They are very different games and both great for different reasons.
Zelda because you can actually climb up cliffs as soon as you reach them. Absolutely hated trying to run up a surface in XCX, getting halfway there and being unable to go beyond even though it looks like you should be able to just jump up. The game just fucks you into thinking you can explore wherever you want whenever you want but in reality you need to wait until you get your flying Skell. Also in BotW you're likely to get oneshotted by every big enemy early in the game but at least you can sneak around, run away from or even beat them if you're skilled enough. I know XCX is an RPG so I'm not expecting to be able to beat level 70 monsters while I'm level 15 but it fucking sucks when some massive monster notices you and can kill you even if you've ran half the map away.
BotW is good, but XCX world is gorgeous:

Xenoblade X
This is like comparing wii graphics to pc
XCX
Never doubted you for a second
Honestly, they're both very different in gameplay to the point of being incomparable. Zelda's a great action adventure game and XCX's a great JRPG. Not really any reasons to choose one over the other, especially since they're on the same console.
Comparing constant 30 fps on a wii u to sub 20 fps "gameplay"
gameplay wise, zelda
general A E S T H E T I C S XcX with no doubt
Monolith Soft are gods
This is a Nintendo trailer in 2013
youtube.com
I like both a lot.
What the others have said
Different games, not really comparable. Prefer Zelda, but XCX is amazing
I want to visit Elma's knoll. If you know what I mean.
Too bad Monolth Soft is going back to boring linear tradition in Xenoblade 2, 1 step forward, 10 steps back.
I'm glad Nintendo realized how great Monolith are at open world design and decided to ask them to help on BotW's world.
I want to be able to explore Mira in BotW's engine.
This. Such a failure for talented studio.
Monado Boy 2.0 on shitty hardware with terrible generic kawaii-ugu characters design.
See I would have said that Zelda has better gameplay and XCX has better story
But everytime I go to say that I'm constantly reminded how shitty 20 fps feels on a game touting gameplay.
How monolith soft got XCX to perfect near flawless framerate is just amazing.
fuck I meant world design, not story.
But then again Zelda story is quite shitty so yeah I guess there is truth to that
>How monolith soft got XCX to perfect near flawless framerate is just amazing.
Nintendo helped optimizing the game.
...
We barely know a thing about it. Kind of early to write it off like that.
Zelda in terms of world interaction and detail.
Aesthetics XCX.
Battles are neater on XCX too.
Story I will say Zelda just because that STUPID ASS "wooow i guess mira is a weird planet xd" ending
both, currently scratching that X itch with BotW
Xenoblade 2 info when?
giant robots when
>detail.
BotW looks like Play-Do compared to X. What are you smoking?
Mitsuda has composed at least 55 songs for the game, and large-scale recording is set for the end of the month with a live orchestra.
looking forward to that
still, I'll miss Sawano
Me too, bro.
I NEED A BIGGER GUN
That's aesthetics.
What are YOU smoking?
>that pop in
Jesus. Literally Ps1 tier.
>greatest console era of jRPGs
is that supposed to be an insult?
One has shit gameplay, the other is BotW.
>He couldn't git gud
One has I CANT HEAR YOU, I CANT SEE YOU
The other has a man pressing a key on a piano once every 45 minutes.
>Nintendo trash
Not even close, faggot
>console war faggotory
That's like comparing Witcher to Farcry. Completely different games. Open World is not a genre
fucking this.
The music in BOTW is complete garbage compared to the all the other installments.
At least XCX had some music. Not everyone's taste though.
>The music in BOTW is complete garbage compared to the all the other installments.
>40 hours in zelda
It has music?
I hope Xenoblade 2 has mechs in it, and that they're pilotable in some way. I want to see Skell combat and exploration improved.
Nothing pissed me off like seeing Face Mechons in the first Xenoblade and not being able to pilot one especially when Fiora could.
>Skell
I'm still mad
yes, a piano note every 30 seconds.
Best music to have while running around about 40 hours in hyrule field :^)
BotW is the better game by far, but Xenoblade X has the better world, also by far.
dunno, I like Zelda's ambiance
that kinda rare in games
Music in BotW is great, it just doesn't play very often.
Honestly I think I'd get sick of Hyrule Field music if it was playing constantly while I'm dicking around.
I say the most we'll get is more ridable animals. Hopefully a flying one too. The only thing that disappointed me about BotW is that you don't get one of those birds form SS to fly around.
>Which open world game is better?
Gothic 2 or Morrowind
Apples & oranges, but I can speak highly about Xenoblade from the standpoint of a guy who just likes good vidya. The simple fact that I can go the whole game without needing to pause to replace a broken weapon, recover any of my health, or check the map speaks more volumes to the fun I'll have than BotW, everything feels seamless, straightforward, and overall more fun. Combo that with the catchy music, the amazing world, and the loads of tyrants you'll happen upon, and it's clearly the more fascinating choice. BotW has the advantage of "New Game Syndrome" on it's side, so just wait like a month or two, and the awe factor of its break from traditional Zelda and venture into AAA open world adventure games will wear off on most.
Also Hope a qt, moreso than frog autism eyebrows girl.
I just wish you could actually register them. I spent ages trying to get a deer and then they tell me I can't keep him at the stable.
>without needing to pause to replace a broken weapon
Use the quick change, it takes two seconds.
>recover any of my health
Because XCX auto heals you after a fight.
>or check the map
This one is true. They gimped the gamepad features to make the Switch version seem more "equal".
>the awe factor of its break from traditional Zelda
I don't have any awe factor, cause it's 3rd zelda game I playing and first I played more than 10 hours - therefore zelda is whatever franchise for me, and I gotta say it scratches exploration itch left by X nicely.
Lol what did you want to play with dolls instead you fag?
The translation was super fucked up doll and puppet are the same word in japanese and it was implied for it to be puppet but then through a couple more translation errors and marketing discussions they thought someone wanted to call them exoskeletons but they changed it again to skell because people wouldn't get wht a giant mech would be call an exoskeleton
I just wanted my own white doll.
>we will never have a Xenoblade X world with Zelda gameplay.
>you want to play with dolls instead you fag?
always
>git gud at a MMO
Zelda
For the simple fact that it actually has an ending.
never ever
Xenoblade 2's sole existence in this world is to leech off the casual, but bigger install base of new users on the switch. This means:
>linearity
>cutscene heavy
>standard jrpg violin music
>shonen
>story focused
>gameplay deprived
>grinding amplified
>pointless sidequests
But hey we want the Japanese audience right, casual money and brand loyalty, right?
>XCXfags will never end their whining
No way in hell I'm buying a Switch for the game but I'm optimistic.
I have faith in them hell X is a terrible mess but it had loads of amazing things about it.
I'm still mad and will gladly admit it.
hey, don't judge all anons cause few faggots
XCX is probably my most favorite game of decade, yet I loved hell out of XC and can't wait for X2.
Just gimme more, monolith
more
Xenoblade (2018) with Zelda's engine.
Also how awesome would a Pokemon mainline game with a focus on exploration using Zelda's engine would be?
>pokemon
just let the franchise die already
at least it's not running at 20fps
XCX is an exploration game
BotW is an adventure game
Both open world, but with completely different priorities.
I got a used Wii U just for Breath of the Wild, is Xenoblade worth a go?
>expecting a pokemon game above 240p with modern gamplay and graphics
That's like expecting Konami to hire Kojima back with a formal apology letter.
>Battles are neater on XCX too.
What the fuck is so fun about spamming skills and just walking around the enemy?
about the same amount of fun as one shotting guardians with an ancient arrow.
yes
Pokemon is alive and well mate, Sun and Moon were some of the best selling games on the 3DS and it even drove up sales of the 3DS. That's without mentioning that's it's actually a pretty good Pokemon games, top 3 easy.
I'm always holding hope that GF will stop being lazy.
>not using a pot lid
>Pokemon is alive and well mate, Sun and Moon were some of the best selling games on the 3DS and it even drove up sales of the 3DS. That's without mentioning that's it's actually a pretty good Pokemon games, top 3 easy.
they are boring as fuck
just make them more hotblooded already
I find it rather disturbing how people praise the world design of Zelda without ever playing XCX on the same system 2 years ago.
>I'm always holding hope that GF will stop being lazy.
You should work in a rehabilitation center, you would get the job instantly with that level of optimism.
that's because XCX overworld is static as fuck and empty.
Its a real travesty honestly.
I'm going to laugh how hard Skyrim will run on this shit.
zelda and Shitwitchfags are really fucking pathetic
What are you fools talking about?
where in my comment did I mention gameplay
I said world design. there is nothing in the world of Zelda to praise, only the interaction with the world. But that interaction isn't done by the world design it's done via a physics engine.
Are you implying Xenoblade wasn't linear, cutscene heavy, shonen, story focused, gameplay depried, grinding amplified with pointless sidequests and standard jrpg violin music?
youtube.com
Sawanofags need to go home.
Compare that garbage with this
youtube.com
please, XCX has far superior highs
Zelda demonstrates that having generic less irritating music is not always a good thing.
That's entirely subjective, while I don't get the same amount of hours from them as I used to get when I was a kid I still find the games very enjoyable
Fuck outta here with your reasonable opinion
I'm implying that Xenoblade Wii formula should be burned to the ground.
Xenoblade X formula should be enhanced, preferably with gameplay focus
Been playing XCX for less than a week but...
>Terrible story pacing
>It feels like im actually playing pacman with all those collectables
>""Side" quests"
I actually liked BOTW soundtrack.
But I digress its bare minimum to even most of the tracks in X.
probably the most memorable tune in Breath of the Wild is Zora's domain, that's about it.
I'd say Sidon's theme or Molduga.
Yeah Xenoblade X was a giant chore to play.
But it wasn't all that bad the world was pretty immersive and the grand scale of everything was worth it.
It's great ambience though. Piano tracks are generally great for background music when you're relaxing.
XCX also has some great piano tracks.

Not saying it has a bad OST, just wondering how you can say BotW has garbage or no music
Oh I totally agree its making me want to go visit the world once more.
Maybe when I have more free time I'll dust off my Wii U and just fly around.
No it's not bad. Far from it but it's just a bit too generic to the point where it really just feels like it's no different from playing without any sund or music at all. Instrusive music maybe gratic or spectacular, but it makes things memorable for good or bad. Having forgettable music is just worse because it feels like a waste of development time.
Nah man. The labyrinth theme is both more memorable, and also the best track in the game.
