Best 2D Zelda.

Too linear and held back by its platform. Having to open the menu to switch items every five seconds gets really annoying, and those obnoxious messages when you bump into rocks and shit without the power bracelet equipped are just the worst.

Original is better than DX.

one of my two favorite zeldas

Do you have any more concept art of it in that style?

The first Zelda I ever played and probably my favorite one.

...

It's the best example of a video game making use of "it was all a dream". I can't remember another game that treated it as an integral part of the plot instead of a cheap ending twist.

based, thanks

I can keep posting if ya want

It's great, but the Oracle games do everything it does better

>the Oracle games do everything it does better
Except overworld. Link's Awakening has the best overworld of the handheld games.

...

Graphics are badly outdated.

...

Great but improved upon in Capcom's Oracles

Gameboy games are in the same tier as NES and Atari. You don't really pick on their graphics unless you're talking in relative terms.

Holy fuck she's even hotter than I imagined.

>Atari
The fuck is wrong with your eyes?

the artist is Katsuya Terada, just so you know

It was pretty good desu

Best Zelda game.
One of the best games ever made, in general.

A true 10/10.

best feeling action in a zelda game
roc's feather is a fucking dream ( ) to use

FIRST POST BEST POST

though I'd go so far to say best Zelda period

Best 2-
Well fuck, what said.

BotW became my favorite 3D Zelda but LA will always remain my favorite overall Zelda

...

remake with the concept art's style when

What, no, the game looks beautiful

He must be talking about the Atari 7800 or possibly Atari ST computers.

Link's Awakening was my first Zelda and is one of those games that had a lasting impact on me. The feeling of going down on the beach for the first time and having to navigate past the sand enemies to find the shield is forever embedded in my mind.

not sure how well it would translate, but do want

The concept art depicts a slower, less action filled experience which would be received poorly by the series audience. So never.

One of the best Game Boy games. Tied for my favorite Zelda too.

...

>The feeling of going down on the beach for the first time and having to navigate past the sand enemies to find the shield is forever embedded in my mind.
But that didn't happen.

Except that's wrong.
You get the shield when you leave the house.

I liked how odd and playful it was.

I mean how they used the dream setting to just have fun with what they included. The numerous Mario references, that strange color dungeon in the DX version, the fact that you can straight-up steal from the main shop - they were just fucking around.

Not my favorite Zelda (or my favorite 2D one either, for that matter) but it's still fun.

>to find the shield

But yes, that part is a pretty great setup.

youtube.com/watch?v=S6d6hht030w

Sword, dang it. Not shield.

Boy that's embarrassing.

How the fuck do I open Anglers Cave

Bad grafics.

He committed genocide.

>Mfw looking at Eventide Island more closely on my map in BotW

why the fuck was sword search the most memorable track in the damn game

Great game, but massively overrated.

I think it's outclassed by either Oracle game.

Best Zelda game in my opinion. In my top 5 favorite games.

Reminder that Yoshi Koizumi wrote the script and created the dream concept for this game.
Look it up if you don't believe me.

OH!

youtu.be/0j1VCmAzMvA

Watching everything vanish before my eyes as a kid while this played was some emotional shit. I think it was the first time I felt something other than just ordinary excitement in a game.

Reminder that Minish Cap is the best Zelda

Which Zelda was more kino, Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, CDi Zeldas, or The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls?

Wheres the toadstool for the racoon

Past the cave in the forest.

I think it would fit Zelda 1&2 but Link's Awakening was described as almost a parody of Zelda by the devs and Koholint has a lot of quirky characters and Nintendo cameos.

This is the second time I've heard Minish Cap highly praised recently. Is it a legit good game?

I love it a lot, bit you gotta try it for your self

>still get goosebumps hearing the "YOU GOT YOUR SWORD BACK" tune
Fuck.

just started playing this game a while back after Sup Forums recommended it, where do I find Bow-wow the chain chomp?

It is a legit good game, but calling it the best Zelda game is absurd. Quality wise-it's comfortably lodged in the lower-half of games. Not the worst, but below par.

In the Moblin camp in a cave up from the heart piece surrounded by holes IIRC. Been ages since I've played the game though.

Angry manly concept art Link is one of the best Links. This is the face of a man who's put up with so much bullshit and has had enough

It's a good game and one of the better Zeldas and it has the best writing out of any game in the series, one of the best localizations in any video game.

I must be retarded, i didnt think you could move the boulders without the braclet. Thanks user.

This one is also reaction image material

I love this style, fuck all the Link threads that are just him in various gay outfits

and this one

IT"S ALL A FUCKING DREAM BRO

Is there a dark Link fight in LA?

Classic Ganon looks intimidating in this art style.

Its a great game that I love to play every now and then. At the same time I get these existential goose bumps whenever I play it. The Nightmares might be trapping Link on the island but they're also keeping it alive. By waking the Wind Fish you 'kill' every inhabitant of the island. I find it hard to justify those actions and wonder if I seriously doubt if I could bring myself to do the same thing in reality.

I love the more dynamic pictures like this one

That art style was used for the previous Zelda games.

I used to love it but after replaying it recently it really didn't hold up.

Still better than A Link to the Past though.

First Zelda game I ever beat, so I have a bit of a bias for it.

I don't think this series is technically concept art, more like "officially commissioned work." It covers several games.

...

>still better than A Link to the Past though

>IF THIS GHOST BITCH DON'T SHUT THE FUCK UP

This is fucking horrifying

But Link is a cute

That's not what I imagined the Thunderbird looking like desu.

More like masculine as hell, before Japan as a whole went bishie as fuck.

its funny how many people don't realize this

It was in the official guide. I remember poring over that thing as a wee lad. Good times.

Majora's mask was the better "it was all just a dream" game.

What's better about the original?

it's good but don't you dare say that you're going to 100% it
you'll totally ruin the experience with the grind

I think that's meant to be one of those wall statues that shoot at you in Zelda 2

my favorite zelda, and best girl. I remember we went on a road trip to see family across the country and me and my brother were both given LA with a green and red gameboy each respectively. I don't care if it was nostalgia, that shit was the best.

love this one

...

In all seriousness, he was never "masculine as hell." Even in this art he's something of a pretty boy.

Gud game.

text can be skipped, items can be switched faster, and in general is less hint heavy.

Ah, forgot ALBW, which I'd probably put above Minish Cap.

Zelda 1 and 2 being at the bottom is all the proof anyone needs of your plebiness.

>text can be skipped, items can be switched faster, and in general is less hint heavy.
Explain all of these. I've played both and as far as I remember the only difference is the color, some sprite changes, and a hidden dungeon.

>muh 8 bit nostalgia
1989 is when gaming began.

Tal Tal Heights is my favourite piece of Zelda music. I remember starting up the game just to listen to it sometimes.

youtube.com/watch?v=hOo5yr76RJs

It's the only Zelda I've actually finished and I loved it.

Oracle games were kinda disappointing by comparison.
