Did you guys like this game? It doesn't look too bad from the youtube vids i've seen of it.

It's Minecraft with a worse camera and gear that degrades so fast it makes BOTW weapons look unbreakable.
I really liked the demo.
>DQ series is so unpopular that they have to make a minecraft clone a la lego
depressing
I hated the demo
it's great
If you like Dragon Quest and/or Minecraft you might like it, I guess. That's literally who its for. I'm a gigantic DQ fan. I like the IDEA of Minecraft, but was never into the game. Bought this just because it was a DQ game and ended up enjoying it.
I play it on and off, it's a cute little game. I wouldn't really compare it to Minecraft, though, they're not really trying to do the same thing. This game is actually much more of a Dragon Quest game that lets you interact with the environment like in Minecraft, but PLAYS like a JRPG with city-builder elements. The main point of the game is to rebuild the villages and towns in the world so that the people, who have been cursed to forget how to create anything until you remind them, can resettle and rebuild anew. So, unlike in Minecraft (unless you install mods of course) you have people to take care of and build a little village for. Then once they're settled in they start doing stuff for you, like making use of the kitchen to cook you food or make weapons and armor. They even take up arms and fight with you when your town gets attacked by monsters. You're making a town and it starts to live and breath with NPCs that gather to you. It's really nice.
I actually really like the concept and would love to see a sequel. I think a lot can be done with it, like imagine building up and managing an entire JRPG game world like this, where you explore the world, settle it with NPC folk who start taking up occupations and are responsible for its defense, and once its self-sustaining you continue until you have a series of kingdoms that can provide the necessary resources to defeat the evil in the world once and for all. Some sort of JRPG world builder.
Doesn't Fallout 4 (try to) do that with Settlements?
Played the shit out of it. Loved every second. Will buy sequel.
suprisingly good put alot of time into it
Fallout 4 didn't really try to do anything with those settlements. They're just kinda there. You can go through most of the game without having to deal with settlements at all, like right after the first few missions for Sanctuary.
The game I'm talking about would completely involve town creation. It would be the entire point.
Nah I hate weeb shit
you are literally retarded and havent played the game at all
dont give them (You)s
it's a solid game. leaning on babby's first minecraft, but addition of dragon quest balances it out. it just made me wish for more base building in games.
Comfy as fuck game.
I heard a lot of good things about it around here when it came out.
Are you me? I'm seriously pissed that's always a side activity in any game that features it.
>Xenoblade Chronicles
>Breath of Fire 3
>Dark Cloud
I started playing the demo yesterday on vita and the tutorial was kinda pissing me off at how much it was holding my hand. Does it get better? I gave up after like the third fetch quest
I really like the way room designation works, it's really simple and it's cool being able to upgrade a room with more and superior furniture and decoration. Building castles in this game is super fun, I just wish there was more to the town defense.
Honestly, not really. The game is a long list of fetch quests and rescue missions with some town defense. Excuses to go out and explore the world.
maybe if they gave NA/EU DQ10 it would be popular
> It's a minecraft game with DQ theme
> Help rebuild towns during post apocalyptic DQ
> Protect town from being destroyed by mobs by building a great wall of china
> NPCs will sleep, fight, cook, make things and do whatever the fuck they want.
> discover new room designs by accident
> has actual legitimate engaging story
It's a great game
It was this game that made me realize I wanted such a game. It's a really cool idea. Imagine spending the first half of the game building up the world and the second half managing its growth while parties of adventurers travel through to restock on supplies and use the services your towns can provide until one of them finally takes down the big bad.
Same here.
