It was never going to get the big multiplats, or if it was they'd be shit versions.

What they need is third party devs to make Switch exclusive games.

yes.

The amount of bribery needed for that would be immense, devs nowadays want to at least be able to port their games to PC. Sure they could publish a handful of games, but a whole library? hmm

Some of those links are outdated. Like the Andromeda team has backtracked on their statement.

>No ME:A

Why would you even want that steaming pile of shit on the go?

Besides, I bought the Switch for exclusives. I have a PC several times more powerful than the PS4 Pro.

Switch will only lack in western 3rd party support, and who gives a damn about that? All that matters is Japanese support, which will be strong once Switch cannibalize 3DS and Vita.

>and Vita

Except reception of the Switch among the Vita community is terrible. The most common reason isn't even devs switching over like people keep saying either. They just hate the games on it. The ones they don't hate are also available on the PS4 + remote play so it doesn't even matter. Meanwhile the 3DS fanbase is still frantically trying to deny the Switch being a successor to the Wii U, but not the 3DS.

It will do worse or equal to the Wii U. There might as well not be any third party support in the US its just depressing how bad this is gonna tank before its over. Nintendo will always make money with portables because of Japan and JRPG-Pokemon niche fanbases. Eventually thell have a choice of just making money with their 3ds platform forever or calling it quits and go the way of SEGA.

>yfw Sony predicted this and just sat out the handheld race for a generation since Nintendo was going to crash and burn without their help

I bought a Wii U on launch and can tell the Switch is just some 2.0 version, it will go the exact same way

For the first year or two you'll see watered down weak ports to fit onto the Switch, just like with the Wii U (Mass Effect, Tekken Tag) and then out of nowhere they're just going to stop being made, because the majority of consumers would rather play these multiplayer games on a stronger console with a normal controller

I hope that Sony creates a dedicated handheld. I can't bring myself to care for home consoles. I'm too used to playing games underneath the covers like I'm hiding my sinning from God.

After how ME:3 was done on the WiiU why would anyone expect anything Mass effect related to be on a Nintendo console?

Well what is it you Sonyfags?

No it will fail because Nintendo only releases games that are worth a shit on the 3ds

The vita is dead man, time to let it go. Japanese support will flock to the Switch.

>hate the games on it
What games? Zelda? 1-2 Switch?
Wait for it to have an actual roster of games before saying this.

I hope to god the Nintendo Switch fail. I bought the wii U on launch and it was a mistake I regretted. Seeing people buy into the Switch hype makes me sick. Nintendo fooled me once but never again.

Which is why the Switch will benefit from would be 3DS games, since those studios will also develop for the Switch.

>Upcoming games:
>Mario
>Weaker PS4 ports
>Multiplats

What does the Switch even have over the PS4?

The Japanese flock to the PS4

>The Japanese flock to the PS4

PS4 ain't portable friend.

If it doesn't get the support yea it will fail.

There isn't a single example of a successful console without strong 3rd party support, and the switch isnt going to be the first.

Third party making switch exclusive games would sink that company immediately

It doesn't need western third parties, just like the 3DS didn't need western third parties. It will get many Japanese third parties just as the 3DS did.

I really hope you're right, but that remains to be seen

The 3DS had barely any Japanese third party support. Outside of a handful of known titles, it was a wasteland of chinese flashware shit.

Certainly it didn't get the massive piles of shovelware the vita got but it still got several great games notably Bravely Default and Monster Hunter.

youtube.com/watch?v=TlKEduVgK1E

Look at this vid to get a sense of what a 3rd party developer thinks of the Switch. Spoiler, it's positive.

>Bravely Default
Not even /nintygen/ can unironically say this was a good game. Reaching for games like that is crazy.

>A-At least it wasn't as bad as this other console!

It's still a shit library user. There is literally no reason to own a 3DS if you don't like Monster Hunter. If you want RPGs just buy a PS4 / Vita / Steam since they had better ones.

SMT and Etrian Odyssey bruh

Not a very sound business decision especially in comparison to the very large player base/potential sales they could make making an Xbox One/PS4 exclusive game instead.

Persona 5, for example.

>scratches your screen.

The Titanfall 2 devs were publically shitting on it because it's such an underpowered piece of shit hardware. Third-parties pretend Switch is fine but the lack of games says it all.

The Switch needs weeb games from Vita and PS3 developers. Both of which are dead now and could use a new platform.

Which is PS4. Jap third-parties were ignoring 3DS aswell despite it outselling Vita factor of five to one. Third-parties hate Nintendo and Nintendo doesn't care so long as they get to sell toy hardware for $300.

what is this, actual innovation in my vidya?

How do you define "proper" 3rd party support?
What kinds of third party support don't count as "proper"?

>Which is PS4.

It's not portable though, The Switch will eat the market up.

nobody wants to play AAA multiplats on console. if it gets the same third party the 3ds and vita did ( Layton, ace attorney, atlus, all nip weeb games) then it will be based

Even when in monopoly third-parties avoid Nintendo. Just look at 3DS destroying Vita but still getting shunned. If you buy Nintendo, don't expect third-parties. Simple as that.

pretty much this
they need a new portable to port games to for consoles in the west and handhelds in the east.
Nitnedo wont get the AAA games but they quanotty that are actually sellers is small and nintendo can use their own ips to fill that void.

>Just look at 3DS destroying Vita

Exactly.

>If you buy Nintendo, don't expect third-parties. Simple as that.

I don't but with the death of the vita and the 3ds leaving soon, they're going to develop for the Switch. The PS4 isn't as japanese consumer friendly, even the Vita beats it in that regard.

Op at least check your facts.
>hearthstone not voming to switch
Yeah because you can play them on other consoles..
>RE7 not coming
The developers them said they want to port it to switch.

Most of these article are so fucking old. Deud ex HR not coming..why should it?

Dragon Quest XI is going to be a mess on Switch. UE4 is demanding as fuck.

god...the switch is going to end up as being a shitty indie machine isn't it?

I wouldn't say it's innovation.
It looks great but it's not really innovating anything.

that has to do more wiht jap devs being lazy fucks on just looking for ports on ps4/ps3 and vita, if the switch can get show it gets a similar market as the 3ds then they will follow since is also cheap dosh and mobile is more popular there. it has some big names there like tecmo, bandai, from, arc system, atlus behind it so it showing promise. TGS or E3 will reveal more about that developers suport.

Oh that dev that has sold millions of copies from its CoD killer games? Yeah it'll be a shame not seeing it on Switch.

>ue4 is demanding as fuck
no it isnt, is probably one of the less demanding engines in the whole market.

This. No one who bought a switch bought it for COD or Battlefield or whatever flavor of the week AAA game was shown at E3.

>UE4 is demanding as fuck
the reason it is so popular is becasue it isnt.

>The Japanese flock to the PS4
ps4 games abrely sold there, they will jump on the enxt portable just becasue portable is more popular. we saw that with the vita.

Yes it is. Look how hard Tekken 7 is getting downgraded for consoles.

It's popular because it's easy, not because it's not demanding you idiot. There's a reason why you don't see so many open-world games on UE4. Shit would break on consoles.

How long until this cute character is in vore porn? I'm calling it now. . .

>implying it won't get a handheld only version the size of the vita within 2 years for 200$
it will do fine

>The Japanese flock to the PS4

Nips don't give a shit about anything that isn't portable Sonyfriend.

What I'll never understand, is why do 3rd parties want to just...battle it out in the same muck with each other?

Shouldn't one of these 3rd party dev's want to aim to be a "Nintendo 2nd Party" dev like Rare was? You can hone in on a market that hasn't got as much options, and you can target to that system and it's base and build some really fucking great games.

Literally, why is no one trying to be new Rare? They might find it hard at first, but if they keep bringing the games, they'll turn into thing people know, rather than just another everyman PS4/Xbone dev.

because nobody wants to take risks anymore. same reason devs like rockstar made like 10 ps2 games and so far only 1 ps4 game. make less more profitable games

autism

No.

Nintendo ips are enough.

The reason the Wii U failed was mainly because of the marketing.

I'm not even a Nintendo fanboy and most of those games are fucking garbage

Gotta make good games for that. It's definitely possible to compete with Nintendo's best, but it takes a lot of work and talent when you could just release another Vita game with some cute anime girls.

It won't be an issue that those specific multiplat titles aren't hitting it.

Besides, there's like, one or two games on that list I'd like to play, and I haven't NOT bought a PC just because they aren't going to be available there.

Probably not even that since why would indie devs made their games for Switch when there's bigger market on Steam?

Nintendo IPs are not enough. Keep deluding yourself and thinking it is. Any console without third-parties is more or less entirely useless to the mainstream audience.

Third-parties always flock to Sony and then port their games to whatever else they can. PS4 is the standard console of this medium. If games can't be easily ported from PS4 to Switch, third-parties won't bother. They cover enough audiences with PS4-Xbone-PC. Remember, they even ignored the Wii despite selling so much.

Nintendo is going out of style fast

Devs are lazy, like really lazy. They won't backport a year old game to a new system unless it's a cheap Steam port, it's just too much work.

If there's multiplats it's for games that haven;t been announced yet.

That's because Vita allows complete garbage on it's system. Have you seen the psp library? It's basically riddled with VN's. Like the real kind with porn. And Nintendo is too stuck in the mud to allow that.

I've bought Zelda for my Wii U and am now asking myself, why buy a Switch? The only game I'm hyped for is Mario. There is literally nothing else confirmed. I'll probably just get a PSpro, I'm sick of nintendo's shit.

I don't think Nintendo can survive in the west without AAA game support. Not having those yearly AAA titles for the Wii U hurt it. Even games like FIFA sell millions of copies every year. It's just an easy way to get software sells.

It looks like a completely unique way of moving around in the environment.

zelda, mario, metroid, animal crossing are system sellers for a lot of people

The Wii proved nintendo is completely fine with having garbage on their systems. The wii had the worst and most blatant shovelware I've seen apart from the Ouya.

Go on the Switch subreddit. It's all full of people asking for AAA multiplats.

>metroid, animal crossing are system sellers for a lot of people

Just pointing out we got neither of those on nintendo's last system. We didn't even get an exlusive Zelda, just a shitty port.

This. I buy nintendo consoles for nintendo games, and they just don't deliver what I want anymore. Switch will be the first nintendo console I won't own.

>If games can't be easily ported from PS4 to Switch

These guys ported a PS4 game to Switch in a week. It is definitely not out of the realm of possibility.

I think the mobile-but-not-mobile hardware serves as a deterrent

Ones that Sup Forums will accept. So basically nothing.

>What they need is third party devs to make Switch exclusive games.
Only a few will materialize. Even then, most people won't give a shit because they want the consoles that can play all the big names.

This.
I still love Nintendo games, but I'm completely fed up with their shitty hardware at this point.

>What does the Switch even have over the PS4?
Portability on par with 3DS?

And yes, I had to add the "on par with 3DS" shit, because some idiot would start spewing the "lol 2h battery meme" again.

Which would be fine if it were a replacement for the 3DS and not the Wii U.

I wouldn't really call switch as part-"portable" because it is something that you will not really bring somewhere outside. It's more of a "I have to go to the toilet but I don't want to pause the game so I'll just use the portable mode".

>3DS fanbase is still frantically trying to deny the Switch being a successor to the Wii U, but not the 3DS.

Nintendo has already said 3ds support will wane in the coming years after Switch settles in, and then they'll BEGIN to make a successor. for better or worse shit is here to stay bro

>Switch will only lack in western 3rd party support
This.

The DS and 3DS had no western support

I think Switch will start getting all those budget Vita to PS4 ports it's always getting.

It just seems like it fills that weird niche.
