Kratos is not someone you're supposed to side with in GoW 3, hence the bittersweet tone of the ending that they completely ruined by confirming that the PS4 game is a continuation
Travis throughout desperate struggle is taken for a ride even moreso than he is in NMH1, and Jasper Batt Jr. being as retarded as he is is supposed to be a reflection of the futility of the killing taking place from all the characters in the game.
So yes, they both suck. But they're supposed to suck.
