HOW DO I BEAT THE RADIANCE

FUCK

>doing first coliseum
>Zote shows up
>dream him while he is screaming
>makes him invulnerable

Thanks obama

I'm at like 96% completion, trying to finish up the hunter journal

where can I find more of these cunts? The one I remember from the crossroads is dead now because of the infection

Seconding this. What badges are recommended? Does the nail need to be maxed out? How much health is needed?

there's another on the path to the crossroads boss

I did it with 8 health and missing the last nail upgrade.
Forget all of what I used, but I recommend the swift badge to make Hollow Knight faster to beat, an the Unn badge so you can actually heal during the Radiance fight.
If you use the Unn badge, you can take a break and heal during his omnidirectional light strike he does 3 times in a row, and when he summons the spears that travel downwards. For the second stage you get a lot less time to heal but it's still possible.
Apart from that, not a lot more I can tell you. Just have to waste attempts learning his moves.

I talked to the game developer at SxSW today.

Apparently Hornet was voiced by the lead's girlfriend.

Before the charm notch patches, I used the following:
Dashmaster, Longnail, Mark of Pride, Steady Body and Quick Slash.

Do you have the upgraded upward spell attack? Apparently it's really good against him. Use some charms to improve the effectiveness of that spell, if you want.

Oh and I forgot, dashmaster. I used that to.

I should tell you this, user, the hunter journal does not affect the completion percentage. Just a heads up.

aw, cunts.

Grub beam charm, quick slash and quick focus. Spam the shit out of the beams whenever you can.

>you will never bah her finada

use the charm that makes you move around while healing it makes healing during the fight ez

...

They did really well with the characters. Their jibberish is cute

I wish more games had gibberish voice acting like this and BanjoKazooie.

Quick, post your:

>Most used charm
>Charm that you never used because it seemed that bad

Finished at 97% completion
I just got really fed up travelling back and forth to things I missed.

Found the Radiance and Hollow Knight fights rather underwhelming. After the Colliseum and Buzzsaw bullshit it just seemed a bit eh.

Feel a bit empty now with nothing else to play.

Did anyone see a clone of yourself standing around in deepnest?

>>Most used charm
Wayward Compass and Gathering Swarm. Equipped them in the very beginning and never took them off. Not even when i didn't need money or during the final boss.

>Charm that you never used because it seemed that bad
Flukenest. Why in the ass would i replace my projectile spell with shitty attack bugs?

follow it

It disappeared before I got to it

Keep going nigga

I dont remember where it was. feels bad man

Wew lad

I think the difficulty is very underrated, eventually you master it but for a first run it's given me more trouble than das3

Left of the hot springs, then down

thank you

>100+ tries
Jesus Christ, nigga

How many platformers have you played? Can you count them on one hand?

>nigga
As a nigger I'm offended.

So it is only me. Good to know. Plattformers are my favorite genre and I played like every major one of them. I just don't get why I have such problems with this one in particular. Like, is there any plattformer you'd consider harder? I can't name one. Except maybe the old ninja gaiden games.

What bosses are you even having trouble with? You're in for a fucking ride depending on what bosses you find find challenging.

Noice, I just finished the game, even got Hollow Knight and Radiance on my first try.
>Radiance
>Hard
Little miffed about that 98% though.

Did anyone else end up trying to brute force there way through Deepnest?

I didn't know the Lantern or nail upgrades existed until I explored the majority of it.
I was pretty fucking mad I didn't check that segment of the forgotten crossroads.

>Doing the dark section of deepnest without a lantern

>most used Charms
Mark of Pride
Quickslash
Sporeshroom
Grubsong

>never used charm
Gathering Swarm
Fragile charms
Stalwart Shell
Dashmaster

i wore quick attack, steady body, joni's blessing, and dashmaster; just spam down hollow knight, he's ez AF and you get all your blue hearts back when the radiance fight starts. radiance was just playing really conservatively, only going for one or two hits, and even then only when her attack patterns gave me a clear opening. she's not that bad imo, although i think i'm in the minority, 'cause i one-shotted soul tyrant and lost kin, but false champion (which was supposedly the easy one) fucked my face for days

>YFW OVERCHARMED

Just reached the 2nd area (Greenpath or whatever) and the game's really dull

It clearly tries to be this atmospheric, no hand-holding 2d Souls game, but the combat just isn't strong enough to carry it. Literal 1-button combat, no dodge, no block, one attack only, no items, etc.

And that pause effect whenever you get hit is SO. FUCKING. ANNOYING.

Should I farm 800 moneys for the Light? I don't know where to go but there are a few dark areas I haven't been through

I don't think it's THAT hard. It's hard enough that success is pretty damn satisfying though. For me, it was the perfect balance of satisfying without the difficulty before the satisfaction ruining the experience.

It's 1800 for the light.

The first stages of combat are in the first two areas are; it gets better when you have more mobility items. and spells. Or you can stop playing

Yes

>not enough lewd fan art but you cant draw

Actually it seems you somehow made it to the arena without any movement or spell upgrades somehow.

You know you can pogo off enemies, right? Also, you can block some attacks by parrying

Bless the anons that actually make these

...

What are some other good charm combinations with Glowing Womb other than Defender's Crest?

fuck man

>that user who shared his folder with 600+ insect porn images

I felt really bad about the mining bug.

Myla didn't deserve such a cruel fate. She was my one and only true waifu.

I hope you ended it.
That sound she made

how do you parry?

I didn't explore too thoroughly but I have trouble believing I missed anything major. I did get that ranged B spell and the charm that gives you more souls

You just need to time your hit to land at the same time as their attack. It'll negate the damage of their attack

Is there any other boss that's as big of a letdown as Nosk?
>All that buildup
>Seeing your duplicate in some other part of the room only for it to not be there when you get there
>Hidden lair past the spikes
>All the dead bugs that are thinking of how they saw their loved ones and/or family
>Tunnel closing off behind you
>Finally catching him in the room full of dead, hanging bugs
Then the boss just runs back and forwards and jumps a occasionally. Talk about disappointing.

False champion is the hard one though.

Lost Kin is the easy one.

Where do I need to go if I want a Lantern?

The shop

Where is the Shopbug? I found the bank.

That is fucking fantastic still. If I ever get the drive to do so, I'm lining that shit digitally and having a friend color it.

Not him but I had way more trouble with Lost Kin than Soul Tyrant. Maybe it's because I did Lost Kin first, and pretty much right after I killed the non-dream version.

In the crossroads. After you talk to him, he moves into a building in Dirtmouth.

Sly in Dirtmouth.
You did save him from the lower right part of Crossroads, yeah?
No. Nosk is by far the biggest disappointment. I expected him to do some unique bullshit when I saw all those fucking corpses.
>Use the Nail on his corpse as a weapon and slash dash at you
>Rip corpses off the background, don them, and change up attack patterns accordingly

Probably. I did them all with a fully upgraded character and lost kin can basically be stunlocked by bashing his face in with quickslash and the final nail. It doesn't take long to knock him into his stunned state if you're just going ham on him, and having shadow dash really lets you just stick to him.

Man, my only regret is not buying this game sooner, I'm seriously enjoying myself right now. Just got the mantis gloves and it's already vastly changed how I play.

Are there any missable items/interactions I should be aware of?

Can we go thicckeur?

Yeah I really expected to get my shit kicked in but that wasn't the case. Almost as much of a letdown as getting to the Camerata in Transistor only to find they fucking killed themselves and weren't even bosses like Sybil was.

Also
>giving up FOUR charm notches for some shitty slow healing

user plz

The only thing that's missable is the bad ending.

You better fucking post it here or in the general on /vg/ if you do it.

P-pls, it's not my screenshot!
Everyone knows the Hive Charm's only good for the White Palace.

Yea that makes sense, I did both Soul Tyrant and Lost Kin with no shadow dash.

Not entirely true, you can miss out on giving a flower to the Elderbug.
>Maybe dreams aren't so bad
Makes you feel good.

This, alot of davanced gameplay comes from timing and exicution. Theres also things like taking advantage of the iframes from the divebomb spell.

>Borrow but do not lend
Zote is such a cunt

Always.
I'm fucking slow tho.

kingsoul ;_;

Same, it took me like an hour and a half to draw that.
I'm glad people like it enough to repost though.

Then all I have to ask in return is Extra Big, Meaty, Hornet Buns in some nice garters and thigh-high stockings with those Dreamer faces on them.

Even bigger than the previous pic?

Yes.
I'm a degenerate fat-fag, but I don't want her fat, just with a comically huge rump in nice undergarments.
Anyway, video games.
I still need to kill False Champion.

Can do!
And I still need to beat all three dream bosses. What's a good charm loadout for them?

>Lost Kin
Quick Slash, Mark of Pride, Defender's Crest, Steady Body, and Stalwart Shell is great. He dies stupidly quickly if you just wail on him. If you have a pre-patch save with the 2 Cost Quick Slash, you can swap Steady Body for Glowing Womb or add the quicker Nail Arts one depending on taste.
>Soul Tyrant
Mark of Pride, Quick Slash, Long Nail, Stalwart Shell and if pre-patch, Steady Body. Just keep nicking him and it's a non-issue. Fight takes a while, but is a breeze, you can heal 1 during the 6-ball phase and after he breaks the floor, dash to the left side and you can heal up a lot.
>Failed Champion
From what I hear, the Dash charms is amazing if you learn his pattern.

Was there anything you could do with him after he returns to dirthmouth and sweet talks your bitch? I wanted to fight him again and kill him.

I mostly agree with this, although I would suggest sharp shadow in favor of quick slash against the soul tyrant because the extra dash distance helps a lot and you're not really going to get much use out of quick nail when you only very rarely have time to get more than one hit in anyway.

I suppose I used Quick in-case I flubbed the first attack, since he'd be gone by the 2nd.

Just did Failed Champion with Quick Slash, Mark of Pride and Fragile Strength.
Also discovered that you can keep the spin attack going if you keep tapping the attack button while holding up, so he went down really easily.

Huh, neat about that spin art thing.
Also, pic related is finished.

...

Oh dang, nice.
I'm gonna fight the other two dream bosses before I'll try doodling another Hornet ass.
Do you think you could digitize the other pic I did of her as well?

Yeah, sure. I actually was gonna the other day, then I lost the drive to do anything and did nothing.
But today's a good day.

I used flukenest + defender all the time.
It creates a big worm that explodes on contact and then deals poison damage in a huge cloud.
It's pretty great.

I used Wayward Compass, Soul Catcher and Mark of Pride most often.
Never used the fragile shit or Baldur's Shell.
Felt bad about that, she was top qt. I liked how you could witness the rate of infection before the crossroads became infected themselves though.
Hardest of the 3 for me was the Failed Champion simply because of how much shit you had to deal with at once

I feel that Mark of Pride was in that weird place where it's too good as it is, but any changes would make it piss-awful.

Also soul charms and soul spells are practically worthless when you can MoP and Quick Slash your way through the game. Except Quick Focus, of course.

Fragile Strength is great, but Fragile Greed and Health are obvious traps. And the fully upgraded nail still needs charge attacks for certain annoying enemies even with Strength, so it falls off too.

As for Failed Champion, he's the most predictable of the boss refights. If he jumps backward or stands still, he does a shockwave. If he jumps forward he will try to strike you. Also, charge attacks are a fucking trap and greed is your enemy.

All done.
For now.

Is axiom verge close to as good as this game?
I've already beatin it twice and need moar.
