Isn't a proper crossover, but if you actually play the game and know both series well, you going see the references.

There is a lot of stuff from both series, but most SMT references are from gameplay standpoint.

The game is more a Fire Emblem game made by atlus than a crossover.

Personas and a few monsters are references to the games, the weapon triangle from Fire Emblem makes up different physical attacks and magic types are what is seen in SMT.
These are the only things the game has in common with those two series.

The only """""crossover""""" elements are that the battle system is kinda sorta like SMT. And they summon FE characters (who actually look nothing like FE characters, and are pretty much FE in name only) to fight for them.
It is 99% an original project, advertising a crossover was false advertising from Nintendo to try and trick people

Oh fuck off. No matter how much you try to scream otherwise, #FE isn't the game the vast majority of people were expecting or wanted.

This is painfully evident by its garbage sales.

Dungeon crawling and general gameplay is similar to SMT (from my experience with smt4) and persona. Demons replaced by mostly generic monsters and personas replaced by fire emblem character souls (eh).

You go through dungeons the same as smt4 where you see enemies and try to avoid or get surprise attacks. In combat, the skills and items are all SMT stuff. Agi, bufu, etc. The combat is challenging and forces you to use support skills (against bosses at least) and this games version of the push turn system. All the elements are there in addition to swords, Axes, lances and bows from FE. Hitting a weak spot causes your other party members to jump in and combo the target. Also, the enemy types have weaknesses based on fire emblem equivalents. An enemy with a sword is weak to lance and a Pegasus type enemy is weak to bow and wind magic.

I could go on a little but you get the picture. It's pretty fun from a gameplay perspective.

Just think about it, it can be fire-emblem styled having to choose between law (maybe a kingdom dedicated to peace and birth rights at the cost of freedom) and chaos (maybe a darker looking kingdom more dedicated to conquest and open to chaos more) or a neutral route, I'd probably choose that one right at the beginning though.

Maybe even the SJ characters can show up in dimensional fuckery or something. I never thought of how well these two mash together. Eh, surprised they aren't persona-ing up the series, but I'm glad to see there's a little hope for the future of both of these.
