Remember how this wasn't the "mainline" Mario game?
Remember how WiiU was eventually going to get a "real" Mario sequel?
Too bad they have to buy a new system for Mario Odyssey. Kek, at least the WiiUfags got a Zelda port.

3D World was great though.
Actually, it was Switchfags who got the port. Anyway, I agree this did not feel like a mainline Mario game but that does not mean it was a bad game. I'm into platformers and I hadn't had so much fun with a Mario game since World back in the SNES days but yeah, I wanted what you're calling a real Mario sequel.
The Wii U still got Bayonetta 2, Tropical Freeze and Xenoblade Chronicles X. And 3D World was a pretty solid game, it just wasn't ground-breaking like 64 or Galaxy.
>Remember how this wasn't the "mainline" Mario game?
No. it was always a Mainline Mario. and it was awesome.
>Remember how WiiU was eventually going to get a "real" Mario sequel?
you mean an other one? Nope, never, even hinted by Nintendo
>Too bad they have to buy a new system for Mario Odyssey. Kek, at least the WiiUfags got a Zelda port.
Mario Odyssey, is the mainline mario of the Switch.
>, I agree this did not feel like a mainline Mario game
But it did.
>No. it was always a Mainline Mario. and it was awesome.
It doesn't matter what you think
Are you going to lie and say that you never saw a single person claiming this back in 2014?
>I wanted what you're calling a real Mario sequel.
But 3dWorld WAS the REAL Mario sequel
Fans of the Galaxy games were a bit letdown but 3D World honestly ended up being a good mixture of everything that makes Mario games good.
Come on, you guys know what I meant.
well I'm glad that you enjoyed it
It kind of felt like NSMB in 3D. If that's your thing, then more power to you.
>Wii
>Mario GOATlaxy 1 and 2
>WiiU
>Mario Furfag Adventure
What the actual fuck
>Are you going to lie and say that you never saw a single person claiming this back in 2014?
Basically everyone who was playing it.
By your own logic, SMB3 could also be named Mario Furfag Adventure. Don't be a retard.
No because that never happened.
No, I seriously don't.
I was completly differet from NSMB. 3Dworld is way closer to galaxy.
Tanookis are cool though.
Dressing like a giant literal pussy is not.
Let's be real, user. It was NSMB with better music, a Z-axis and a long jump.
I meant a 3d Mario in the style of 64, sunshine and the galaxy games.
so don't use the powerup
>. It was NSMB
Not really. 2.5D gameplay is completely different than 3D gameplay.
You got me there. But the game mechanics the suit introduced were kinda neat.
>I meant a 3d Mario in the style of 64, sunshine and the galaxy games.
3D world IS in the same style than Galaxy games.
64 and Sunshine have more free-roaming.
But 3D world is as legit as Galaxy.
>Don't use it
I don't. And guess what. I can't 100% the game because tons of shit in the levels is designed around using it to get to cer5ain areas and collect certain stars
You run to the end of the stage and hit a flagpole
If you find the 3 hidden coins you get to go to the secret stage!
Yeah, wildly different
git
gud
You can 100% the game without ever using the fursuit
Super Mario 3D World is absolutely a mainline Mario game, stop calling SM64/Sunshine/Galaxy1&2 the "mainlines" when there are others.
>playing as a creature with huge hairy balls is cool
that's gay
Yes and no. 3D World stages feature a time limit and you get to a flagpole at the end. Also, you're generally looking at the game from more of an isometric viewpoint.
it doesn't even add to the Mario lore
He just goes through a pipe and ends up in the Fairy World? that's so fucking stupid! There is no indication of this Fairy World in any other Mario game.
It felt like they were just making it up as they went
no. That's not the main purpose of the green stars. You need to collect them and find enough to progress; or you can't progress beyond certain point.
The purpose of the stars is to make you progress.
The hidden coins only unlock secret level.
also,, getting at the end of a stage is how every damn Mario work.
don't be such a retard
>Mario lore
>it doesn't even add to the Mario lore
It totally does, it make new universe and introduce new characters.
time limit pre-date NSMW, and NSMW isn't in isometric.
here's your (You)
what does the stage selection screen have to do with the gameplay?
The secret level isn't unlocked by collecting all the stars.
The only level that is unlocked by all stars (as well as requiring all stamp and Golden flag) is the Champion Road one.
No shit. I'm just saying that's a significant difference when compared to the Galaxies.
All of this might have been true had the Wii U done well
But it didn't
What can ya do?
>It doesn't matter what you think
>What all these other people who agree with me think matters
To be fair, the reveal trailer was pretty underwhelming. It wasn't until the later trailer that people realised this was a fully-fledged game rather than a slightly expanded version of the 3DS game with multiplayer.
The entire point of this thread is to laugh at those retards
Does it make you feel insecure when we laugh at retards? Do you feel so insecure that you have to butt in and pretend like they don't exist?
>It kind of felt like NSMB in 3D
And?
NSMB was fine. The one one that didn't need to exist was NSMB2, all the other games more than justified their existences.
what are you even on about
>getting at the end of a stage is how every damn Mario work
I sure missed the flagpoles in SMB3, World, 64, sunshine, and Galaxy 1 and 2 though.
Read the OP you frothing retard.
I'm glad you enjoyed the NSMB games.
I didn't.
I would love to see Bowser use more of Mario's powers again. He seems to attack with a hat like Mario does in Odyssey, so that's neat.
3D World had a lot of good ideas and I liked how there were a lot of new enemies rather than the same old thing.
Cool. I guess that makes you the adjudicator of what is and isn't "mainline" in the Mario series?
>I sure missed the flagpoles in SMB3, World, 64, sunshine, and Galaxy 1 and 2 though.
You tried , you failed.
Did you really believe anyone wouldn't notice you trying to restrict the meaning of "end of the stage" with just "Flagpole"?
>some teenager said something stupid and said it frequently enough that a bunch of other teenagers started repeating it
wow
This is why I skipped WiiU. Best decision of my life. Especially with Cemu getting so good, so quickly.
>people are STILL arguing that this is on the same level as 64, Sunshine or Galaxy
It's a slightly better NSMB and that's all it'll ever be
when did I say it wasn't mainline?
Does it upset you that I didn't enjoy the game as much as SMG or SMG2?
Most Galaxy stages are one way with a Star at the end.
You literally can't.
I wouldn't mind 3D World at all if it owed up to what it is instead of calling itself a 3D platformer. Alas, we now have a bunch of 3D impaired retards advocating for 2D level design on 3D platformers.
>This is why I skipped WiiU. Best decision of my life.
too bad, there is many great game on it.
>Especially with Cemu getting so good, so quickly.
Game makers don't win their bread that way.
Fair enough, show me the end of the stage in 64 and sunshine. I'll wait.
No time limit though. Plus some branching paths to alternate stars.
Blame Nintendo for naming their console WiiU and not releasing a proper 3D Mario on it.
>>people are STILL arguing that this is on the same level as 64, Sunshine or Galaxy
Yeah, it's baffling how there are still people denying it.
>instead of calling itself a 3D platformer.
But It IS a 3D platformers.
>No time limit though. Plus some branching paths to alternate stars.
Super Mario 3D World has that in the green stars in the level. The only difference is it doesn't throw you out of the level after collecting one.
>the end of the stage in 64 and sunshine. I'll wait.
In 64, it's when you get a star and in Sunshine, when you get a Shine.
>and not releasing a proper 3D Mario on it.
They did release a proper Mario. it's 3D world and it's awesome.
Yeah but I still prefer 3D Mario games to not have a time limit so you can mess around and explore.
I completed this 100% on cemu and it was definitely underwhelming in some ways while still a good game. The main thing why it can't reach a mainline Mario is that the levels and many collectibles are designed for the coop in mind.
>The main thing why it can't reach a mainline Mario is that the levels and many collectibles are designed for the coop in mind.
It work really well in single player too. and it actually reach Mainline Mario games.
It feels like a mainline Mario if you consider it a sequel to the traditional 2D Mario games but it doesn't feel at all like a mainline 3D Mario game.
It has way more in common with the classic games than it has with the 3D games.
How do you get around the forced gamepad features in emulation like tapping on the screen and blowing into the mic?
>Super Mario 3D World was good!
I can't tell if this is bait or just autistic nintendo fans that love everything nintendo shits out.
You click with the mouse on those special blocks. It's quite annoying but this type of blocks only appear very rarely and only in short segments.
You map blowing into the mic to a key on your controller.
It was good though. There was a lot of super creative level design on display. I understand it wasn't what a lot of people wanted though.
