So close to pents
Wait, I thought they had run out of internet?
...
Didn't their "expert" designer only make a dating sim or something stupid like that?
I'm still disappointed that they aren't the same guy.
fuck off with this, extra credits is garbage and deserves to get waterboarded
>muh e-celeb retards
Who cares what they have to say. Make up your own mind on games, critics are worthless.
They are the same guy though?
Most informed and unbiased opinions on the internet in reference to video games.
So of course everyone here hates them.
Summarize it for me, I don't want to waste internet on video.
You can't take Politics out of games. Media tends to be political
No, that's stupid. While it's true that you can define "politics" broadly enough that all media becomes political, there are obviously some political beliefs that are nearly universally held, and some that are currently incredibly polarizing. On top of that, it's possible to create media which is more or less focused on its political message.
On one end, you might have Mario, whose political message is "it's bad to kidnap people" or some shit like that. But it doesn't really focus on it too much, because the game has next to no plot. And on the other end you have a game that very clearly pits you against a Trump allegory who keeps trying to kill Muslims and Mexicans in a straw-man-version of current views.
Yes, when people say "Get politics out of my games", they really mean "get politics I disagree with out of my games", but there is nothing wrong with wanting that.
This is dumb and dumb people say this to justify blabbing their political opinions to people who don't care.
"Everything is political" is a result of critical theory, which is a school of philosophical thought that forces everything to be political.
I don't think anyone has ever said in the history of serious media critique that art in general shouldn't be political. I assume most of Sup Forums has at least finished high school, understand that the entirety of literary canon has some degree of moral or political message behind it.
I think the "no politics in games" crowd more means to say that they don't want direct political allegory in their games, or for writing decisions to be made in otherwise non-politically charged works to be driven by real-world political posturing.
This thread is a bit naff, so lets put a spin on it.
Think of an apolitical game, and someone else can try to find some politics in it.
I want to believe but i keep hearing some anons say otherwise, and that the similarity in artstyle and presentation is just ((((coincidence)))) or that they're friends with EC or some shit
They may as well be the same guy but some proof would make it even more sweeter, if there was it would have been a blowup
Phone game.
>High tier: Media with philosophical themes and messages
>Mid tier: Media with historical or simple moral themes and messages
>Shit tier: Media with contemporary political themes and messages
Prove me wrong
STOP POSTING THIS, YOU ARE WASTING THE PRECIOUS LITTLE INTERNET WE HAVE LEFT
If political games means we get "Hi im a tranny i used to be Stephan" then no i dont want it around anymore.
Project Diva f.
Ah, credibility.
> Get politics I disagree with out of my games
> Nothing wrong with that
That's bullshit and impossible. Even before we had this age where everyone was primed to be offended for whatever stupid reason, the politics of violence, sex, etc. was in almost every game.
Now that the male/female audience is more balanced than it was, and video games in general are far more saturated into the media than ever before, taking out politics one party doesn't agree with means remastering and repacking Tetris and selling that and only that.
>Media tends to be political
It was T.S. Eliot who said that the peculiar honesty of great art is "profound and concealed." AAA hack frauds need not apply.
They said fighting games are too hard and that's why they don't have a gigantic public like mobas and fps. And in order to solve this problem the game needs to take your hand and gently teach you how do a REVERSAL OPPORTUNITY.
