So is the new Mirror's Edge any good?
Are the environments any good at least?
So is the new Mirror's Edge any good?
Are the environments any good at least?
It's not bad but it's shit compared to the first one.
Damn.
In what way?
everything really
Yep. Everything.
There's not even a single thing that the game does better than the previous one.
/none/
Not graphics, sound, gameplay, story, map, anything you can muster up, /nothing/
That's a pretty gook.
She's okay.
The open world was a mistake
Everything else is pretty much the same, visuals are better but it gets very repetitive real quick
I hated the first game and even I was mad at the direction they took the sequel, it didn't even try to play to the strengths of the original game. And then they did shit like jerk off about how they removed the ability to use guns but then locked you into forced combat situations anyways where you needed to clear the room to advance. Like what the fuck.
Worse cutscenes than the 2d ones from the first game?
Oh yeah, and also your movement options are tied to a bullshit RPG system for some reason. And there's also a reliance on a magic path that the game shows you with a straight line, not visual cues like the first one.
Come to think of it, the first game was a lot better.
...
I want to kiss her nose.
In my opinion, yes. I hate cutscenes overall but I prefer detached cutscenes than in-game cutscenes. Attaching a different artstyle to the game is not the worst thing in cutscenes.
eskimo kiss I presume
... they give you map markers? Why?
I uninstalled it when it tried to teach me about the skill tree.
sensible
its pure shit
you know how Sup Forums usually memes about "X game fell for the open world meme"?
this is one actual case for that
it turned into complete garbage
>skill tree
Oh God what?
I was getting the hang of the combat controls, as goofy as they felt. I was ready to give the open world thing the benefit of the doubt. Then this screen came up.
I closed the game and uninstalled. Luckily I didn't buy the game.
>movement
So what does this mean? You can't run as fast or jump as high or good until you put points into that shit? Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
Wait, it came out already?
you get xp and spend points to learn like quick-turns and slide-rolls or something. unlock some from doing quests i think? not really sure how it worked and didn't care to find out. i'd rather play the first game another time than think about it because i'm stubborn and hate change.
Yeah, I guess I'll be skipping this shit as well.
Not even worth a pirate.
Don't listen to that faggot. MEC is great in its own way.
For starters, MEC isn't linear, it's open world. It has a more cyberpunk vibe to it with glassy looking buildings and sky fraught with various drones. MEC has a lot of variation in architecture, there are even areas looking like something you'd encounter in ME.
The worst things about MEC are probably plot and combat NPC's AI. The former is just a pile of garbage that goes nowhere written by a 5-yo with down's, the latter is just laziness on the dev's part. All other aspects like sound, movement mechanics and designs are all top notch.
Skill tree also isn't a bad thing. Just like the grappling hook that brought some variety into movement, though I can agree that placing roll in the skill tree and requiring its unlock was a very dumb decision that will make lots of people literally explode in a fit of autistic screeching.
>grappling hook
Oh come on! Why was that needed?
Why the fuck not? It kind of makes sense, because you really wouldn't expect the conglomerate to make life easier for runners by erecting buildings as close as possible to each other, right?
the story was the most cliche piece of shit ever written, the side quest felt like a chore, espeically the "grab this thing from here to there"
i think open world ruined this game so badly
>grab this thing from here to there"
What else to do? It's literally what runners are for.
We all know why Sup Forums hates it.
