a bitch fit about you not checking what's inside. Even though as a courier he should know you don't do that.
Why would somebody burn a man before throwing him off of a dam?
PACKAGE
COURIER
DIVIDE
MACHINEEEEEEEE
But you did. Military markings, from some place the Bear had savaged in the West. {Beat, trying to draw player out here} Maybe seeing those markings on it reminded you of home... made you carry it.
He was thrown off the grand canyon
...
Is realistic weapons damages a good mod? From what I've heard it makes armor pretty much useless.
The Courier had no intention or motive to destroty the Divide, it was an accident and that why he hates the Courier cause he lost everything for no reason and seeks a reason behind it
When in the end, it was just a accident,
Because he's a shit character
>Military markings, from some place the Bear had savaged in the West. {Beat, trying to draw player out here} Maybe seeing those markings on it reminded you of home... made you carry it.
How the fuck do "military markings" indicate it was a device that would set off the nukes under the city?
1 headshot kills everything but also kills you in 1 hit
Even if the wepaon is a .22 pistol and you are wearing power armor.
Which makes it shit.
I have to ask. What mod for the animations and info?
There was death in that package, and while the Chip is important to Old World ghosts... no, you are more dangerous than that Chip ever could be.
Hitman's Weapon animation mod
Hitman's Ammo/condition checking mod
Thank you
>There was death in that package
I DIDN'T PUT IT IN THERE YOU PRETENTIOUS DREADLOCK-WEAVING FUCKING NIGGER
I'M A COURIER, NOT A PACKAGE CONTROLLER OR SOME SHIT
I
DELIVER
NOT CHECK IT
FUCK YOU
BOTHER THE GUY WHO SEND IT
I DIDN'T SEND IT
YOU HAVE A BEEF WITH HIM, NOT ME
FUCK
YOU
Because finding it is not the hard part
>Also Dead Money was the best DLC
Your taste is absolutely horrible
hes not wrong at all.
Gamebryo ladies and gents!
This, don't kill the messenger like wtf its his job
>dead money was best
if it weren't for the ghost people and almost the entirety of the gameplay of the dlc I'd agree with you. The story was excellent, easily the best out of the 4.
no he's right m8
>tfw i let go
feels both good and bad, man
>Da Bears
>Da Bulls
>Chief Keef hair
He's a pureblood Chicago nigga. Chiraq niggas don't let go until the streets are stained.
how do you even manage to maintain dreads that good when you're ulysses living in the divide
Shouldn't be too hard. He's black which makes it easier and you actually get dreads from not washing your hair for a long time, so as long as it doesn't rain often his hair would pretty much maintain itself. He would just have to braid it again every couple days which doesn't take long when you learn it. Apparently his tribe taught him how to do it when he was a kid so its probably pretty easy for him.
Honest Hearts was the best.
>Randall motherfucking Clark
>Joshua Graham
>Zion is comfy, peaceful and relaxing with that survival vibe to it and slow pace
It's also the only down to earth and most immersive DLC- no one-of-a-kind old-war casions with deadly technologies, no quirky science, no nuclear warheads, no donut steel ghouls or bearsandbulls.
Just an honest caravan job that ended up with you getting caught in a small tribal war trying to find a way out.
What is the best option to choose for Return to Sender if I want to hurt the NCR? I can't decide if it's better to let Hanlon continue to do this thing or make him kill himself. I've never done this quest before.
I'm really having trouble coming up with a Great Khan/Raider character, other than doing chems what weapons to roll with, and what quests to do.
Let him continue.
Hanlon is smart enough to understand that NCR can't afford to hold the Dam and patrol the whole length of Colorado- he wants the Mojave campaign to fail for NCR sake, for everyone's sake really.
You could try this mod:
nexusmods.com
Its made by the guy who made the obscurum pandemic mod. It adds a modified version of that mods combat system. Armour is still useful from what I've seen. Also adds other effect, like getting hurt by shrapnel from explosives, shockwaves from grenades, and also gives you command of your own ranger regiment if you reach a good enough status with the NCR called the bullfighter regiment. It converts the NCR safehouse into a base for them.
...
I think it's hilarious how they had to give that Deathclaw in the tunnel 1 HP just to "prove" Tunnelers were a threat to even them.
THE BULL AND THE KEK
The "Dead Money is best" meme needs to stop.
Fucking just great!
Now we have gangsta nigger's coming to Sup Forums.
>MFW Sup Forums is everything the globalist would love to have but Sup Forums has it by nature..
O shit MB I'M GONE
*LEAVES ROOM*
*WALKS DOWN HALL*
*ENTERS Sup Forums DOOR*
Has anyone ever set up an AI battle between actual deathclaws and tunnelers to see who would come out on top?
Brap
Is Josh Sawyer gay? He sounds pretty effeminate
Is tale of two wastelands any good?
No. You'll start up, not being able to wait till you get to new vegas, then realize you just wanted new vegas anyways.
People get mad about Ulysses because they want, or expect, outright baddies who plan and execute their schemes according to perfectly-laid out evil plans. They want villains to slap down. Ulysses' reasons for targeting the Courier don't make sense and aren't supposed to make sense, because he isn't of sound mind. He's a broken, irrational man, who sees meaning and malice where there is none, and desperately wants someone or something to blame for his misery. But people don't seem to understand that. They assume it's bad writing because they're used to cackling two dimensional baddies.
No he just likes the taste of penis.
In the Dead Money ending it states that Dog/God hears about the battle at the divide between couriers and hopes the player won. How the fuck does that happen if the couriers were the only ones there to witness the battle?
Avellone wans't wrong though. World was getting too civilized and end up being boring as a result
I kinda want another FO game to take place during FO1 to be honest, or FO2 at best
AT LEAST YOU CAN TALK! WHO ARE YOU?
what is this meme
"Brap" is somehow supposed to sound like flatulence, just another stupid meme
