Dishonored 2

I fucking loved Dishonored 2.

After reading so many hateful posts about how shit this game is, I was expecting it to be actually shit but guess what, dumb Sup Forumsermins lied again and proved to have shit taste.

Not even performance which is really not that perfect could ruin this game. And honestly I didn't run into too many of performance issues, I had 60fps 90% of the time with "very high" settings on 1080p with GTX 980 / i5-4670k.

Level design is stunning, it's incredibly and breath taking. Whole stealth gameplay is smooth as fuck and lethal walkthrough is satisfying like HELL.

Like holy shit, this game is probably 2016 GOTY.

lol bro it's published by bethesda bro you gotta hate it bro

its pretty good, the new game + is pretty nifty as well since you can use both power sets

Hate was always on performance, and story/characters.
also stuff like this not in the game at launch

It's great, the final boss fight was shit tho, literally a direct copy of the Brigmore Witches final boss.

...

Transforming house and a house with a glitching time are fucking INSANELY well made.

I don't remember having such joy while playing a video game.

...

...

But it's still worse than the original. Voice acting is used when it shouldn't, and isn't when it should be. Unskippable cutscenes in the void get really old on the second playthrough already.
Plot and pacing are all over the place, and Jindosh should have been the main villain.

...

...

>be in the middle of a murdering rampage to reclaim your kingdom
>see this
what do?

Knock her off and keep the body for future plans.

It was a mistake to reuse old plots and characters. The meat of the lore is the outsider and his powers, you could literally had any new character as the MC and it would work.
making it Corvo/Emily not only adds nothing to their character, it ruins your personal canon that you made in Dishonored 1.

>caring about your personal made up crap vs the superior quality writing of professionals

what do you mean? all of the endings were written but the professionals.

I definitely think they should've just moved the plot to a new city and did new characters. And have some vague clues to the previous game.

Emily is just unlikable in 2, and her reasons for trying to reclaim her throne are fueled by selfishness, and the fact that while she's just a shitty lazy ruler, Delilah is a tyrant.
I like Stephen Russell's voice, as well as his face design, but that's the only good parts of the game's character design for me.

The rest of the characters are just unlikable. Delilah, and the rest of the antagonists don't really get to suffer as much as the ones in the first game did. Since two of them aren't really willing, and the other two's suffering doesn't compare to the Pendleton's brothers.
Outsider was made boring by making him just some sacrificed kid instead of some personification of the void and the whales.

Basically just everything story-wise is just bad, and the things that were good in the first were made even worse, which is saying something because the first game wasn't very good either.

Game-play wise though the game is pretty much 9/10, would be better with proper stealth mechanics, level design is great. But the performance fucks it up for me since I can't get it to run at a good framerate consistently.

No fucking way. Is that a shrine to sokolov in jindosh's mansion?
I beat that twice and never discovered that. That's awesome

It's not a shrine, it's a picture of Jindosh's desk, taken from the front.

I went through the entire clockwork house without even noticing any of the switches. the first one i actually noticed was the one in the maze where Sokolov was. At least my obliviousness gave me an achievement.

It's literally his office where Jindosh stays. I don't think you could miss it.

...

I'm doing a no power playthrough and no detections. Is that even possible?

since it's not cracked yet, no one on Sup Forums actually played it, that's why the resorted to saying it's shit

>I'm doing a no power playthrough and no detections. Is that even possible?

You are literally cutting like 60% of fun from the game. It's possible if you don't die from boredom.

Yeah but this is my 4th playthrough

more sjw dross

Dishonored 2 is good but not as good as Dishonored 1, especially if we count the Daud DLC.

I hope the Dishonored 2 DLC is something akin to another 2 part DLC where you play as Billie for the first part and then an old man bearded Daud for the second.

Lesson learned OP? You are an individual and ostensibly intelligent enough to form your own opinions on videogames.

Some of the best games I played I bought against the hive mind or games media.

>Not even performance
>GTX 980 / i5-4670k.

Yea no shit that you can run this

Well I'm not underage to actually believe in what people say on Sup Forums.

I have a buddy who shits on games without even playing them arguing like a 12 years old cretin "you don't have to eat shit to know how it tastes". People like that really irritate me, why would you bash something you didn't even try? What a stupid way to live, I guess you only realize that when you grow older.

>Level design is stunning, it's incredibly and breath taking. Whole stealth gameplay is smooth as fuck and lethal walkthrough is satisfying like HELL.
Mods can we please do something about this

>Yea no shit that you can run this
It's nowhere near the top PC hardware though.

980 TI, titans, 1060+ cards are all better than that.
And i5 is not i7 or ryzen-meme.

Shitty optimisation and support (the game still runs like shit).
But what a fucking insane level design, and Emily's powers are so good.

The port was shit for a long time after release, but they did eventually fix it and that's why you can run it.
For the first week or two even people with 1080s were reporting problems.

>Emily's powers are so good.
Far reach is shit compared to Blink tho.

Freemason checkerboard floor

Far reach is more difficult to use, and for some reason much more easier to die with, but pulling enemies into walls of light never gets old.

Did they fix the shitty framerate on PC yet?
I considered pirating it but i'm not playing it with silky smooth 30FPS.

Optimization was horrible at launch. They patched it within a few weeks if I remember correctly, but the reputation was built and the damage was done. Its still not as good as it should be. I only get 108060fps 90%of the time because they added adaptive resolution.

youtube.com/watch?v=SwFGc4maxJM

It is GOTY 2016 and it's better than the first -that was already really good- in almost every aspects.

Sup Forums really do have shit taste lately but Dishonored is a special case, it is hated on principle because of Denuvo like DXMD and a lot of people just don't understand the Immersive Sim genre and don't know how to play and enjoy them.

They didn't even fix it, the just added adaptive resolution by default. If you turn it off you'll have most of the same issues you had at launch.

>But what a fucking insane level design, and Emily's powers are so good.

I feel like some of her powers are literally imbalanced. Like linking 4 people and kill them all at once or hypnotoad shit.

>the game still runs like shit

It ran well on my 680 after the second patch maybe two weeks after the release of the game.

Looks like we both got our build from PC part Picker.

>They didn't even fix it, the just added adaptive resolution by default. If you turn it off you'll have most of the same issues you had at launch.

I don't use adaptive resolution and I have smooth 60 fps most of the time. It does drop sometimes, not gonna lie, but it's nothing that gamebreaking and irritating.

I never realized how close the ship was to the place where you exit the castle.

The missions in the middle were great, but the beginning and the end were pretty poor, or at least worse than the first one.

>I don't like flawed characters
Alright then
>villains didn't get to suffer as much
Then fucking kill em
>muh whales
Fuck whales, outsider is still cool
>not a proper stealth game
Only if you don't play it like one. People make this argument for literally every stealth game

Agree I don't know why /v shit this much on it.
I truly enjoyed doing a mercy run with Emily and then going full avatar of vengeance with Corvo.

Well I can only imagine there ARE a lot of teens on Sup Forums. People who watch ecelebs and read IGN unironically.

To be fair most people here are PC gamers. Dishonored 2 was clearly made with the PS4 in mind. PC port was an afterthought.

Which really wasn't a good thing at all considering the fact that PC was the platform that was most played for the first game

many years ago I actually took some opinions on Sup Forums seriously but whenever I found the games Sup Forums shat on on sale on steam I would give them a try and enjoy them a lot. Sup Forums was right from the start about some games though.

The shit-eating analogy is fucking retarded.

Tfw still cant torrent this shit

PS4 version can't even hold 30 fps. You either get a PS4 Pro or enjoy the drops
