Fate/Extra

Should I even bother playing Archer's route if I already read Stay Night?

Please respond have a Caster.

He's great if you like to get references and a very unique playstyle but otherwise, nah.

You should play all routes. Or at least all routes which interest you.

Why would it matter? I mean, he is the same guy by technicality, but this doesn't make him identical. Plus, you aren't exactly playing through the plot of Fate/Stay Night in Fate/Extra.

Extra Archer isn't Shirou

I finished the tutorial and MC had THAT dream and it reminded a lot of UBW. Just wanted to make sure because I'm a lot more interested in Saber and Caster.

Each route makes sure you get a different taste of the servant so yeah, do it.

You might as well play the character you are most interested in with your first playthrough. It can be a bit of a long game, so no sense in wasting your time with one you don't care much about.

Saber is the easiest, at least with the most HP and with the best Attack/Defense based on her strongest stats. Archer is second. Caster ends up third - she can easily make that up when you start bumping up her stats, but she will always have the lowest HP and so the greatest risk of being killed by some bad luck.

ArcherxfeHakuro is the best way to play the game

Saber is a Mary Sue
Caster is a slut

Caster slingshots way harder than the rest to make up for the struggle in the early game.

But you have to do one of the sidequests in killing a particular enemy a number of times to unlock her strongest spell buff ability. I might be wrong since it's been years.

You should play all routes.
Technically, he is.

Week 6 had the best fight music

You can relive Archer vs Lancer this way though

I'm betting you that CCC will be localized first before the fan translation finishes.

He is, but like all Shirous, he's had different experiences.

He is a pretty chill Shirou compared to angsty FSN Archer, or GO Archer who is suffering incarnate.

That looks terrible

That's because Hakunon is the best

So what the fuck happened to this Shirou? Why did he go full 100% chocolate instead of just milk chocolate?

Don't know, we only know his backstory, that he had to kill a shit ton of people in life and it fucked him up real bad.

Assuming that he had a lot harder life then the other Shirous which caused him to use more magic and then burn himself up even more then the others.

It's implied he slaughtered Kiara's cult

I always liked this game

So CCC is relevant now?

The buzzcut is fucking awful

More or less
Grand Order seems to be the maximum canon tho

Archer in F/SN was only angsty because seeing his past self REALLY ticked him off.
Remember how he was before he saw Shirou's face. He was teasing Rin and having fun with her.

>Hey guys here's another shirou but wait this time he looks awful and he suffered a lot! More than everyone! He makes the original's life great by comparison!
Reminder that GO is cancer and anyone who buys into this shit should be euthanized

It is if you're an Archer fan. Just be sure to play as Female Hakuno because her interactions with him are a lot better than the male ones.

It is unironically the most cost efficient thing Type Moon has ever put out and it'll remove any sort of need to make anything else ever again.

WHAT IF WE TOOK A SERIOUS VN

>no Tsukihime remake.
well thank fuck for that.

Yes, and that's the absolute worst thing that can happen to a franchise. A fate far, far worse than death.

The worst thing about it is that it's fucking working

>more people became fans of Liz from F/GO than from CCC

What an awful world

At least Liz is in FGO

Dumb Lizard poster

i dont get these games

Majority read it for the plot
Rarely anyone plays it for the gameplay

Knew this Fate thread was missing something.

Better Liz.

Nah, there are other servants. I guess play him third if you're doing multiple playthroughs.

I played a guy char with archer.
Glorious Bantz
Still, he cucked me.

What is not to get about Rock-Paper-Scissors combat?

All three servants cuck you

Liz was so fucking great in Extella, every time she appeared and that loud idol music started playing it would get a chuckle out of me

some things to consider:
>sabers route is closest to the route used by extella
>saber is the best servant
>saber always wins
pick saber

Kuso baba

>saberface always wins
ftfy

Good thing no servant except Gil survives the CCC route. But not like CCC matters.

Liz survives - Hakuno's got lizard-inna-box

Too bad Extella makes like two lines of mention about her repenting before she goes back to her old ways, and never explains anything.

Caster > Saber.
You just don't have what it takes to be a proper husband (female)

im hoping last encore can clean up some of the mess that is the extra storyline leading into extella and maybe justify another entry in the series

Still no news about that all.
Wonder when CCC's Volume 3 is coming out.

Fate/Extella made me like Nero.
It also made me sad that Emiya just kinda sat around doing nothing outside of me using him exclusively instead of Nero during her routes.
Hell, pretty much everyone who wasn't Nero/Tamamo/Atilla had really lacklustre roles.

I just finished the game like a week ago, I have a couple questions

Is it possible to get a bad end through choices alone?

What happens if you try to leave Altera's side when given the choice between her and Caster, or if you try to kill her when she's asleep?

I didn't bother with any of the side routes after I beat the game, because desu the game is pretty shit. Are any of the story routes worth a damn?

It was Nero's game after all. Watching Tamamofags get cucked is a sweet thing.

In the true end he ends up with all three

Only Tamamo is truly against multiple wives, she's not as happy as she could be.

And that's terrible.

It's great

Strange how relatively accepting she is at the end of Extella. Also, how she only seems to blame Nero for the situation. Going by the Sup Forums threads, I would've though that she'd behave a lot worst towards the protagonist in such a situation.

what the fuck is that? every single thing i learn about grand order makes it sounds ten times worse than the last.

A handful of female designs are the only good things to come from it.

Wait until you see Thomas Edison.

Servant, or Stand user?

if you get summoned, what class would you be?

some bullshit about bad use of magic taking a toll on his body, repeated used turn him into a kebab, so if he keeps abusing his magic he goes full on blacked

Avenger

>That looks terrible

Welcome to Fate spinoffs

>anyone who wasn't waifu bait in the Fate cashgrab spinoff was sidelined

I wonder why

Hey now, FKL and Zero are actually pretty good. Extra too, if you consider it a spinoff despite Nasu writing it.

>A discussion between Nasu Kinoko and Takeuchi Takashi on Fate/hollow ataraxia and the Fate franchise that in Fate/complete material V Hollow material, which was released in February 2012.

Takeuchi: It’s fun to look back on it because it’s been so long, and just how much we have drawn. I’m so impressed with myself.

Nasu: So the last entry to tie up the Fate series has been released, and I guess we finally close the book on the Fate canon this time.

Takeuchi: All in all, I’m happy that this book came out to bring TYPE-MOON circle prior to the release of Mahoutsukai no Yoru.

Nasu: At first I'd aimed for CCC to be something that can be enjoyed on its own, even more so with Extra. And that Extra can be enjoyed even more with CCC, like Fate/hollow ataraxia to Fate/stay night. But as I wrote the scenario, I became aware of a desire to state the "answer" of the Fate series, which has been continuing for almost ten years now. After ten years, I finally realized that "this is what I wanted to say with the Fate series." If I'm able to complete this, then there'll no longer be anything left for me to say.

>permitting anything that fails to follow the thematic and setting conventions established by Rakkyou, Tsukihime, F/SN, and DDD
>possibly believing Extella remotely managed to capture those conventions at any point
>insipid fanservice garbage at worst which utterly destroys Nero's character
>the most inconsistent braindead shounen idiocy at best
>not full autism rage at the state of the setting and Nasu's increasing incompetence, given the existence of F/GO
>EX rank fucking everywhere on everyone
>all of these pathetic attempts at humor in the years following Mahoyo's fumbling publication
>now all the fucking memes are the most prominent thematic and setting conventions within Type-Moon works because they've been used more than the original ones Nasu wrote of during TM's first 7 or so years from 1998 to 2005
>Tsukihime remake never, which is probably not a bad thing

Thomas Edison is the best.

Hah, what a sham

Anybody played Extella?

Is Tamamo objectively worse than Nero or am I shit? Her combos suck.

Tamamo is garbage.

Fate needs to just be taken out behind the shed and ol yeller'd. It's making Nasu money hand over fist but the franchise itself has degraded to the point where it's unrecognisable.
Yeah she straight up plays really badly.

He is a personification of nameless heroes

I know it seems crazy, but Servants are actually not a JoJo reference.

He's still Shirou.

That's called metaphorical bullshit.
Archer calls himself nameless because he feels he's completely different from Shirou in every way now so there's no point calling himself Emiya.

Berserker or Archer
Rider

Should I even bother with Extra? I love Type-Moon but this is such a kusoge. I got EXTELLA forever ago but don't want to touch it because I've yet to finish Extra which has been sitting on my Vita for a year or two.

No, we don't need more Arturiafags go sell those games right now.

how do I even get Stay Night working with eng patch

literally anime only faggot here or as they say "filthy secondary"

My heart belongs to Akiha

...

Strange, Tamamo was my favorite.

Maybe it was my extreme bias towards her in general.

>Maybe it was my extreme bias towards her in general.
Waifufaggotry tends to sway a lot of thoughts

I'm pretty sure nero is just the best because of the godly moveset, everyone else seems way too slow and gets canceled out of most combos they can do

I don't know. I think it's more a mater that Neros playstyle just didn't click with me.

On the other hand Tamamo has a few moves that I rather liked.

Though again, that might have been bias. Extellas Nero bias made me a bit resentful towards her. Especially considering that her rout needs to be played first and I just rushed through it.

Nero and Garcher are the most functional characters. Although Garcher would be better suited to a DMC or Bayonetta styled game with all the cool stuff he could do with projection.

>nerowank even in gameplay
I'm glad I didn't buy Extella.

I can't be mad at it considering Caster gets the best ending in her rout.

Though it bugs me that the "true" rout is a harem ending where Nero and Tamamo are just fighting for your affection for presumably all eternity.

Fate stuff completely goes over my head. I like the series somewhat, but I can never understand what exactly is canon and what is a spin-off. I've read the original F/S-N, watched F/Z and played Extra.

Which games are canon after F/S-N? Where does CCC and Extella fit? Why is Caster so perfect?

FSN follows its own plotline. Zero comes before it and Hollow Ataraxia comes after FSN

The others usually follow through their own times, like Extra-verse that has Extra, CCC, and Extella going in mostly chronological order.

How does FSN relate to Extra?

I mean Extra is full of references to FSN, that the Moon Cell based the school and NPCs on people from a war in the past.

I see. Maybe I should tackle Hollow Ataraxia sometime, then.

Extella is out of the question before CCC gets translated somehow. How and why they thought releasing a sequel to a game that wasn't localized is beyond me.

From what I remember, the timeline diverges around that accident that the MC in Extra has flashbacks about. In that world, magic and science become intertwined somehow, so Magus start being called Spirit Hackers or something like that.

It depends on commitment. If the MC ever commits to Tamamo alone, she will castrate him for cheating. If he doesn't, she'll be bitter about the whole thing but won't get too much in the way.
It's kinda integral to her idea of devotion.

Extra is an offshoot timeline to FSN. Something about an enormous war that decimates most of Earth's population and Extra's events mostly take place in a digital space. They're not completely related to their original counterparts but NPCs and the likes were based off familiar people. No one from FSN except Archer is the same from FSN. CCC messes with that as FSN Master-Servant partner show up in optional battles in some dimensional rift.

>Extella is out of the question before CCC gets translated somehow. How and why they thought releasing a sequel to a game that wasn't localized is beyond me.
The thing is, CCC barely matters in the event of Extella. Some servants like Gil and I think Elizabeth remember it but what happened there didn't influence anything. One particular thing is that I remember some details about how Hakuno's real body is back on Earth after CCC's true end and his soul split apart and that's where Extella takes place.
