Do Nvidia make games run worse on older cards when they bring out newer cards?

Do Nvidia make games run worse on older cards when they bring out newer cards?

Usually things like this would seem like conspiracy theories to me but Ive been running a 960 for a while and games like Borderlands 2 and MGSV which ran smoothly just a few months ago are now tanking even on lowest settings.

With MGSV I thought it may have been a dodgy update but now Borderlands 2 is messing up and the only common cause I can find is the fact they're both made for Nvidia cards. Every other game I have is fine so I doubt my card is dying.

>Do Nvidia make games run worse on older cards when they bring out newer cards?

Yes

Yes. Tested multiple games with 780 Ti and like 20 different drivers and there was a very noticeable regression. Especially in ArmA 3 (long before the visual update) where it regressed like 12 fps on average over the course of 20 driver updates.

Nope.

Drivers only improve performance for me.

No.

my GT610 used to run R6siege at 30 FPS

now it barely gives 15

what the fuck?

If I were to roll back my drivers would this cause more problems than solutions? Most games I play are running just fine and I wouldnt want to cause a load of problems just for the sake of MGSV? Christ knows its not worth that much.

>BUTTMAD AYYMDPOORFAGS DETECTED

They do not. It's just an AMD fanboy meme. nVidia technically support their older cards a year longer on average compared to AMD. The only thing that's true is AMD cards benefit more from optimization because they're horribly inefficient with CPU cycles when they release. Older AMD cards get much bigger performance gains later on when AMD finally optimize their drivers.

It could cause some problems with newer games.
During that testing I did back then, I noticed for example that while it did increase my framerate substantially in games like Witcher 3, Arma 3, Crysis 3 and GTA5, Dark Souls 3 actually performed worse after rolling back.

Neck yourself you dumb paid shill.
Had 780 Ti, not only did it literally explode over a year before the warranty even expired (pic related), they sent me the garbage 3.5 meme card as replacement instead of fixing it. And it took them 8 months to mail me the replacement.
Never buying from Gigabyte ever fucking again.

>gigabyte

topkek

AMDpoors gonna stay poor

Its like, some people cant ever make the right choices

>never had AMD card in my life
>posted evidence of a 780 Ti (an Nvidia card)
>still calls me AMD
Yeah you need to grow a brain you dumb marketer.

>card exploded

Sup Forums is even more hilariously incompetent than Sup Forums. How do you fuck up your computer so bad that your shit explodes?

Google 780 Ti Gigabyte GHz Edition, that card is literally known to have like 20% failure rate.
Also quality thermpaste appliance by Gigabyte.

>you need a grow a brain you dumb marketer

says the one who bought GIGABYTE and even exploded

>Gigabyte

>BOUGHT GIGABYTE
AYYYYY CAN'T MAKE THIS SHIT UP.

>Gigabyte
>I think N-Nvidia did this to us, bros!

>Gigabyte explodes
>blames Nvidia
NOPE.

>Gigabyte
>for the AMD fag who's too poor for Nvidia

This pathetic samefag is not even trying to hide it.

>Gigabyte
It's was a joke right?

>no don't bully my caaaaaaaaaaard
>it's a Gigabyte

Does the company that sells game producers special gfx effects to use in their games that purposefully run worse on nonNvidia cars do that?
Gee user I don't know.

>Gigabyte

>his mistakes don't stop there!

...

>assmad

10/10 fucking ayyymads lmao

>Gigabyte
Holy fuuuccckkk

The 610 couldn't even boot siege

Well, i ran it and played it with that

>Gigabyte

Goddamn. At what settings?

Geegee bite your peepee?? Lmaaoo

Graphics lowest, resolution 1440x900

>12 posters

what's wrong with gigabyte ive never had any problems with my hardware

>he bought Gigabyte

Yes, thats why you should stop updating your drivers after the next gen comes out.

So far they are still holding up but after the 1100 series comes out say goodbye to the 900s series.

I've never bought a gigabyte card, but when the fuck did it become such a meme?
i have a pny

well since you guys are busy bullying Gygabyte user, what is the best (at least not worst) grafix card brand to buy?

I'm surprised. I remember trying to play cs go on that card and struggling

Me too, my Motherboard is gigabyte

Gigabyte is a great brand. People who spend too much money on their hardware are the only ones with negative things to say about it. No seriously, look into buying Gigabyte. Their support it top notch too. Just one fucking falseflagging douchebag posting an abused card shouldn't derail Gigabyte's reputation.

What the fuck is going on in this thread

I've got a PNY. Cheaper than the rest and it's been really good so far.

>tfw still using an r9 290 since 2013 and it runs games amazingly

Should i upgrade into a 1070 from my 770 or just wait until the 1100 series drops? I have no idea when that is going to happen.

that's what i thought, both my gpu and motherboard are gigabyte and ive never had any issues with either of them for like 4 years

Just get a 1080 Ti founders edition.

I usually go with MSI, those cards tend to stay pretty cool even when OC'd.

Rx480 Literal master race.

>XFX
lmaoing at your life.

>quick research
>xfx is the best 480 card
damn...

>what is ASUS

>what is gigabyte

Try older drivers

Or just buy an 8GB 480

>AMD anything
kek @ your life

>gigabyte
Literally who?

that one sperg reminds me of this

Comfy MSI 1050 Ti here.
I almost got meme'd into buying an RX 460

No it really is the best model. I researched it for a week before buying.

>best model
>what is ASUS

there's nothing wrong with asus
you're getting memed by Sup Forums or are just stupid

do your research m8. yes i know asus is a big brand :DD now fuck off

Every google search, every article I read, always says Sapphire or ASUS as the best 480 cards.

there's a meme on Sup Forums that asus is bad somehow
it's spreading unfortunatelly
also radeons are just bad
so

my shit is a beast. thanks microcenter for open box deals. perfect 1080p gaymen pc and I typically downsamp most shit at 1440p anywho.

bout to play some thehunter. shit is cash homie

...

Gigabyte is fine. I've been building systems for 15 years, never personally had a problem. Every brand is going to have some duds, though.

Yes. Gaming companies are accomplices in making newer games that are barely better graphically run worse in older cards.

See Xcom 2

Gygabyte is one of the hardware companies I respect my last system lasted 7 yeard being overclocked .My next upgrade includes a gygabyte mobo. Theyre one of the companies that i trust .
