Is this the best game ever made?
Is this the best game ever made?
yes
Yes
No, has a bunch of problems. But it's still pretty great.
Calling it THE best is a stretch, but it's definitely one of the best. Bloodborne too.
No nothing but a barebones hack n slash.
step aside kids...
>Demon ruins
>Lost Izalith
>Crystal Cave
>Cealess Discharge
>Bed of Chaos
>Chained Backstabs
>The entire fucking second half of the game
lol I like the game and consider it one of my favorites but no
Something not perfect can be best because best is relative.
Have you even played it? A hack n slash approach to the game would fuck you in the ass.
leave GOAT to me.
Nah, still pretty good. Queelana best girl
>crystal caves and lost izalith is 50% of this huge RPG meme
I fucking hate that some parts in ds1 are boring/bad but please dont fall for this meme started by DS2 apologists.
>Lost Izalith is great, you must be bad if you dont like it.
>Crystal cave was a nice transitional stage, but in no way can be considered it's own area like the Dukes Archives before it.
>the second half of the game is dank senpai git gud pussy ur just bad fgt i'll giant dad your pussy ass into the ground
best world design out of any game
I didn't really enjoy the second half of the game all that much, I thought archives were annoying. I just wanted to get out of Demon ruins and lost izalith. Catacombs and new londo were cool though.
>Crystal Caves
This is honestly one of my favorite parts of the game, those invisible pathways get my heart racing every time
Bloodborne is better
>not on PC
sorry hun
>hun

Lost Izalith is objectively fucking shit
in my opinion yes
it's my favorite, and got me back into videogames after years of being disinterested
maybe it's actually the worst game ever made
How is it the worst
why was there a moonlight butterfly in darkroot garden, is seathe related to the abyss
why are his golems just chillin' next to the hydra, is seathe related to ash lake
the clams from ash lake are in his cave so yeah
Lost Izalith is terrible, perhaps one of the worst sections of any game i've ever played. Half of the place is empty lava fields littered with dragon asses and the other half a short section filled with some of the worst enemies in the game, some of which seem like something out of a lame 50s sci-fi movie more so than a dark fantasy. And to top it all off you have that absolutely horrendous boss fight. Utter garbage.
lost izalith was so bad it killed siegmeyer
>Lost Izalith is great
>eye cancer inducing lava
>obnoxious enemies (although the kirk + daughter of chaos fight was pretty cool)
>long ass trek to the boss
>aforementioned boss is by far the worst fight in the series
>zone is overall just empty and feels like only 1/5 of it was ever finished
>entire second half is bad
Get your own fucking opinions instead of forming them from shitposts on Sup Forums.
DS1's bigass interconnected world and combat improvements from DeS are great but I could never care about muh flame and I think the game falls apart after S&O. After playing BB & DS3 going back to the older games feels clunky and while I don't particularly care about the world of DS3 it's improved on enough of what I care about for me to like it more than the previous Souls games.
Is DaS2 and 3 worth buying?
He didn't mention New Londo and the Tomb of the Giants.
Lost Izalith is objectively shit, and the Duke's Archives is pretty easily subjectively shit.
Yes. If you can only get one then get DS3, it's as active now as it'll ever be with the DLC coming up.
Its good but no
Dark Souls is my favorite game of all time and I can safely say that Lost Izalith is one of the absolute shittiest areas in video game history, it's literally only good for the lore/quests
>He didn't mention New Londo and the Tomb of the Giants.
He said "entire second half" which includes those places. And Dukes Archives is subjectively great.
THE best? There's no real answer to that question.
One of the best? It's up there. I'll never forget the days when it first came out, hell even the following year or so. Not often is there a game that is as fun to actually play as it is to post on Sup Forums about.
You'd have to have been there to understand the animosity towards Dark Souls 2.
Oh, then he's a dumb nigga who enjoys redundancy.
Notice how I didn't say the second entire half was shit, but I've been saying it for years after Ornstein And Smoug the game severely drops in quality. Also duke's archives, while the scenery and atmosphere is great, the area suffered from lazily placed enemies, and sorcerers that spam magic all the way across the goddamn area
Haven't you been on Sup Forums the last week or so.
Botw is game of every century
Bottomless Box glitch and other fraudulent methods gave twinks a bad name.
It was fine when you had to actually earn the power by beating Four Kings at a low level. The twink population was kept in check.
Your new is showing.

I have been depressed and in a video game rut where nothing is fun to me. Decided to try and go back to DaS and holy shit it has brought back a spark in me I didn't know I still had

I thought Archives was difficult, but rewarding. I loved the atmosphere also. I'd post up on a high spot and smoke a bit. Kinda the same with Irythil of the Boreal Valley bonfire before the bridge. It's just comfy.
New Londo was a bitch if i didnt have the cursed artorias great sword.
disagree
How is it any worse than Blighttown? It added to the lore wonderfully and was crucial in continuing the lore and tying DS2/3 content back to #1.
Agreed, it should've been longer and filled with more stuff and less collapsing floors.
>blighttown
The fact that it's broken by design due to being locked at 1024x720 30FPS (I don't care about DSfix, amateurs shouldn't be fixing your games for you) and game logic being tied to framerate precludes it from being the best game ever.
I mean, it does have some interesting mechanics, but the game is fucking sloppy as shit.
Greatness goes beyond framerate new-friendo.
