Is Undertale the greatest game of all time? I think so.

I found it fun and liked the meta but I wish they could have gone deeper with it. Plus they ruined it by advertising the pacifist route instead of having players find it out themselves.

The Mother series is infinitely better and nore fulfilling and less pretentious and doesnt look like ass.

it's been like that for about a year or so now

Found it really tiring that every line of dialogue was an ironic gag and every encounter was supposed to some kind of subversion of rpg conventions. Has decent music but the only way I can see it being viewed as a masterpiece is if you have literally never played any other RPGs.

It's a good game and there's more to it than it seems. It would be a great tool for teaching children humanitarian values, but it's a little too shallow to adequately serve the same purpose for adults.

If we're comparing Earthbound-inspired indie RPGs, personally I prefer LISA, OFF, and Yume Nikki. The first two are more closely comparable than the latter, but they're all good.

Absolutely disagree. Mother was a cute idea for a game set back by restrictive technology and overall poor design. Earthbound was basically the same game, except fantastic. As a game, that is. As a story, it was mediocre. Certainly not on the same level as Undertale's writing, but as an overall game experience, I'd say it was easily superior. Mother 3 is really the only Mother game that bests Undertale hands down, both in overall game experience and in writing specifically. That being said, the character development was lacking; Undertale's characters are certainly more memorable. That's okay, though, because Mother 3's story had ways of being good without being character driven.
